We’re a couple days away from knowing how Oklahoma’s 2014 class is going to end up so I figured it’d be fun to give y’all my final predictions and also get your final predictions.
Oklahoma’s final targets are Steven Parker, Miciah Quick, Kenyon Frison and Deondre Clark. Lukayus McNeil recommitted to Louisville over the weekend so he’s out.
Steven Parker – We’ve been calling this one to OU for a while. The Auburn trip didn’t change anything. Because of my friendship with Steven’s father, there hasn’t been much I can say other than “Sooner fans have reason to be optimistic.” But this one has been Oklahoma for a few weeks now. Final Prediction: Oklahoma
Miciah Quick – This is another one we’ve been calling for Oklahoma. I got the info on Quick a while back from the same source that gave us the good news on Devante Bond a week before he committed, so we’ve always felt pretty good about Quick to OU. Final Prediction: Oklahoma
Kenyon Frison – This is probably the most important recruit left on the board. Not taking a HS true left tackle in this class seems very problematic and we still don’t know if Christian Daimler — from the 2013 class — is a LT either. A couple weeks ago the reports I got out of OU was the coaches weren’t feeling very good about Frison. Then the reports started to go more 50/50. The latest thing I got was a message from an Arizona State commit who said he believed Kenyon would end up at OU. And of course we had the final visit this past weekend by the coaches that would indicate they at least have enough confidence to feel like a final visit is worthwhile.
Not much to go on to be honest, so I’m sort of taking a shot in the dark here. But the Sooner Magic train has been chugging along lately, so I’m going to call this one for the good guys even if I’m not super confident one way or another. Perhaps more than anything I’m just hoping I am right on this one because Kenyon would really tie a nice bow on this class. Final Prediction: Oklahoma
Deondre Clark – I think most of you know by now that this is a bit of a struggle between what Deondre’s mother wants and what Deondre wants. If this was a case where Deondre hated Oklahoma and his mother really wanted him to stay home then I’d call this one for LSU. But that really isn’t the case.
As Deondre’s mother has told us, Dre does like Oklahoma and he has a good relationship with the coaches and some of the players. So it isn’t as if Dre would be devastated ending up at Oklahoma. However there are a couple DEs that I know LSU started looking at once the Dre Clark to Oklahoma stuff started heating up. Because I’ve got friends who coach them and LSU hasn’t really pursued them aggressively lately, so that could mean LSU is feeling more confident that they hold on to Dre.
Although truth be told my suspicion is that no one, including Dre, are really certain where he is going to end up. But I’ll stick with the Sooner Magic train again here. Final Prediction: Oklahoma
I hate to come across as homer but I’ll go ahead and predict OU closes strong with a 4 for 4. Leave us your predictions in the comments section below.
– (UPDATE 9:27 AM, via Jordan Esco): Okay, just wanted to quickly address something bmrsnr mentioned in the comments below. And that’s this report coming from a Notre Dame Scout.com site about the possibility of Sooners 2014 DT/DE commit Courtney Garnett reconsidering his decision and/or commitment.
DT Courtney Garnett thinking of delaying NSD decision after Irish OV & "intense conversation" w/ Brian VanGorder ($): http://t.co/AA45jqf6nw
— Anna Adams (@AnnaH247) February 3, 2014
As I addressed in the comments below, one has to keep in mind where/who this is coming from. When you see that ($) included prior to the link, that means the information they’re “teasing” you with in that tweet is behind a paywall. Which simply means you’d have to be a paying customer to click on that link and be able to see what they’re reporting. And this certainly wouldn’t be the first pay site that was catering to their paying customer base with a story that sounds all well and good, but actually has very little chance of ever happening.
To be perfectly clear, I’m not saying that is what’s happening here. I don’t know this website and I don’t know this reporter.
However, here’s what we do know. Notre Dame just offered Garnett shortly before he visited South Bend this weekend. Prior to that, they had been recruiting him somewhat but certainly not to the level that Oklahoma had been for some time. I spoke with K about this report and during that conversation he said Garnett’s mom “RUNS stuff.” She did not make the trip with him to Notre Dame. She did make the trip with him to Oklahoma.
So in the course of basically a week, we’re to believe that in one weekend Brian Kelly and his staff have overcome the job Bob Stoops & co. put in with Garnett thus securing his commitment just days before he made said Notre Dame trip?
Sorry, but I’m not buying it.
Look, nothing is impossible (especially when it comes to recruiting). Obviously Garnett could change his mind and this report could ultimately prove to be correct. But at this point, I (and I know several others agree) think there is very little to this.
Of course if something changes on that front, be it good or bad for OU, we’ll be sure to bring it to you.
– (UPDATE 11:54 am): After another off-the-court incident this past weekend, Stevie Clark has reportedly been dismissed from the Oklahoma State basketball team. Obviously this isn’t OU related per se, but as many of you know Deondre Clark is Stevie’s younger brother and a major 2014 recruiting target for the Sooners.
No clue how, if at all, this would impact Deondre’s recruitment and/or OU’s chances but with the news just now breaking we figured you’d want to at least be made aware.
– (UPDATE 2:24 pm): It has been reported by multiple outlets that Steven Parker is expected to announce his decision tomorrow (Tuesday), not on National Signing Day (Wednesday). Wasn’t sure everyone here was aware of that, so wanted to get this out there just in case. With respect to his pending decision, nothing has changed from the opinion above.
– (UPDATE 3:17 pm): I talked to Courtney Garnett and he did say that Notre Dame is a great school and he said, “I’m weighing my options.” So there is some news on that front. However, this was the first time Courtney has ever been on a plane. It was the first long distance trip he took to a school. He took the trip without his mother. So my guess is there is some excitement that is really about the ‘new-ness of it all.’ But I’ll be flat out shocked if he flips. His mother is all OU and he has a great relationship with Coach Montgomery.
– (UPDATE 5:23 pm): Samuel McKewon reports that Kenyon Frison will decide between Oklahoma, Nebraska, Utah and Arizona State. He will announce at 8:30 CST AM on Wednesday.

Only 10 minutes after I posted this and I started rethinking those last two lol.
Is Parker still going to share the news today or has he backed off that?
Tomorrow bud
Do they still use fax machines to transmit the signed letters?
A what?……Just kidding Lol.
The Radio Shack SB ad comes to mind – ” … the 80’s called, they want their fax machine back …”
Yes
We’ve got reasons to be optimistic about all of them, so stick with your gut feeling. And quick question: Do you think there’s a chance we offer Tristan Hill if Frison goes elsewhere?
I think we get Parker and Quick, but not the last two. IF Frison lets us know early enough, I think we might offer Hill, if he hasn’t signed elsewhere.
Last week Josh Heupel went over to Mustang to ask coach Dombek if Tristan would walk on. But that’s obviously not going to happen because he loves Georgia Southern. And if he wanted to play BCS level he’s got a Vanderbilt offer now so he has the option of playing in the SEC. Tristan is going to surprise people at the next level. I just wish we would have found him a little sooner.
So you don’t think OU will offer, even if Frison tells us today he is going some place else? Gotta trust our staff, if they don’t think he is worth the scholarship, I won’t question them. But he seems like a good kid that would do the right things, be around for 4-5 years, and at the very worst, provide a little depth. Possibly grow into a quality player.
Really glad he got legit offers and it’s hard to argue with an actual scholarship … Especially in this times. If we miss out on Frison, I hope we offer him.
On the other hand the coaches must feel good about Frison to hold out on this local talent
Well, I guess I’ll play the counter to K’s positive outlook.
If I’m going off the known list of the “Final Five” and w/ Garnett obviously in the books already, I’ll say OU goes 3-for-5.
🙂 – Garnett, Parker, Quick
🙁 – Clark, Frison
Just have a feeling that even though OU, IMO, makes a lot more sense for Frison (for a variety or reasons, most notably two seniors at the tackles who’ll be gone after next year) I think ASU swayed him.
With Clark, I’ve never loved the idea that it seems like it’s his Mom that is the only one talking up OU. Again, just a feeling I think the kid sticks w/ LSU and his long stated desire to play defense in the SEC.
Hope I’m wrong on both, but I won’t be disappointed w/ a Garnett, Parker, Quick close as I expect some will simply b/c they are considered “gimmies.”
Some outlets reporting that Garnett might not be as ‘in the book’ as we thought. https://twitter.com/AnnaHScout
Yeah, I’ve seen that. And look, I don’t know that person so I wouldn’t want to accuse them of anything that isn’t above board so I’ll just say this.
It’s a Notre Dame centric PAY site and they have a customer base they’re catering to.
IMO, there is very little to worry about.
ND literally just offered very shortly before his trip, so on one visit and a couple conversations during said visit they’re going to overcome all the work OU has put in? Sorry, not buying it.
Of course I could look like an idiot if he flips btwn now and whenever his winds up signing somewhere, but I think it’s still going to be OU.
Exactly. If a subscription based site doesn’t have good headlines all the time, they won’t have a good subscription base all the time. They have to do what they can to get people’s attention. Headlines are used the same way they’ve been for over 150 years: to grab people’s attention. In this case it’s to sell more subscriptions, ESPECIALLY right before signing day. Good luck trying to get a refund, too. They make it difficult for a reason.
Hey, If AnnaHScout came to my door and asked me to join her school I would listen. 🙂
First time poster here. You guys are doing a great job. A real breath of fresh air and thank you.
Question: I heard Mixon made a low key visit to UCLA this weekend. Any reason to be concerned? I know hes been dispelling any and all rumors but just thought it was odd that he’d give them a visit.
Feel free to post away. Why is it odd for a HS senior to take free trips and hope to land at a good party? He’s tweeted BOOMER SOONER after the trip.
I’ll stay OU gets Parker and Quick and Frison goes to ASU and Clark to LSU. Losing Frison would bug me more than losing Clark. If we get all 4 then I’ll be happily wrong.
My thoughts on this as well. If a guy (Clark) doesn’t want to be a Sooner, go where you will be happy
I feel good about Parker, Somewhat optimistic about quick, 50- 50 on Frison, and I think Clark goes LSU especially with his brother getting arrested yet again over the weekend, think he want’s to put some space between himself and that situation.
My head says Quick and Parker only, but my heart says all four. However, my head lost to my heart in the Sugar bowl, so I’m going 4 for 4. Boomer!
https://twitter.com/ItsQuicker/status/430293683326300160
Have Mixon send him a copy of the OU/ND game… stat!
not buying it.
Neither am I. I agree w/ what you said in your post re: Quick. I’ll be stunned if it’s not OU.
I feel like there’s a lot of sunshine pumping coming from all the recruiting sites. I’ve heard this song and dance before and been burned. So I’m hesitant, considering how recruiting can go. No one really feels like a lock to me.
Quick and Parker make this a really nice class and I feel good about the two of them. I would be pretty disappointed if we didn’t land both. I don’t feel very good at all about Frison OR Clark. IF we ended up with Quick, Parker, and Frison I would jump for joy. All 4, I would probably throw a party.
Trust me! We are getting all 4! Just wait on it
Wish I could feel that optimistic.
Mixon? Is that you?
Love the confidence Adrian!
The only one that concerns me is Clark. Just like Elton John, he could go either way.
Frison, Quick, Parker are in the bag. They know the Sooner name because we told it to them.
I have to think come signing day, Deondre looks across the table into his mother’s face, the mother he loves and has taken such great care of him, the mother that loves him like no one on earth does, and he signs his name on the Oklahoma dotted line.
How do you know you’re the King? You wake up in the castle, and you’re in bed with the queen. Go Sooners!
“When you see that ($) included prior to the link, that means the information they’re “teasing” you with in that tweet is behind a paywall. Which simply means you’d have to be a paying customer to click on that link and be able to see what they’re reporting. And this certainly wouldn’t be the first pay site that was catering to their paying customer base with a story that sounds all well and good, but actually has very little chance of ever happening.”
Worth repeating. Pay sites on recruiting are a lot like women. A lot of self-created drama.
I heard rumors that folks at Nebraska were telling Frison if he didn’t choose Nebraska, he should go to OU. Although they would want him for themselves obviously, it doesn’t sound unrealistic that this would happen.
As far as Clark goes, I’d prefer he go where his heart is. If he’s grown up always wanting to play at an SEC school, he should follow his dream. I know I’ll root for whatever he decides.
I say we get Quick, Parker, and Frison with Clark honoring his commitment to LSU.
classy post bro. Gotta root for the Okies 🙂
Perhaps I am being to optimistic, but OU always seems to do pretty well developing their offensive line no matter who they have. They seem to constantly develop their players to play on the next level in regards to their abilities. If they get Frison that would be great, perhaps they will find another local kid or some unknown and develop him into a decent player. I guess I am just amazed how well overall the OL plays across the board even when they come in to sub or first start. Just curious on what everyone else thinks.
you’re right. We do a great job with development and coach Bedenbaugh has taken it to another level. The problem I see is that without Frison we don’t have any young bucks. We took Daimler last year who may end up being an RT and the kid out of St. Aug is also an RT. So without Frison we may be looking at 2 straight years where we didn’t take a HS LT. That concerns me a bit. But you’re point about development is excellent.
I was going to post something about this last night. Maybe I’m misremembering, but it seems like a lot of the stud olinemen that OU has had over the last 7-10 years, weren’t particularly elite coming out of HS.
I like our chances on getting 3 of the 4. Still not convinced Frison is buying in. As far as Clark is concerned, Hey Dre, if you want to play defense in the NFL, come and play for a team who thrashed what many believe was the best team in the SEC. How many sacks and forced turnovers did OU have against Bama? Yeah, Coach Stoops can play some defense.
Landing 50% would be great. 75% would be epic. 100% would be straight up ridiculous. I’ll go with my Engineering risk assessment and say a. Underpromise and overdeliver
I think we get all 4. Feel great about the first two. I’m 70% on the next two.
Just so you know, Joe Mixon is “on flip watch” according to a major corporate site. Seems like they’ll put anything out just to get clicks when there’s no basis for their predictions. I’m confident about Parker, 70% with Quick, 50% with Frison, and have no idea about Clark due to his brother’s arrest this weekend. All of these guys are difference makers and would be an epic close to this class.
I respect how Frison has done his recruitment: he’s held everything close to the chest and taken his time to make his decision with his family. I’m glad the coaches made the effort to have one last visit with him before the dead period.
“Just so you know, Joe Mixon is “on flip watch” according to a major
corporate site. Seems like they’ll put anything out just to get clicks
when there’s no basis for their predictions”
Somebody read my update 😉
I plead the 5th…
Watching this stuff go down makes me want to DRINK the 5th!
He visited UCLA this past weekend
Just read that too. Not real happy about him sneaking one in but hopefully it was a courtesy visit. Gonna be a long 36 hours waiting for those signatures!
Mixon is still tweeting BOOMER SOONER, Don’t worry, Signing day coming soon. Wait on it!
https://twitter.com/Joe_MainMixon/status/430211548372406272
You’re on top of your game Esco!
“So even though he’s asked us several times to stop printing articles with zero validity saying he could flip…could he still flip to UCLA? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ($).”
CHA CHING!
I wish there was some way to rec this, like a thousand times
OK after NSD what do we discuss or vent on? Is it 2015 recruits till Spring practice? What a vicious cycle, but I love it. Keeps me out of the local pub (at least till happy hour). Great work on this site!!!
In order of importance for me:
Frison
Parker
Quick
Clark
Garnett
I think that looks about right.
I know OT is a need, but I don’t think you can put Frison above Parker. Parker is a better prospect, is from OK, and is from a big time OK pipeline. We need him to end up at OU more than any of the others, IMO.
I can’t argue with that. My opinion is based on need but both are very important. With OU signing Bird and Thomas last year and zero LT’s, I gave Frison the edge.
In order of importance for me would be the following:
1. Clark, Frison, Garnett, Parker, and Quick.
2. There isn’t a second priority.
3. There isn’t a second priority, how can there be a third?
4. Don’t you get it? There is no one after the first priority!?
5. OK. YOU’RE NOT LISTENING! THERE IS NO SECOND PRIORITY. OR THIRD. OR FOURTH! THERE IS NO FIFTH EITHER!
Stevie Clark was just kicked off the OSU bball team. Mom may want him to go far away after all…. I think we get all but Clark. He is looking for reasons NOT to come to OU.
Was just about to post the same thing. Well, about his brother not the part about looking for reasons not to come to OU.
Jordan, do you or Super K have a feeling about a rabbit out of the hat trick. Maybe someone besides the 4 or 5 everybody is talking about. Stoops and company have done this before. Or does OU have room to sign anyone else?
I haven’t seen or heard anything like that going down for this year’s class. I think their targets are known, as we’ve discussed here, and that’s pretty much it.
If they miss on Frison, you might see them sign a JUCO OT afer NSD, but I’m not entirely the odds on that are even that great.
Kinda how I read him. I haven’t read a solitary thing from Deondre that demonstrated any excitement about OU or the opportunity for playing here. Just looks like he’s looking for reason NOT to go to OU. Think he has SEC-itis….
Stevie to OU? Maybe let him sit the remainder of this year, and give him a shot next year?
It’s certainly an intriguing scenario, albeit one that’s probably not very likely.
However, OU is quite familiar w/ Clark having recruited him at the same time as Woodard.
Also worth keeping in mind that if Clark goes to another D-I school, he’d have to sit out the remainder of this year (obviously) as well as next year. For some reason I want to say b-ball is different (or maybe it isn’t), in that I feel it’s one calendar year. Which, if true, means he wouldn’t have to sit on the entirety of next year, but I’m not 100% certain on that.
Regardless, I don’t think he’s coming to OU.
He wouldn’t have to sit next year. He got a full release from OSU. I wouldn’t let him mess with team chemistry this year, but letting him come in next year wouldn’t be bad. This kid has been stupid, but hasn’t done anything that doesn’t deserve another chance. I think it’s intriguing for him to play for Lon. Let him get a year older and work on his mistakes. Coach LK could get the most out of him.
Full release or not, the transfer rule is the transfer rule. He’ll have to sit if he goes to another D-I school.
No thanks.
I’m with you.
I’m going with OU snagging Frison, Parker, & Quick (no worries on Garnett). There are a few Auburn insiders that also believe Parker is going to OU. Gotta think OUs Cali-connection helps them out with Quick. And I’m just feeling optimistic about Frison.
I think that we will only get Parker & Quick,. I’m not so sure that we even get Garnett, he sure didn’t mention anything on twitter about his commitment to OU. Seems to me that the kid would of mentioned it on twitter.
Garnett’s twitter feed is full of OU stuff; OU shout outs from him, pictures of OU stuff etc., I think he’s ours and has been for quite a while.
DCinAZ:
Since he gave his verbal?
The last I saw was ND OV stuff and “Green Hearts”…which are ugly btw. lol
Prior to his verbal. Just seemed like he knew where he was going for quite some time and sent out teasers fairly regularly. I don’t see ND flipping him that easily, in that short amount of time. And Stoops is fond of his mother’s gumbo, and his mother is fond of Stoops.
I just watched Johnny B Good. Really funny to see it with the week that is looming for all these kids to make their choices.
One of the all-time great “one of those” movies
LOVE that movie.
Any word on how Parker’s visit to auburn went?
Didn’t affect things bud 🙂
Wow……very optimistic picks! I hope you’re right, but I can’t see us getting a perfect score on all 4 of these guys. You cats know more about this stuff tan I do but I’ll take a swing at it:
Parker – OU
Quick – OU
Frison – ASU
[Note: I think our coaches made a legitimate push with Frison and it’s genuinely going down to the wire for this kid. In the end, ASU has an innovative O-coordinator doing great things with ASU and that has shown on the field. OU had trouble with offensive identity all season last year and is tweaking the offense yet again, so there’s an “unknown” factor there for him to think about. Additionally, ASU is still pretty close to home for him, and as a transplanted, born and raised Okie now living in AZ, I can’t say living in OK competes with living in AZ and keep a straight face. This one goes down to the wire but his gut feeling wins out and he stays with ASU.]
Clark – LSU
[Note: I just haven’t seen or read anything from this kid that leads me to believe he’s high on OU or even an OU fan. It seems his heart is set on LSU and playing in the SEC. Now that his brother has been kicked off the team at OSU, he may want to get away from it all even more and he has seemed like he’s looking for a reason not to go to OU. It’s just how I read his tone.]
Anyway, hope I’m wrong and we do make a sweep on all four but the stars would have to align perfectly for that to happen IMO. We’ll see!
Stevie getting dismissed would be in OU’s favor if anything I would think. Hate to see family going through all that. But it might help if Dre doesn’t have to hear OU fans badmouthing Stevie’s team 2-times per year. That would be tough for a close brother. Not saying makes difference, but gotta lean towards helping potential of OU choice.
Like a lot of others, I feel better about Parker and Quick then I do Frison or Clark. Going to be a long next two days.
Sooners Junior Day visitor, Darreyl Patterson, and teammate of Jalin Barnett
https://twitter.com/OnLyHuMaN143/status/430465069801947136
I feel like Stevie being dimissed actually helps OU, if he has a strong relationship with his family then he will want to stay close during tough times.
I had the same thought.
Would put another burden on his Mom to be so far away.
I’m hearing some stuff on Mixon any chance he actually goes to UCLA
See Jordan’s remarks about that below.
Its out there that he visited UCLA this past weekend.
The pre-sign tornado’s are on the ground, don’t get too close to the swirling dust.
Mixon is on flip watch? Really?? Wth?
Read somewhere that LSU is trying to flip DE Sione Teuhema from Texas, as well as his 2015 OT brother (Maea Teuhema), because they were expecting Clark to flip. This was before his brother’s arrest this weekend.
Maybe he’s leaning towards OU after all.
Damn you do a lot of reading Leroy!, Maybe we should make you a deputy brainiac….HAHA!
Thanks mucho. How does “Deputy Leroy” sound?
Thumbs up!
Give this man a badge!
Anybody know where I can watch a NSD show if I don’t have have espnu
After reading these posts I’m kind of surprised at the order of preference on OU’s last targets. I would think Stevie is the most important not only that he’s a in state kid but he’s a DIFFERENCE maker.
Plus Coach Mike and Coach Stoops have recruited their a$$e$ off to get Stevie. I think their all important but if OU doesn’t get Stevie your talking about a major league buzz kill.
At least Frison hasn’t knocked the OU hat off the table, guess we’ll tune in Wed. morning.
Don’t feel good about Frison at all
It’s getting close guys…tomorrow and wednesday will be here before you know it!
Hope the kids in towns expecting the bad weather this week have a backup plan. I know Jenks was out today for snow and more ice and snow coming tonight and tomorrow. It’s happened before and coaches were panicking trying to get letters in.
FWIW Steve said he will be announcing in HS if there’s school and via twitter if it’s canceled, so it’s likely that they have backup plans in place.
The whole Garnett drama is weird. In the midst of the so-called indecision is some real narcissistic satisfaction of seeing “how bad someone wants me”. Damn, pick a school already. No matter where you go it won’t be perfect but it will serve you very well. I don’t buy the whole “but so much is at stake” bit. Since less than 1/2 percent will even get an NFL tryout, I would think academics and academic support would be more compelling since the programs are not that far apart football-wise.
Do you really think it’s weird? I just find it frustrating. Seems like most of the higher rated kids try to live in the moment for as long as they can, they seem to think it is a game. Can’t it just be good enough that the coach liked your mom’s gumbo?
No doubt. You gotta think the upperclassmen love getting these recruiting prima donnas in the first Oklahoma Drill. Just goes to show that have not the patience to be a college recruiter …. Or a cop… I could not get past one warning to,show me their hands.
HAHA, cops like for you to give a warning shot……but it doesn’t have to be the first one!
Been hearing some REALLY good news on the Frison front. Looking more and more like he’ll choose the good guys.
Anything you could share? I haven’t heard anything more than we’ve got a chance.
Ray you’re as bad as me…. Crimson junkie!!
It just kills me when someone says I heard something and just leaves me hanging……..I’m going crazy here! LOL.
My wife just did something like that. She walks in hands on her hips, gets my attention and pauses while murmuring “and I was going to ask you something important …. Hmmmm….”
LOL, nice to know there’s more than one wife like that in the world.
Over on land thieves some are saying a pay site is hinting at him committing…I’m gonna hold off for something a little more concrete before I get too excited about him choosing us
I don’t know policy about giving out info from a paid site, but a reporter for one of those sites posted a thread about Frison that he only posts when he’s as close to 100% sure as you can be when it comes to recruiting that Frison is picking OU. These type of threads from him are extremely rare and hold a lot of weight.
Thanks for the info, Once something is put out it’s fair game to spread the word in my opinion.
Some of his recent twitter post lead me to believe he is now seriously wavering but we shall see
Who is the “he” you are referring to?
Sorry, hope im wrong but was referring to Garnett.
I don’t make final score predictions, so I’m not going to try and out guess the mind of an indecisive teenager.
For those that haven’t committed, I wish the best and hope they make the correct decision.
What I want is not only the best possible talent for the Sooners, but quality young men. Players that want to be at OU, that have a fire in their belly to win championships.
I put more value in the type of person the young man is than how many stars they have beside their name. Those young men who committed long ago are my favorites right now, they want to be here.
One of the most recent commits, Jordan Thomas, has really impressed me. Not only for his athletic ability, but how he presents.
His contributions will extend beyond the playing field.
Right with ya Tex.
Thomas has Academic All-American stamped on his forehead.
Yep. That’s why Hatari Byrd has been on my radar. Guy decided and was done because no matter if another place was glitzier or whatever he fit OU and OU fit him.
Good point, how it “fits” matters.
I’m a big Perine fan, he committed to OU last March and never looked back. I expect many will sing his praises in years to come.
I’m hoping he can be as dominant on the field as Millard.
I don’t see him as a FB.
With his power, size and speed he would be a nightmare for LBs or safetys. I don’t if any of the current backs or other commits have the 4.41 forty he has.
I wasn’t meaning for that to be a position comparison, just the type of impact as a player. I think other teams feared Millard the way I hope they fear Perine.
Gotcha’.
