– I had a brief exchange with OT Jamal Danley about his recent visit to Miss. State. Danley would be a key pick up for Oklahoma and he is set to visit later this month. I asked him about his visit to Miss. State and he said that the trip “went alright…same ole same ole.”
– I know it was mentioned in the comments of this weekend’s Open Post, but in case you missed it OU offer Louis Brown decommitted from Baylor yesterday. Brown is a prospect we’ve been a fan of since Oklahoma first got involved back in February. Brown has been in regular contact with Oklahoma, and last I checked he said that he planned on taking an official visit to Norman. However, he did attend UT’s camp yesterday and received an offer so perhaps that had something to do with his decommitment. We’ll try to see what we can find.
– I also had a chance to catch up with Neville Gallimore earlier this weekend. Neville said that his communication with Jerry Montgomery is extremely frequent, and he made it clear that Montgomery is doing a really good job of building a relationship. Neville has to be one of the most thoughtful and polite recruits I’ve ever spoken to. His upside and character make him the kind of prospect who would fit exactly what Oklahoma is looking for these days. Namely, guys who are not only talented but can add to the already excellent team chemistry that currently exists.
He has every intention of visiting Oklahoma this summer or for an official visit. The original plan was to come down for a visit this summer with his coach, Geoff McArthur, however due to a scheduling issue that visit might not happen. The unofficial visit may happen at another tim,e but either way it’s clear that Neville really wants to visit OU. And I’d be surprised if he can’t find some way to make that happen.
– I was also able to check in with Anthony Wheeler about his time in Norman this past weekend, and he said it went “very well.” He said he spent time with a number of coaches, including Coach Stoops and his position coach, Tim Kish. He also said he spent a lot of time with another former Skyline player and Sooner, Frank Shannon. I’ll be catching up with Anthony further to talk about some of the other schools that he’s considering in addition to OU.

Me too! I sure hope OU can get a buttload of officials for the Tennessee game. It looks like the stadium will be rocking. Starting to realize the importance of an official visit.
Ha, when I seen “buttload of officials”, thought you had Tenn. confused with Oregon, then realized what you meant by officials. I haven’t even started happy hour yet!…..gonna be a good day.

Good stuff as Danley and Gallimore are definitely key targets. Also it’s great to know the personality of the players. Heard Wheeler is quiet but hope he makes an OU decision.

Would love to keep that Skyline pipeline open. It’s been very good to us. You cannot help but be impressed by his film. He possesses fantastic vision and ability to sift thru traffic and find the ball carrier.
He’s so long that I’m wondering if he’ll grow into a DE. He’s got really long arms that would be extremely useful as a DE. If not, he’ll be a giant at MLB.
I was looking into their classes the last several years and they have like 10-12 division one commits every year. Pretty evenly split though between texas university (lol) a&m and ou. And then rest end up at smaller d1 schools.

Danley have a visit set for OU yet? I know you guys mentioned he was definitely going to take one, but couldn’t remember when.
Hey coach, they said at the end of this month but not a date. I’m assuming the 28th & 29th. Don’t like to assume. Would really like to get Danley on campus and let the coaches focus on his options.

All four of these guys would be major gets for OU. I’m liking that fact that we’re in a good spot w/ a chance to land all four! Gallimore is the one I want most out of this group. Crazy athletic for a dude his size. As always, thanks for the great info!
Good news on the Wheeler front, can’t wait to hear more. If my memory serves me well, Corey Nelson is the last highly touted LB OU signed and he just happens to also hail from Skyline.
Ironically, they both wear/wore #7.
Shannon also from there and we’ve had a couple other players from there. I don’t know if the others really had an impact.
Kerrick Huggins, Joe Powell & Steve Coleman are the only other three from there that I can think of.

Also I think he plays wr right now so could project as a tight end but everyone is recruiting him for defense I think.

Could it be that he was hoping to make an unofficial visit this month with his coach. I don’t think will happen now. I think he still wants to visit. Haven’t heard about him committing , but somebody on the TFB site will be on top of it. Great site, great people.
I’m sure he can probably wait until the season starts so he can take official visits. That would be smart because he’s got a long way to travel to get here.
I spoke to his coach on Thursday and him on Friday and didn’t get that impression at all but you never know. Neville said he speaks to coach Montgomery regularly…in fact he had spoken to him on Thursday (the day before I spoke to him) so I’d think we are still in it. He did recently visit tOSU and they made a good impression but the impression I got from him and his coach is there is still more to see. Hopefully that’s the case and he doesn’t commit too quick.
Y’all do a great job of staying in contact with these kids and coaches. I don’t know how y’all find the time.

Until signing day comes and goes, I wouldn’t rule anything out for anyone. I haven’t heard a single thing about Johnson flipping.
I’m with Keith on this haven’t heard anything about him but I know when he committed it was said that it may not be that strong of a commitment. But from an interview I saw a month ago he seemed high on ou.
Visited UT camp this weekend…could be a sign.
I’d be surprised if they offered. The gem at SOC isn’t Johnson IMO. It’s Prentice McKinney.
Do you think texas would offer Johnson to try to get McKinney to give them a chance? Different than the wariboko scenario since Johnson is at least worthy of big time offers.
I don’t. Big schools rarely do that unless we’re talking about a rare position group like OT and even then it’s not common. And McKinney is solid to ND. He’s even recruiting Texas kids for them.
Tennessee received their 2nd QB commit for this class today in Quenton Dormady. I’m sure Gibson doesn’t love that…

Wouldn’t be too upset with a Johnson decommit. He had skills but nothing you can’t find anywhere else. No disrespect to the kid.
I agree plus it opens up a spot for a 3rd corner or to take an athlete preferably mckinley and then we can find out if he’s a safety or olb.
