– We’ll start a late open post and roll it into tomorrow.
– First of all big news. Star DL Tim Settle is back on campus at Oklahoma. In fact he is in the office with coach Montgomery right now. That’s his second trip to OU in a few days. Not sure where we stand with him. I’ll have to do some digging but a few schools I’ve heard mentioned are two in-state schools (VA Tech and VA) and Alabama but it seems OU is at least making an impression.
– Also, I know a lot of folks are wondering about the Mike Mitchell transfer situation and whether he’s considering Oklahoma. I talked to someone who would know and the information I got was that Oklahoma is not involved. I don’t know why but I was told that Oklahoma wasn’t involved in his recruiting at this time.
– An offer we haven’t mentioned yet that went out recently was to ATH Derrick Dillon out of Franklinton, Louisiana. He’s been offered as a WR and I was told that LSU actually wants him as a CB but he wants to play WR so it seems as of now LSU is not in the picture. I was also told that he wants to take an unofficial visit to Oklahoma this summer. Not sure whether it will happen at least indicates there is some initial interest.
– Also, continue to hear good things about OU and Isaiah Langley. A few weeks back we mentioned that OU had made a big impression on the father and it seems that the relationship between coach Wright and the family continues to develop and grow.
– UPDATED (2:21 pm): Y’all have to see this 2017 DL out of Wisconsin! Weighs 370 lbs (not a typo)! And he’s actually got a pretty nice get off.

Good stuff. I think Settle also holds Tenn in high esteem.
I’ll try to talk to him before I go out of town and figure it out.
Settle’s new Twitter logo is a picture of Settle and Trent Williams from the Spring Game.
They have something in common. Great athletes for their size. Trent was a heck of an athlete. Great feet, vert, pro agility, broad jump etc.. athleticism off the charts. When he decided to get cock strong he became an nfl pro bowler. Settle’s athleticism jumps off the screen. He hasn’t even started to get strong yet. Once he does it will be scary for OC’s.
Super K, I’m just catching up now and I saw the fireworks from yesterdays post on the Texas Tech commit. Just wanted to let you know your blog wasn’t offensive in my eyes. I’m not a homer sugarcoating it either. Some of the Sooner responses were combative and helped escalate though. I know that was the last thing you expected and you must have felt many different emotions. Keep up the good work and don’t let it bother you.
I’m slow, just now getting it. Texas Tech trolls are still upset about the Baker Mayfield transfer and believe we tampered with him. Super K’s post about not giving up on the polynesian prince hit a nerve.
Settle also just jumped up in the rating to #6 overall by espn. Hopefully Coach Monty gets it done.
He’s unreal. I had not actually watched him till just the other day and he’s off line as fast as any DT I’ve seen at any weight. The difference is he runs 300+ lbs.
I’m assuming we’re recruiting Langley as a corner is he interested in playing wideout?
We’re recruiting him as a corner but I don’t think coach Norvell would be upset if he wanted to play WR haha.
Yeah just like I bet mike wouldn’t be upset if quick wanted to play defense. Either way I like his athleticism and would like to see a corner on the board with all these guys that seem in favor of ou.
Seems like a lot of players who transfer closer to home reach out to schools they’re interested in rather than seeing who contacts them first. With Mike Mitchell, I never really got the feeling he seriously considered OU during his initial recruiting period. Dynamite athlete with insane production, though.

For Settle to visited again so soon on own dime (Va ain’t next door) has to be encouraging…does he plan to announce early?
He has actually been in town since Friday or Saturday. I believe he is visiting family in OKC.

I thought the other guys looked pretty good so Bell has to really be shining..I liked seeing the footage going against Sanchez..he seems to know how to use his arms to get separation without getting a Pi call

So is this the pro combat Uni OU played with in 2009 against tech (behind Settle)? I only ask because I don’t remember it being next to the Crystal Ball in other player photos.

It’s kind of like watching AD’s high school film, only on defense. He’s so much bigger and faster than everyone around him, it’s like watching a dad playing with his kids.

Just realized I’ve never told you guys this awesome story: About four or so years ago my mother dated this guy who worked as an electrician in Austin, and although he was by no means a good guy, he did have one good moment. He went to work one day and the location they were working at happened to be Mack Brown’s new place (I believe it was a high rise apartment?) and they were told to wash their hands because it was Mack Brown’s home. Well, he had a really nice, expensive washer and dryer in there. Now he wasn’t an OU fan or a texas fan, he hated football, but he knew we were big OU fans so he took a black sharpie and wrote Boomer Sooner on the inside of Mack Brown’s washer and dryer. Assuming Mack still has those washer and dryers, it’s still there.
edit: forgot to add that he didn’t know who Mack was, so he called first.

What’s going on? Wasn’t Conner Dyer at OU spring game-Received Ok. State offer. Wasn’t Will Sunderland at OU spring game-received Ohio State offer. Wasn’t Landis Durham at OU spring game-received offers from Texas Tech and Baylor. Add to the fact that two top OU targets-Breiden Fehoko and John Humphrey committed to Texas Tech and Baylor. When was OU’s last commit? Don’t like the trend ever since everybody was predicting Toby Weathersby to commit to OU and he goes to visit Texas and boom he’s a Texas commit. I know just wait February is a long way off. Does any one see a OU recruit in the near future?
Hopefully we get rolling soon. It sucks that there’s a couple of in state guys that ou probably leads on with Barnett and Sunderland yet no commit from either. But we know ou will finish strong and if they put it together and run the table like most think is a strong possibility then I’m sure everyone will take notice even the guys who’ve committed early to other schools.
Count it. Settle and the big guy are both going toTT, they are building something special there. Oh wait we are the delusional fans.

Not sure how this site works, can you link other sites? Click on the chat recap threads. Many feel it is Wariboko decommitting. Not sure how that qualifies as “big news”. If you follow the kids twitter, you will see that he really isn’t committed to OU. We are more of a place holder for him right now. If we offer his brother, then maybe he comes to OU, but it appears that is the only way.
Hopefully they a aren’t reporting that as breaking news. He kind of teased the idea a few months back saying whoever offers his little brother will get a visit from him. I don’t know that his brother is elite program great yet and he would be the 2016 class so there’s still time for his brother the be recognized but I think he’s just trying to help him get noticed.
This would be bad to lose Wariboko, he is an elite lineman, but I don’t think he is worth 2 ships so if he wants to go, Bill will find another
