2015 linebacker, Khaylan Thomas, tweeted out that Oklahoma has offered him:

Thomas hails from California and already has a number of offers including offers from UCLA, Arizona State, Oregon and Miami. After watching a little bit of his FILM all I can say is…why didn’t this offer happen sooner? He plays outside LB in high school but looks more than capable of playing ILB in OU’s scheme. He’s got a nice frame, great bend, and he closes he extremely fast.
We’ll get some additional thoughts from Ace on Thomas and see if we can get in touch with his and see what kind of interest he might have in Oklahoma.
UPDATE (1:24 pm): Wondering how much initial interest Thomas has in OU…how is this? He just tweeted out his updated top 5 and OU is in it:

Smiling, alright, like an assassin just before he puts you down. Long way to go but getting nervous on the ILB needs. Like oline, there are so many opportunities there for the kid that sees it. Seems Thomas is set on going out of state as other top 4 are the AZ and OR schools.

Agree. When he breaks down he can settle and then explode from that point into the ball carrier. Closes the gap quick.
Don’t disagree but would love for Griffin out of FL to get an offer too. Really liked his film the first time and then when Boz flat out said he was an instinct baller, I was sold.
He lays the wood, but he better learn to wrap up. He is developing a bad habit of just hitting. He won’t be able to do this at the next level, but he is a beast and I would love to see him at OU.
This kid is outrageously good. I could really see him making a name for himself at OU. He laid some concussions out there. Great at plugging the holes too.
I say take him, Caban, jefferson, and deberry and let’s go.

OU’s chances with Deberry aren’t too shabby. Chances of Jefferson is gonna depend on how Texas and TAMU do this year and where DeAndre ends up. Caban…can’t get a good read yet.
Why low on DeBerry everything we’ve heard was we are in the running.

I think we either get Jefferson or DeBerry, I’m just not sure which (leaning DeBerry)

Just added Bobby Evans the committed tackle from Texas. Do you think this new lb offer will be here? Sure come on board quick but it didn’t take Samia (from California) very long to pull the trigger once OU got him on campus. He’s from Etiwanda, Ca. not sure what classification that is in California.
Let me get this straight: OU has a decent shot at DeBerry, Caban, Wheeler, Peat, Jefferson and maybe Rhaylon Thomas. I haven’t heard much about Townsend, McGinnis, and Mckee lately though.
I’m beginning to think OU will have to do some serious soul searching before long.
Seems they still have a shot with McGinnis. And others are just waiting on a call.

Etiwanda is in the top division with teams like Vista Murrietta (Bolton’s school) and Corona Centennial that makes it to the Division 1 or Open State Championship like almost every year with Concord DeLaSalle.
I’d like to see Monty help Kish out on this one.
I think Monty will help. He’s definitely the best recruiter on staff. All those hires seem to be working just need kish to pay off on the recruiting trail and gather some depth this year. I know Monty is helping on most recruits and I think American Express is mad at him for his frequent flyer miles.
This kid is fluent, has great hips on change of direction and knows his fits. Still needs a little muscle mass but has all the tools to be a great LB!!!

Just want to say once again how great this site is for anyone wanting ou news. Not sure about all pay sites but one in particular claims “inside info”…no secret now. But this news has been out there for 2+ hours on free sites. Yet they haven’t even made a post regarding the offer. Also if paying for inside info wouldn’t you want to know an offer was coming before it happened? I’m not paying for that site my free trial ends this week but this is why they won’t receive my subscription.
The stuff you find here is often…always better and the regular posters do not troll and for the most part no one trolls here.
And you don’t have to pay for the info that is on public radio broadcasts.

I’ve scanned the front pages of pay sites over the years and was never sucked in by their teasers because I was always able to figure out what they were trying to sell within a few hours. There are a lot of places to get better returns on my money.
Exactly. I did the free til football returns on oui. I haven’t been impressed. JH is not a bad writer but they have the word “insider” in the name of their site and he doesn’t catch wind of many things it seems until after someone else (tfb) already has the info. I know there’s a poster from here that often asks questions and it was almost a week before they could confirm whether or not Mann was visiting. Btw I think he committed to ou before they confirmed whether or not he would be on campus.

Have Jefferson and/or McNeil scheduled official visits to OU? It’s be great to get them at the Tennessee game or the UTerus game. Both may be blowout wins.
I’m pretty sure McNeal has not and has said he might not because of proximity. But from what I’ve read ou is high on his list because we want him in the h-back role some want him on defense (not sure which schools though) and I believe K said McNeal has been quiet.
I read somewhere that Mcneal was going to announce the day after Jefferson or the same day. It was around December 20th.

It would be awesome to get both. McNeal with flowers would be great for 3 years. I want to see what we would do with 2 h-back guys at the same time. I think it would be an extremely efficient offense.
Zack, we had Rip and Fat Daddy for two years. And Rip and Flowers this season. Rip has done a great job the last couple of years, especially for being a former Walk on.
I like rip but they don’t use him like an h-back. I’m not sure if he’s ever had a reception and maybe no carries as well, I would have to look it up.
I may be wrong, but I think he did have a TD catch last year, late in the season.
I hope they will use him a little more this season, but he is such a great blocker, it freed up Millard to get out and catch some balls.
Now I have to check again…but he did have one catch for 3 yards. Only catch and/or carry of his career. I would like to see him get more involved.
That one catch was for a TD from Kendal Thompson.
Yeah, against Iowa State. The pass was thrown by Kendal Thompson. It was the one TD for both of them.
McNeal has definitely told me that he’s very interested in OU but didn’t go into much detail. I think both McNeal and Jefferson will eventually make it to Norman for a game.
A little concerned at linebacker for the present time. I was thinking the same thing about the 2014 and 2015 line before O. Brown become eligible a couple months back. But look where OU stands know.

I covet 3 players in particular for this class: McKinley Whitfield, Keisean Lucier-Smith, and Khaylan Thomas. I sure wouldn’t mind adding Takkarist McKinley either.
I like all 3 and especially McKinley out of Spiro, Ok. I’m still puzzled if and when OU will offer.
Whitfield is a great athlete but he is raw, Coaches probably view him as a project and I heard grades may be a problem!
I will have to say I agree he’s raw. But a redshirt and some playing time as a RS freshman will be all he needs to be prepared for 3 sensational years. Not sure where you heard about grades but his brother posts here occasionally and I believe he’s got a 3.7 if I remember correctly, his act may have been 18 but so was my first one and I graduated with honors.
Zack- when I went to OU you only GOT one ACT! LOL. How times have changed. You get to practice it and look at old tests and best of all- take it several times and then only use your best score! Amazeballs! Or something.
He’s already been offered by West Point and his brother came on here and told us what his GPA and SAT scores were, so grades are definitely not an issue.
