The Sooners have received a commitment from 2018 DT Jordan Kelley. Kelley is currently at the UA All-America Camp in Dallas. He was previously in Norman for Junior Day in February, when he picked up an OU offer. TFB had mentioned the strong possibility of his commitment recently.

Kelley is a Tulsa Union product, where the Sooners have had the recent success of guys like 2017 Tre Brown and 2018 Patrick Fields. TFB mentioned last month that OU would be tough to beat, as Kelley grew up an OU fan. Other finalists for Kelley included OSU and TCU.
TFB’s own Alex King had a chance to see Kelley at The Opening in Dallas in early March. These are his notes from seeing him then:
One of the first things I noticed about Kelley were how big his legs are. Standing around 6’3”/290-pounds the kid has tree trunks for legs. Now hearing that you may wonder how well he can explode off the ball at his DT position. As you will see below, showed impressive 1st-step quicks and then showed a nice rip move on the following rep to almost get the pad again. Holds a Sooners offer.

This is a great step for OU to get the 2018 recruiting class momentum rolling even more. Having local guys be vocal in the recruiting process is a big part of what made the 2017 class so special.
BOOM.
