Bob Stoops Spring Preview Press Conference

Bob Stoops will hold his annual spring preview press presser Thursday afternoon around noon. We’re here to watch, listen, and recap things for you.
We’ll be following along and providing updates here live as things happen, so feel free to hang out in the comments as we get our first official taste of spring practice. Of course, if you can’t catch it live we’ll have everything that was said here for you whenever you can get around to reading it.
This is a feature I’ve done in the past that people seemed to appreciate, having one place they could go to quickly read thru what Stoops had to say, and one I plan to continue once the actual season arrives and Stoops meets with the media every Monday.

Listed at 262 on the roster they just updated today, which should tell you all you need to know w/ respect to how much stock to put into those height/weights listed.

Had shoulder surgery following the season.
I seen that coming a mile away (moving down in the box anyways)..He’s the same size as Alexander…I doubt he has the coverage skills as Wilson though…be interesting to see how he does covering the slots

I really hope so, this kid looked so special in High school.
He had better get going right now or we may not see much of him and that would be a total waste of amazing talent.
Absolutely, if he lets these younger guys, especially Mixon pass him on the depth chart he’s done. It would be a shame to see a local kid with his talent flame out.
It’s almost tragic with all the guys we’ve seen thru the years with enormous talent that just couldn’t get their heads in the right place.
Yeah and the Ross deal is a mystery right now to me. It’s easy to understand when they talk about ball control or pass protection but when they say things like maturity or consistency it leaves it wide open to interpretation.

My understanding of the situation is talent wise there is no question this kid can ball.The issue is maturity and keeping his head on straight. They can provide him with all the help in the world yet if he doesn’t truly wanted to act like what is required, its futile.

I hope what I am about to type doesn’t “jinx” us BUT, it seems as though over the past year, the younger kids have been focused on what needs to happen to win the big one. We haven’t had many guys getting into trouble or the immaturity you would expect out of such a young team. I don’t know if it’s the new coaches or leadership on the team, but I like where we are headed.

Wow! Just Wow! 300lbs, plus the elite athleticism we’ve heard about (here at tFB), and if I read the roster correctly, he’s just a redshirt FR, and he’s not even listed on the 2 deep yet. I’m so pumped about this guy and the potential for this defense I’m starting to analyze the o/u on the number of shutouts for this season!

Thanks for the play-by-play, Jordan. I don’t know the last time we got this much information out of a Bob Stoops PC, or maybe I’m just so starved for CFB that I don’t know the difference.
And it’s nice to hear the cautiously reserved, Bob Stoops sound so optimistic.

I remember a couple of years ago during the offseason he said he thinks it’s time we win another NC. That didn’t turn out too well.
Yeah. But that was a good trip to Tally… We need to get on the ten trip. The horn is flat out refusing… May have to get mean with him.
I’m all over Tennessee. FTR, the trip to Tally was just ok for me. The golf on the way there was great, the game was great, but everything else was just so-so at best. I can think of several games I’ve been to that I would love to go back for, but not Tally. Unless we were both ranked high. The tailgating scene had a lot of people, but the atmosphere was pretty weak.
FWIW, you should make sure you have an in-network provider before you go to Knoxville. Just putting that out there.

I brought up the tally trip bc that’s the season Stoops said it was time for the natty 🙂 and I forgot you didn’t eat & drink your way through the Chesapeake tailgate & their u-haul… I did 🙂
