– Chris Daniels: For the past week or so we’ve talked about how important the in-home visits will be for Chris Daniels. Texas did very well during their in-home visit two days ago, but Diron Reynolds and Dennis Simmons apparently did the same during their in-home last night.
I will be speaking with Daniels Sr. more extensively later today, but he did give me some of his initial thoughts last night in saying the visit reminded them why they’ve always liked OU and Coach Reynolds so much. In fact, Daniels Sr. said regarding his son’s feelings about coach Reynolds and OU, “he has always had OU in his heart…he feels Reynolds is the best, so it makes it harder (to decide).” Daniels Sr. also sent out the following tweet this morning.
Just want to say @Coach_Diron is one of the best coaches/men I have ever met in my damn life!
— Chris (@OhNostanleyearl) January 28, 2016
I can tell you the Daniels family are very thoughtful about this process and, as I’ve been saying the past couple weeks, it’s going to come down to the wire.
Brandon feels OU has a slight lead, while I (Super K) think Texas is slightly ahead. At this point I won’t be surprised if he picks OU or Texas. In fact, the only thing that would surprise me is they chose a different school entirely as I feel it’s a very clear battle between the Sooners and the Longhorns. – (Super K)

– Tramonda Moore: Just a quick note regarding the 2016 OT, as many of you who read TFB are aware the Sooners had been leading here for a while. In fact Moore himself admitted to that not long ago. However, in talking to some people, we are getting a sense that his coaches ties to Ok State are starting to change things. And right now, the Cowboys are looking like they are going to make this one difficult for the Sooners. – (Brandon & Super K)
– Jared Mayden: In case you haven’t noticed, Kerry Cooks can recruit. First years are always tough for coaches at a new school, even Jerry Montgomery didn’t really hit his stride until Year 2. But Cooks has come in and not only improved the secondary by leaps and bounds, he’s also put together a really good first class. Cooks now has the Sooners in the Top 2 with CB Jared Mayden, who will decide between Alabama and Oklahoma.
Cooks and Bob Stoops had their final in-home visit with Mayden last night, the latter of whom and I exchanged a few texts following said visit. One in particular I thought OU fans would get a kick out of with regards to the HC.
As most of you know, Mayden tweeted out a video of Saban doing “the wobble” dance during an in-home visit earlier this week. Mayden said in jest about Stoops, “I tried to get him to milly rock” but evidently Stoops wasn’t up to that challenge. We found video evidence that Stoops did at least attempt to dance! – (Alex and Super K)
https://twitter.com/MaydenII/status/692722505455259648
– Zach Farrar: I spoke with a source last night to see where things stand with recent OU 2016 WR offer & Miss. St. commit, Zach Farrar (Southlake, TX). I had all but assumed a flip would potentially happen this weekend, but I was told there are people around Farrar that are encouraging him to stick with his current Mississippi State commitment.
The reasons being 1) MSU offered earlier and 2) he’s been told he will be allowed to play baseball there. I just wanted to make you all aware of this because as of yesterday, I really thought this one would be a done deal for OU once Farrar visited this weekend.
I still think the Sooners are hard to resist for someone so close, especially given the type of offense and quarterback play that Oklahoma has, but there is a little more suspense with this one than I had initially expected. – (Super K)
– Joshua Jacobs: I spoke with the 2016 OK Preps prospect, whose recruitment has reached a white hot state in recent days, and wanted to give you all an update as to where things currently stand. As most of you know, Jacobs is an electric in-state athlete whose name only recently starting really started making the rounds. Earlier this week Bob Stoops, Lincoln Riley & Jay Boulware all visited his school, and Jacobs was offered shortly thereafter.
Likewise, Missouri also offered this week after their head coach, Barry Odom, and OC, Josh Heupel, as well as a couple other coaches came down to see Jacobs and do an in-home visit. This was actually Missouri’s third time visiting Jacobs in just the past two weeks.
Alabama’s running back coach, Burton Burns, also stopped by to see Jacobs yesterday. Burns told Jacobs that he wants to offer him, but he needs final approval from Nick Saban. So Jacobs is expecting to hear back from the Tide sometime today with regards to whether or not an offer will be extended.
The family is considering where they will visit this weekend but unlike the original plan which was to visit one school, they are actually looking at the possibility of fitting two shorter visits in over the weekend.
Right now, Missouri seems like a school they’d really like to visit. The family has realy built a good relationship with Missouri over the past couple weeks. They have not yet decided on whether they will take a trip to OU, but did say that Jacobs has been to Norman several times in the past.
It seems the plan right now is to give schools that haven’t offered the rest of the school day today and then later this evening figure out their plans as to where they’ll head this weekend. – (Super K)

Ouch. Painful Open Post.
No doubt!
Nah, we have a legitimate shot at Mayden, Daniels, Farrar and Jacobs among others. We have been told by multiple people that Moore may not qualify anyway. I prefer to remain upbeat.
Right on, Abe.
Moore has supposedly about a 1% to make it into school so i wont sweat it
update added
I hope I’m wrong, but Daniels’ tweet feels like a consolation prize.
I hear ya. I will say, I appreciate hearing a positive review about Diron “the recruiter” nonetheless.
Not to mention that Chris hasn’t said anything about the visit…That or the kid is building the suspense.
Sounds like we are going to be in for a long NSD. Oh well, the last couple have been fun.
No bad news is good news. ?
ATTENTION TFB: YOU HAVE OUR PERMISSION TO HIT THE BOOM BUTTON AT ANYTIME.
(SOONER than later would be splendid)
That is all… thank you.
It’s a good day when we still have all our current commits. Decommits sting. As for kids that are undecided, those are birds in a bush.
Love to see Daniels come to this side of the Red River. Hope we close out well! I could have done without the video of Stoops dancing though..
The Jacobs situation has me the most discouraged. Absolutely hate to see Oklahoma kids OU wants go elsewhere.
Could not agree more. That would be a huge bust
I’m not discouraged yet, he went under the radar for everybody except Wyoming. He is a RB and Alabama just won a NC has been putting out great RB’s for a while, so I can definitely see why he is interested. Let’s see how it plays out and then maybe grumble a bit. I’m happy for the kid getting his due, no matter where he decides to go.
Good comment Lincoln. Also, just a note he had a few offers…Wyoming, North Texas and a few others (can’t recall them). He earned his North Texas offer at a camp this past summer.
https://twitter.com/Jordan_Esco/status/692736225157861377
I can only hope for the best for him. Hope he gets his degree and is successful at life.
I feel bad for the kid. He ended up in the same position his brother did, in the end.
I don’t understand this: “In fact, Daniels Sr. said regarding his son’s feelings about coach Reynolds and OU, “he has always had OU in his heart…he feels Reynolds is the best, so it makes it harder (to decide).””
Sounds like that should make it easier to decide unless the tilt is to UT.
Hey man, if you’re a Texas native and all your friends are going to UT… That’s pretty tough to overcome. Texas, with all it’s problems, has major appeal for a variety of reasons. Like I’ve said before, they do an excellent job of making you forget all the negativity surrounding their football program.
Not to mention. Between the prior relationships with the coaching staff and his friends being in Texas. He’s kind of being “that guy” by turning Texas down. That’s guilt trip city for an 18-year old.
I certainly understand the attraction UT has to Texas recruits. My point was the quote was inconsistent.
For sure. I think they are naturally gravitating towards “staying home”. So, at least we’re “making it difficult” for them to make the easier/comfortable decision to stay.
Thanks. You said it better than I. Not feeling good about this one.
Unfortunately, I agree. Stranger things have happened, though!
Friends don’t let their friends go to UT.
Lol, well said. You’ve gotta open your eyes to the Texas Football reality first. Otherwise you’ll allow yourself to get caught up in the “prestige” and women.
Maybe he means for HIM since he is the friend of texsa and not his son.
I don’t understand this whole situation. I would be utterly shocked if he didn’t sign with UT. Amazing they can come in so late and score with him. I can’t believe that he doesn’t realize that he is only a back up plan for them because they didn’t go after him sooner like OU did! Hopefully I’m wrong and he comes to Norman?
I thought the exact same thing. Sounds like a UT lean for sure..
As I see it, he can go to UT and probably see the field faster, judging from talent in the barn down there
Or he can come to OU and play with a better unit with better chances to win.
If he’s as good as projected, he should be able to fight through competition…in which case OU would be arguably the better choice.
We will see in a week.
There is a lot they like about Texas as well.
You all know the saying “If you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all”
So, this is what I have to say………………………………………………………………..
It looks like we are in 2nd place on a lot of recruits. The Miss Congeniality award is awkward.
“The friend zone”
Recruiting has gotten ridiculous. When you have coaches like Stoops and Saban having a dance off to try to win a commitment, something has gone way wrong!
I completely agree…you put the facts about the program out there and what you expect from the kid, what he can expect from you, and let them decide if they want to play at your school. This dancing, climbing trees, slumber party stuff needs to end
You mean to tell me grown men shouldn’t spoon with young men?
I would put this on the “what not to do” list
I respect your judgement in this matter & endorse it to the fullest extent
Just threw up in my mouth.
All of us not named Harbaugh have done the same.
Was just thinking that very thing.
Has gotten? What do you think they did back in the day??? There just wasn’t as good of technology!
I haven’t followed recruiting closely for all that long, but it seems to me that this year is way worse than previous ones in regard to de-commitments and kids doing visits after commitment. The 17/18-year-old kids really enjoy getting major college coaches to dance for them (both figuratively and I’m afraid literally).
I hear ya on that… I’m just saying, all the “under the table” type stuff that went on back in the 70s and 80s when there were less restrictions and eyes, man…. There was shady stuff.
Probably still is… But I’m willing to bet Switzer did a dance or two for a few guys as well 😉
Very good point. In a lot of ways it’s better now.
Can’t say I disagree but I guarantee you Switzer would have danced…he would’ve initiated the dance…would have taken dance lessons…would’ve worn a shimmering glove and moonwalked if need be…and he would’ve owned it haha.
Switzer would also have been throwing out $100 bills while doing so. LOL
Are we still talking about Switzer dancing or “somebody else”? HA
Naw, Barry had a huge personality. He would have done it with a big smile.
True story. I’m just saying. When you talk about dancing and $100 bills… That makes me think we moved to a different venue.
LOL! Probably a better venue than most of the posts in OP recently.
Good to hear from you today, btw!
Switzer would have said ” Hell OU invented the dance”
I wonder how Bear Bryant would react to being told to dance ?….lol
Bear: What’s that you want me to do boy?….
I won’t don’t dance but if you come over here closer I’ll kick you square in the butt
Back in the day Bear would have probably said, “Kid, give me 20 right now !” And he probably would have done it. Today, forget it.
Ahhh, a dancing bear! Great for the carnival, not so great for coaching.
Youngquist is no longer going to sign with OU. Don’t know the details, but that’s the word. Maybe Super K can enlighten us. It sure seems that we are snake bitten as we head down the stretch.
Unless you know something I don’t, and I’ve only seen one place who (to their credit) has anything on this, that is not the case. Or at least not as it’s being presented/I understand it (at this time).
Hale. Evidently its been confirmed.
yeah, sorry, I see that now. similar to what Scoop has. Sounds like it’s obv bigger than football. hopefull the young man and/or his family are okay.
confirmed by whom?
Let’s clarify – he’s not going to sign with ANYONE. I’m guessing its a medical issue – I hope the young man is okay, he was one of my favorites
OK, what did I say that wasn’t true?
Who is reporting this? please attach the report/link
It is pay content on 247.
Also pay content on Rivals last night.
not a oui member and I just read it there….hale didn’t cover it up
Link? I cannot find it.
247 oklahoma….it’s oui
I know that. I looked all over it and for some reason there isn’t anything showing concerning Youngquist. I even refreshed the page several times.
I have too. I believe it’s there but I don’t see it anywhere.
try reading a recruiting update 1/28
i just posted statement that I cut and pasted directly
I’m paying for something that’s free? Ugh.
no, one can go there anytime but usually reporters remarks are hidden in vip so all you have then is info from posters, which can be interesting……quit being member couple of yrs ago……..hale just happened to not hide this news for some reason
I just read the news on another site ($). I hope the kid is alright and can overcome his health issue.
Agreed. If its a medical issue, obviously our first concerns should be for Bryce. Hope it all works out for him.
I should correct myself – don’t know for certain it is medical. The exact word was “personal” in nature. Shame on me for assuming medical.
Yo, WTF? Weren’t you asked not to post this anywhere?!
dang someone’s mad lol
No, I wasn’t
So, there is no issue? And he will sign with OU?
yup, not signing anywhere, reported on oui…….thxs
So are they saying with certainty that he will NOT sign next Tuesday with OU/Anybody?
Yes.
The info available indicates this is not a decommit, but that he won’t sign, at all, on NSD. I interpret that to mean, if he gets whatever’s going on cleared up, he will then still sign with OU. Further, it’s not grades. It’s something personal.
There goes another 4-star. Wow. Ranking going down fast..
You word that as if OU is somehow at fault.
Sucks, but health > football.
Not sure how you interpret “there goes another 4-star. wow. ranking going down fast” as me believing it is OU’s ‘fault’. Not at all – how could I? Simply stating disappointment in ‘losing’ a 4-star recruit that sounds like won’t be signing – no blame or anyone at fault – just disappointing.
Maybe if it’s a personal medical issue, we shouldn’t speculate. Just my $.02
This is why I don’t get bent out of shape when OU offers some somewhat under the radar JUCO LB’s late in the process. You never know the whole story. Seems we may be losing one of our HS LB recruits, so you have to take bodies sometimes and hope for the best. Makes getting Kelly a pretty big deal. And maybe the kid from Utah.
Wish him the best! Health >>> FB
Snake bitten for sure. Darn it!
None of what you wrote in this open post seems reasonable except the part about Farrar.
1) Has always liked OU and thinks Diron is the best which makes the decision hard. Duh? Sounds to me like that should make it easier, especially since he was once committed and hadn’t heard from Texas until recently.
2) Bob did or didn’t dance, but Saban danced for them. Sounds like a key difference on which to make a serious decision that could affect one’s life. Guess if I were being recruited, I’s have the coaches do a hot dog eating contest and sign with the coach who ate the most in 30 minutes.
3) An electric athlete who suddenly became white hot, right under our noses. We just noticed him and when Alabama saw that, they rushed in too, but kid and family may be attached to Mizzou and it’s new coaching staff including recently hired fired OU OC. So much in this that just sounds questionable.
Only way Daniels picks Texas in this situation is if it’s his dream school, in which case he’s theirs.
You can bet we knew of any electric in state athlete yet didn’t offer him until late. Clearly we had preferred targets. Alabama going around scavaging for late commits.. So his choice is go to a losing program or go to an elite program as a late offer, probably at the very bottom of the depth chart where he’d have to prove himself.
This is the silliness of recruiting. Just one question, have you ever asked a prospective employer to dance for you during a job interview? I doubt it. I read it as a family that’s already made their decision.
As you seemed to allude to at the end, if you’re looking for reason when it comes to recruiting then you’re already starting off on the wrong foot.
With regards to your analogy about dancing in a job interview, I’d like to believe you realize that’s not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison.
Unless Jared has made a decision, it is very much like a job interview as Jared should be as interested in selling himself to Bob as Bob is to him. Bob knows Jared has choices, but certainly Jared knows Bob has choices too.
Sadly, recruiting is out of control. When ND parks their equipment truck in front af a recruits house, with no consideration for the rest of the neighborhood, it’s out of control. These coaches are supposed to be developing youngsters, not creating inflated egos.
In regards to Joshua Jacobs, being from North Tulsa as I am myself, I can understand why he would want to go further away from home when it comes to College, if that’s what he ends up deciding to do. Coming from North Tulsa is a hard thing to do and if this kid decides to move away from those influences so that he can better himself and potentially do something to better his family, I respect that 100%. I salute any young man who wants to rid himself of something or someone that hinders him instead of help him. I’ll be praying that his decision is one that is best for HIM and HIS family! #918BornandRaised
I grew up in South Tulsa, you are corrent there is a big difference. If he is really wanting to get away, Mizzou would be the choice.
I grew up in Tulsa/BA and went to OU, Norman is drastically different than North Tulsa. But if he needs to distance himself further due to other influences/people than I would 100% understand.
I grew up in east Tulsa, which isn’t nearly what north Tulsa is, although it has deteriorated over the years. I understand full well what the feeling is to want to get as far away as possible.
From the eastside as well. Nearly everyone I grew up with and their parents moved a long time ago.
East Tulsa is the new North Tulsa. For that matter, West Tulsa isn’t all that great, and South Tulsa is starting to get infiltrated. It’s almost to the point that you can’t live in Tulsa at all. You have to move to a suburb, and even now places like Broken Arrow, Jenks, Owasso and Bixby are seeing an increase in crime. Borderline epidemic.
You are missing a key ingredient- it is NO longer only economic, it is SOCIETY WIDE. It is in EVERY strata of society. It is a lowering of standards across the board. Ask any teacher who’s been in the game over 20 years.
Norman is quite different than either North, or East Tulsa- BTW every big city has it’s “areas.” None of it even remotely compares w/ East St Louis, or South Side of Chicago.
Marquis, are you in the OU Club of Tulsa? If not, we would love to have you.
Guys, I know there are a ton of charades involved with recruiting. But if you think Mayden is basing his decision to commit on whether Bob or Nick dances better, you’re fooling yourself. They’re just having a good time with the coaches that are visiting them.
It’s trivial and silly crap, but they aren’t having a dance-off for a commitment. They’re just “shootin’ the crap” with these coaches for the last time.
R-E-L-A-X
Signed,
Not Aaron Rodgers
Do you really think BS danced for fun? I just don’t believe it’s his basic personality to do that. Maybe if Chip was the one there he might have enjoyed it.
Bob is a good sport & if the kid wants him to “bust a move”, he’s not gonna be a scrooge & tell him to fly a kite.
Recruiting is about CONNECTING. Different personalities have to find a common ground. These kids are talked out & ready to have fun again. We should be happy that Bob isn’t a doucher about this kind of stuff, but instead seizes the opportunity to make a kid feel comfortable/liked.
I’m sure Bob is not the dancing type, as well. But again, it’s really all in good fun for bonding sake.
I use to see Bob on the club circuit all the time, out on the dance floor. Silk shirt and all!
Seems legit… lol
So that means no discount double check? ?
Get outta here, Brien! Ha. How you doing, brother?
Doing well man! Would be doing better without all the negative bs on here the last few days thankfully signing day is 5 days away. How you doing.
Blessed, man- thanks! I’m totally with you. It’s pretty sad to see 150 new names emerge on the discussion board when things are “at the worst” (contingent on signing day results) in the recruiting world. Always amazes me to see the trolls awaken and make their presence felt.
Recruiting is the slutty aspect of CFB.
Coaches now have to dance, sing a diddy, hop like a bunny, and make their funniest face to appease the recruits. Only then are they (recruits) able to decide where to further their education.
I hope there are no crybabies today. Lets save the whining and complaining until after signing day. Right now no one knows for sure whats going to happen, let it all play out and then the crying can start or not.
OU has always closed strong in recruiting, and I think we do so again this year
So you make a post complaining about people who MIGHT complain?
It’s like saying “don’t shoot my wife” (wink wink)

Howdy Metz – Missed the “morning” thread on the news.
Been a busy day at work Cush.
Well, SEVERAL of us miscreants do have to make up for the past couple of weeks – 🙂
And Morning errrr afternoon Cush.
Post of the Day right here. Gold I tell ya…
I’m throwing all my negativity towards those uniforms.
You’re right. They are hideous…it seems only the cool HS kids get the neon Unserarmor/Nike/Adidas stuff
Why are they not visiting Kelly for a late push? ND is…

Who said they aren’t? OU has their in-home w/ Kelly tonight.
BOOM! LOL.
YES!!!!!
‘Ol Jordan just left you in the eldusto amigo!!
I’ll take it. I asked that question hoping to be proven wrong.

I can read between the lines for Daniels. His Longhorn teammates should give him crap for baking an OU cake and then changing his mind. Wouldn’t you?
I thought it was Mayden who had the OU cake…???
We gave out quite a few cookie cakes but Daniels had his own OU cake made for his birthday announcement whatever.
They both did, but Daniels originally committed to OU by revealing his birthday cake was an OU cake.
I’m done. Getting really frustrating that people can’t wait to jump on the negative news and gloss over the positive. I am officially checking out until next week. Try not to hurt each other.
This may be the post of the day. I might do that, but what will I do with the extra ten hours in my day.
Cigars and scotch.
Stupid work is a smoke free and I think our new overlords made it alcohol free. Not like the old days when they served beer at the all hands meetings.
Metz is working and Golf has threatened to do so – dang we all must have gotten behind from last week.
I just finished payroll. Now I’m going to go and make sure I have all my tax documents done before the end of the month.
Bourbon
Beer
And some George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers!
Wife hates them, so I might be have to leave her at home, lol.
I just assumed this was a stag conclave – old guys, drinking, football talk = not too many women wish to participate.
That was my assumption as well. Guess we know what happens when we assume. LOL
JJ will bust you cush, with that kinda talk! 😉
Because we want to leave our spouses at home? LOL
Nope, just the implication that it would be all male gender.
Oh, well that wasn’t my assumption. My assumption was that all spouses would be left behind.
I know one spouse that if asked if she would like to attend such a meeting, would respond something to the effect of. Drop me off at my Sis’s house in Chatanooga, you have a good time. I think JJ is probably a bigger fan than my spouse, and when we go, she goes because she loves her dude! I was basically just clowning. We good!
I know you were, I was speaking in jest as well. Gotta lighten things up around here. LOL
As always friend!
just sayin’ —–
Cush is correct!
Makes sense to me. Bratwurst with mustard, on tortillas, might be necessary as well.
Look out from your porch – that’s nice. Good day to you Bob. You bring a nice subset of intellect to this otherwise Road Warrior landscape.
Thanks, will definitely sit out this evening. Right now I am at work.
Heads over to Bobs for the weekend no need for a parachute there lol.
Did you get the one I sent to you?
No sir not yet, tracking number says on the way tho!
Everybody meet over at Bob’s; no recruiting talk until after Wednesday.
See you there MoJo!
Man, some of the regulars are sensitive. It’s just football. It’s not like they are attacking your family.
Man, some of the regulars are sensitive. It’s just football. It’s not like they are attacking your family.
Yep. I’m with you.
When it all becomes just too much to bear, I always go to the links on the bottom of the page. Why just yesterday I learned of the four common foods that are destroying my digestive health.
Adblocker is a beautiful thing.
So is a snake eating a porcupine.
LOL!
Haha.
That bad, huh!
I’m with you. I’ll be back tomorrow.
Sounds like you are basically describing life in general – not just this site.
Bolton, DeBerry, Tay Evans, Hunter?, McGinnis, Parker?, Owkoronkwo, Rodriguez? (?=I’m not really familiar with the name, don’t even know if scolly players or not) These guys just rose on the depth chart at LBU, several are very good, talented players, some I don’t know. Doucet is a talented CC LB coming in. I still think Kelly will be like Mark Andrews was coming in when everyone was suprised when he exclaimed he didn’t even really consider anyone but OU. Who knows, maybe Youngquist works out whatever is keeping him from signing. I don’t think OU will put a team on field next year without LB’s, even if they bring a bigger safety or 2 up to play the outside. Something will work!
You didn’t even list our two JUCO guys coming in. We have numbers, just need some of them to work out. We need to go about 6 deep at linebacker probably, not counting guys playing on special teams.
I did mention Doucet, just not Beal. Nothing against Beal, I just don’t know anything about him yet. I don’t think he would have gotten an offer if it weren’t deserved. I do think Doucet is the real deal. I happen to think with reps OUr inside guys will be better than the ones leaving. It’s the outside guys I don’t know about. Like I said a big safety and some OLB’s are close to the same size. Do you know anything about the ?’s I listed, I don’t know much about them.
Beal’s coach said yesterday that Beal was as good as any linebacker he has ever coached.
That’s good to know. Usually the JUCO dudes don’t really get a good shake from the services, so one really doesn’t know what to think, I do trust Kish evaluating the guys. I am really looking forward to seeing some of these young guys on the field.
That’s good to hear about coach Diron! Keep up the good work TFB!!
I kind of look at wanting to visit Mizz as a decent sign that he would like to stay somewhat close to home & that it may eliminate others more so. We’ll see.
Diron putting in some work. I saw him out in Miami wearing just a t-shirt and he is JACKED. Another reason why the guys look up to him.
Good afternoon, KJ.
How’s it going today? Anyone cut their wrist today?
Should I stay a while or keep going?
keep going. it’s all in good fun.
I think all the regulars coming over to my house to sit out on the porch until NSD.
Okay. That’s all of the encouragement I needed. I will check back tomorrow.
I’m up for that!
Heres my RSVP.
Heres my RSVP.
Send someone to Bucksville to pick me up, or clear all the streets around your house. 😉
LOL
Hey SAM! Going as well as can be expected, hope all is well, my boss keeps trying to make me work… and its keeping me from hanging out in here all day! You should stay….fending off trolls and naysayers and posters who pump us for info and run to the other sites to act like they have news is FUN! 🙂

I don’t get it how people can have such weak minds. It’s almost like they’ve never face any adversity. It doesn’t appear I need to read anything below so I think I’m done for the day.
I know…and you’re right…it’s a mindset….when we were sitting there in Dec getting ready for the bowl game how many of those people were sitting at home thinking…wow…I wish we would of landed 5 star recruit back in Feb. If they sign great…if they dont…then oh well…were still going to go out and kick teams in the cajones regardless.
I love this comment KJ! So freaking true!
Yep – ‘cept them damn texsa steers – those have been served up for the mountain oyster special.
Sam, we’re trying to calm the herd. Good Morning to you sir.
You may as well be bearing down on a whistle while standing underneath a tornado siren. I don’t care what you say, the whistle is never going to rise above the noise a siren makes.
We’re going to try yodeling next – have to avoid a stampede at all costs.
Facts sir.
I guess with no pants he fit right in on South Beach.
He’s not a Sooner but some of us could surely use this…

Great message.
2016 Heisman winner right their.
I kinda wish people in the know would release the full info about youngquist. Releasing very little leaves everyone to speculate.
It has been quiet…but honestly I think it’s just totally shut down…recruiting wise. Just waiting until Wed morning to send in the paperwork.
Que? No comprende.
He’s wondering what in the hell actually happened with Youngquist – obviously recruiting isn’t shut down – we’ve still got home visits going on
He still has home visits going on? With other schools?
KJ – I think he is talking about OUr visit with Kelly and others that are still upcoming. Youngquist deal will be revealed by his family this weekend – perhaps the coaches knew about this and expanded to some of the later recruits.
OH ok I got you Cush. Yeah I dont know I haven’t heard anything about Youngquist not signing. If someone leaked something on a different site thats another story, also trusting that info as well. If it’s an admission issue OU will bust their butts to get him enrolled. I don’t think it’s a change of heart issue….but who knows. Que went through an admission issue last year and still got signed. Also as everyone knows, he doesn’t have to sign on signing day. Just hope it’s nothing serious.
KJ – it is quoted as being “personal” and that he will not sign with any school. Some spot said his parents will comment this weekend. Otherwise it is conjecture about speculation.
Thanks Cush.
Hey bud, what cush said.
Got it sorry for the confusion.
I cut and pasted statement off ou insider – obviously it was deleted. It said the family would release a statement at later date.
I’ve been away working, guess i missed this. What is the deal with Youngquist?
Yeah… Fill me in
There’s some mention of it below, but basically som sort of personal matter is going on with the kid but that’s all that’s been released. And now hale is saying he’s not signing with ou (or anyone for that matter). But as Brad mentioned the family will address the issue later.
Dang, thanks for the info! Really liked this kid, would like to find out what it is that is going on.
Prayers for Bryce
Of course!
What’s up Zack? Which way are you hedging your bet on Kelly? The suspense is going to be fun!
We land Kelly I have very little doubt in that. I think we land Daniels and mayden too.
If it is medical, there are laws that can control what you say.
Sooner scoop is not bound by the hippa rules.
IMO….I think the kid out of Tulsa Victory Christian, Jon Michael Terry is going to be the underrated pick up of this class.
Someone screamed “SALE!!!” and it got chaotic, I see. I’ll see all of you tomorrow. I have little tolerance for irrational behavior. I’m done for the day. Peace be with you all, my friends.
And also with you.
https://media.giphy.com/media/QoesEe6tCbLyw/giphy.gif
Why is it that everyone says making the playoff helps you more in the following recruiting class as opposed to the current class? I don’t understand why this would have a huge effect on current prospects. Maybe someone can enlighten me.
Shows your program is headed in the right direction and one of the top 4 in the nation.
Most have already made up their minds by January.
Also many recruits had already narrowed down quite & a but made significant in roads with other staffs by mid Nov when OU made biggest strides in CFPp
I think the consensus is that it’s more likely to be reflected in 2017 class.
Not if you don’t have a successful season in 16. With the way kids flip flop OU better take advantage of the 15 season.
I don’t think they are “not taking advantage”, we have at home visits going on, we have a few w/e visits, heck we even have Stoops dancing for a recruit. They are OUt there trying. Remember some of the offers have nothing to do at all with the success of the program.

Glad that bob is doing whatever he can do within his power to get kids to come here, if we miss on these kids, wont be due to lack of effort.
Really hope youngquist/ his family are ok, would hurt to lose someone of his potential, but gotta do whats best for them. Wish them the best either way.
I see Daniels’ Sr’s tweet about Reynolds as the kiss of death. To me, it’s saying “I think you are the most amazing guy in the world, but I think we should both see other people”. Not a psychologist, but 60+ years of life experiences tell me that this is not going to end well for OU. I hope I am wrong and if I am I will be the first to happily admit I was wrong (unlike someone who shall forever remain nameless to me). It just looks to me that Sr is starting the process of letting OU down easily.
That’s how it read to me, as well. It smacked of doubt and remorse. Like he fears that deep down he should follow this great role model, but he has kind of made up his mind to take the risk that Strong will even be there in a year.
You guys got turned down to much. Those of us that have had better luck see this as good.
Lol!
If he wants immediate playing time he will likely go with saxet. Personally that will not be the right coarse for development, but sometimes shiny objects are enough.
Damn, just tell Farrar he can play baseball and wrap this baby up!!
I don’t remember Bob ever discouraging a player from being a multi-sport recruit. I can’t see that as an issue.
I can’t see it either. It keeps coming up in the write-ups, but it should be a non-issue.
I don’t think it comes up all that often, but I can’t remember a single instance where it has been an issue Mojo.
Agree
Thought i read somewhere that Bob discourages it in a players freshman year.
I hadn’t remembered that, but is that even an issue if they come to OU on a football scolly? Trying to remember, can you play both your freshman year?
Im not sure Rick, just recall reading that,as a freshman adjusting etc.
Didn’t Cody play both
He did, at least one year, I just don’t remeber if it was his freshman year.
http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209395287&DB_OEM_ID=31000
Metz, All I remember him saying (and emphatically) was that he didn’t want them to be bench-warmers. If they can play, yes – if they just fill a uni, no.
From what I’ve heard, OU has told him they want him to concentrate on football his freshman year.
Thats it Dave.
I think that is probably a pretty good policy. I pretty much loaded up on hours my freshman year to get the basic courses out of the way. I can see where too many hours in the books and too many days on the field the freshman year, might not mix well.
All is good in Sooner land! We got a great team waiting to do work in 2016!
Baker
Perine
Mixon
Anderson
Dede
Baxter
Quick
Mead
Todd
Andrews
Walker
Ward
Overton
Gallimore
Evans
Arthur
DeBerry
Parker
Thomas A
Thomas J
Austin
Seibert
Ross
Good point…overall we are a pretty young team.
#WeTooDeep
Biggest weakness last year was the Oline…you didn’t even list one guy

LOL at your caption
It will suck if Texass out recruits on in 2016
Texsa almost alway is “rated” higher than us every year. I’ve heard they still suck!
Its 12:27 and yes texsa still sucks!
12:34 and Texass still sucks
By golly, you are BOTH right!
At the sound of the tone, texsa sucks!
texas sucks all the time and all the time texas sucks!
I am waiting for the 1:00 update to be sure things remain on track 🙂
Charlie Skrong is bald and texsa sucks.
Heyyyyy im folliclely impaired.
haha
The sky is falling.
For sure – except at Bob Edwards porch.
Ok gotta go yell at guys, see yall in the am.
Have good evening!
Is there something wrong with the mobile version of the site? I see my comment i posted earlier on the PC version, but its missing when i look at the mobile version.
Mine is the exact opposite.
Use your open eye. cc: @disqus_IRi4e0zRJY:disqus
https://vine.co/v/eelYqr2iqBa
haha, i assure you, got both eyes open. Not a big deal, just alerting them to a possible issue, since i know a lot of people use the mobile version in today’s day and age.
Haha thanks. I assumed it was a simple fix.
When is the first Jr. Day? Is it Saturday?
It is this weekend not sure if Sat or Sun
Haven’t seen a visitor list yet but hopefully we can snag a commit over the weekend. I think TFB reported that Okudah will be there so that’s huge in and of itself.
Only an aggie… http://www.businessinsider.com/russell-okung-free-agency-email-a-big-problem-2016-1
re jacobs and why overlooked, fwiw, via oui poster…..
“Here was the info from James in that thread – “Coach Jacobs feels that Joshua flew under the radar because they held him out of about half of his junior year because of a shoulder injury, and then he moved to quarterback his senior year and switched his number from 28 to 8. Many coaches of told Coach Jacobs that they couldn’t find number 28 so they didn’t spend much time looking at the rest of his film.”
Makes sense, Samia was under the radar because he only went to one national camp after his Jr year I think. And he didn’t start his recruiting until late. Jacobs is a really nice find.
so coaches didn’t ask questions when they couldn’t find 28…….comical if true, but it also shows coaches from somewhere were looking for him……on same board, fwiw, read that riley found out about him on tip from coach somewhere else……..coach jacobs is kids father?, if so, makes it stranger
http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/writer/jon-solomon/25465110/the-big-12s-biggest-concern-should-be-its-football-talent-drain
das no bueno
That article is too negative. The author acts like the “sky is falling.” He’s “irrational,” no wait a “troll” blah, blah, blah, rinse, repeat same old stuff every day. /s It’s not the school or coaches that’s hurting us, it’s the lack of talent wanting to play in the conference.
Not to mention that CBS Sports is quick to bash the Big 12 since it doesn’t hold a television contract to broadcast Big 12 games. CBS Sports and it’s partner 247Sports is all about hyping up the SEC all day every day.
What is the deal with Ryan Parker? Did he officially decommitt and open up his recruiting?
No decommitment, just has some work to do in the classroom.
He is no longer listed as a commit on ESPN and Rivals. In fact ESPN says he decommitted in January of 2016.
I just went to his twitter page. He is having academic problems. He still considers himself a Sooner, and says he has been told he has time to fix whatever problems he has. I don’t have any official OU info, just what is on twitter.
Are all, some, or any of the below in for ov’s this weekend? Have you heard of any more?
Zach Farr
Mark Jackson
Maxs Tupai
Joshua Jacobs
Jauan Williams
Erik Swenson
Kapri Doucet
Braxton Pickard
Seems accurate, no?
HA!
Ha, not too shabby? Hook a brother up with an upvote, man. We gotta get the morale up on TFB, today!!!
Done & commented.
…texsa CD has time in December of 2016 to watch ALL the bowl games with his Ex-Coach. OU CD is collecting his first B12 champ ring.
If you continue spewing facts, I’m going to have to request the TFB Mods remove you immediately.
Well Jake, sometimes ya’ jus’ gotta’ call’em as ya’ sees’em.
I needed that laugh. I was starting to lose my will to live!
LOL! Awesome to hear you enjoyed it. I was needing a good laugh myself and knew my fellow TFB’ers could use a good shot in the arm.
THAT, was good……slow clap
Thank you, kindly! I enjoyed putting that bad boy together.
Atta’ boy, Chip.
Coach Viney +1000 times!
So Chip is staying??
I sure hope so, man!
Cush +1000 times as well!
Love me some good coaching and recruiting and THAT is Coach-Chip all over!
Send him to Chris Daniels house. and back to Caleb Kelly’s….
This dude signed a nice fat new contract with OU yet?
That would be a BOOM in my opinion!
Good deal for the young man! His is very light. I hope he gets some bulk before North Texas throws him out in Non-Conf against P5 schools.
Really, really cool for an Oklahoma kid. It’s always a good deal when you see a kid get the opportunity to go to the next level.
This is awesome. Wished he’d have come to OU! We (now) like short qb’s with a chip on their shoulder.
Same kid i said 2-3 days ago that OU should give an walk-on offer too!
https://twitter.com/jasonkersey/status/692795004759216128
all Boren can do is talk, nothing will happen. it sucks, OUr hands are tied. Only one thing can help it though. Whoop that UTerus ass on the field.
https://twitter.com/GuerinEmig/status/692793352446586880
I don’t often agree with anything that comes out of Boren’s mouth, but I like this.
As soon as UTerus says they are not changing the LNN, Boren should get the lawyers working on getting out of the Big 12. While the lawyers are at work, call the other P5 conferences and see who is ready to add OU. Then, either Texas comes to the table or OU moves on. Otherwise nothing is going to change.
he should’ve been doing that anyways. they’ve basically already said they won’t do it. think about it, would you want to split a piece of that pie? no way.
Agree, just tried of the talk. Time to force their hand.
Until we are prepared to sever with okie st., nothing’s going to happen. If we do, suddenly, we’re in the driver’s seat.
https://twitter.com/kp_projectt/status/692795921097076736
Lovin’ it, RBear!
gotta keep the good vibes movin’
Yes sir!!! That’s what I tried to do in my post below (Chris Daniels Cable/Directv) pictures. Gotta lighten the mood and get the OU Brethren happy again, ha. Check it out if you get a minute!
saw it, clever!
Jake is proud of that!
Jake is definitely proud of that. Is Kelly pleased with Jake’s post? ;]
Kelly loves Jakes post. Jake must have State Farm.
Jake used to have State Farm. But State Farm isn’t as cheap/friendly as Geico. Now, Jake has Geico. Kelly is appreciated for playing along.
This is not helping in recruiting!!
https://twitter.com/kp_projectt/status/692795921097076736
LOL!
We were all wondering about LB offers, at least if there’s something to the Youngquist stuff it will answer part of those questions.
I hope the guy just turns out to be healthy. I’ll worry about the commitment stuff later. If his health/personal situation is okay, that’s a win in my book.
For sure.
I agree with douche bag. This definitely explains the Beal offer.

keep up the good work?

Jo-juh bound?
Florida State
Yes, UGA for the weekend. But likely FSU in the fall.
Meh, can always use quality depth, but if our current OT’s stay 4 years, I’ll be really happy with that situation for the next 3.
I agree that the OL looks good going forward.
But OU won’t be a national title contender unless they improve quality depth. At just about every position.
We were a contender last year. With Freshman OT’s.
My point was overall quality depth.
For instance QB (after Baker), WR (after Sterling and Dede), DL (struggled vs Clemson as the game went on since Walker was hurt), and LB (struggled vs. Clemson after Evans went out)
Yeah and I agree with you that quality depth is important. But we were definitely contenders last year, and it’s hard to compare anyone with Bama right now. Throw them out and we have about as much depth as everyone else.
Well Bama sure, but even other elite teams like Clemson and Ohio State do that.
I mean Notre Dame made it to the Fiesta Bowl after having tons of injuries last season
Obviously it takes time to get there and I’m optimistic about some of the recruits coming in. The OL is definitely improving
I understand, yet I think you would be more accurate to say WIN an NC, since we certainly competed for one by making the final four – a hundred and twenty odd teams did not.
Recruiting, like political campaigns, goes on too long. It is foolish to watch 50 year old men swoon over kids who either play the game or are so indecisive they aren’t ready for college anyway. The system should encourage, no demand, that kids grow up. We have 18 and 19 year olds in war zones making life or death decisions and a football player who has been recruited for several months if not years can’t make a decision. Frankly, this is the second worst thing about college football, behind the ridiculous money that’s spent on it, and it’s only going to get worse until many current fans can’t afford to go to games.
Some of us watch the Hallmark channel and it makes us feel better. You should try it sometime. 🙂
SD is on the Hallmark channel.
Naw, he is critiquing the acting and complaining that they don’t get the same talent as Lifetime TV.
Is that why I always tear up when I watch a Lifetime movie?
My son is often in a war zone, he says there is no greater joy for him to be able to download the youtube vid of the latest FB game. It’s something that all his buds and he looks forward to. There is a lot of money in college football, I don’t know if it’s too much. The money that is generated by OU’s football team is able to fully fund the programs and a portion of the overage goes back to the general fund to help keep the costs lower. I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I can’t speak to that of all soldiers, but I know 1 and his buds, they don’t think the money spent is ridiculous. It’s money spent helping them have some normal healthy off time in a region that is not normal or healthy.
Switzer would tell recruits that they have a choice, “play for us and win, or play against us and lose.” Wish it was that simple today.
I don’t want to lose Bryce….
So I have fully established that I can count on Maverick, RBear, Zack, Kelly, Rick, Cush, Jake, and Golfluver to be on here regardless. Rather they always see things my way or not they all seem to be open minded and have mostly positive outlooks. EastTex and a few other regulars seem to take a break during this time thanks to the trolls. I know fully well that most seem to get frustrated with my glass is half full outlook but, that’s how i choose to be. Cause no matter who we sign I will I still be a Sooner fan, I will embrace any kid that we get as long as they come in wanting to be a Sooner and they act and play like one. Yea it suck we miss out a few kids but, I am not sold on the fact that we can’t compete without a said impact class look at Stoops through the years we still do well. Anyone really want to go back to the Blake and Gibbs era’s? Not I. The sun will set today and will rise again tomorrow and life will carry on and if you love the Sooners you will no matter who we get. BOOMER!!!!
EDITED!!!
SorrySoonerthunder and SoonerinLondon they are all solid also!
this post is too happy and makes my butt hurt. (you know what you signed up for when you decided to read my comment, don’t be mad.)
Well played!!! But better get to the Dr about that butt issue!!!
And you should remind them no means no and maybe your butt wouldn’t hurt 🙂
Well now I know how you really feel about some of us. SOONER!!!!!!
OK, I am talking about the regulars that normally either agree or disagree with me lol! I am not use to all of you yet lol! But there is a lot of out of the blue troll posters this time of the year!
Been here for a while, usually comment in the morning time. And watch from a distance after that. Ask anyone on here what my key phrase is or you can go check for yourself.
I will guess since it’s in the morning it’s something to the affect of? Morning or Good Morning lol,!
No just try and let everyone know “It’s always a great day to be a SOONER”!!!!
Well to that I can not disagree!
Ok, I will go back to watching from afar until morning.
Hey, I know you. You’re that “Great day to be a Sooner” guy!
And I forgot Sooner Ray but thought you was gonna be taking a break as well!
I am, doesn’t mean I’m not keeping up. 🙂
I think we lost dhuntersanchez though he has been MIA for a bit as has EasTex
this has been edited as well
I saw him on here a couple of days ago, maybe it was the negative nellies that sent him away. I think next year I am taking the entire month of January off, after OU wins the natty of course!
In the words of Joe Dirt “RIGHT ON”
Thats me. No matter what, well unless they bring back Schnelly.
I sat at some of those games, as well as Blake. Didn’t change my Sooner status one bit, although I wasn’t always in a good mood. 🙂
Now dont get me wrong. I still loved em but him not so much. But i can say that he is the only coach to have not lost nor won against Texsa in OU Football History.
…because Stansbury was in.
HAHaHa, Could have been some pipe smoke got in his eye!!
Been around here for a while. Don’t post all the time but read every day just about. Dec. 2014 to July 2015 was out of town working and didn’t post much but read every day. I was upset about OU recruiting this time last year and it all turned out OK. There’s nothing I can do about it and gripping just runs my blood pressure up. Then I need something to drink and that doesn’t help. Rant over and “happy hour is here for me.
LOL! 47, I still care about ya! 🙂
I know Golf;-)
Oh hey, would you look at that it’s 1451 and texas still sucks!
>>>
And…
There you go Golf! Now I don’t have to bother poor Metz every time I need to know the time. 🙂
I’m always trying to help out. LOL
I went Ape-Crazy over this post. Bravo, Brien! I’d like to argue with a glass half-empty guy. yOU cannot convince me that the glass is not half-full. Facts are facts ;]
It is a matter of perception and perhaps how one views their own life but, I am not perfect nor am I well off but, I am better than most and have my health so I must be doing pretty good!
Right on. And you know what, i THOROUGHLY appreciate our TFB Mods for not blowing smoke up our butts. They tell it how it is, even though they know unpopular news is highly unattractive.
They’re the real deal.
The glass is both half-empty and half-full at the same time – by definition.
NONSENSE, TIM.
SOONER! Amen brother! And we don’t always have to agree, but we are almost always positive when we disagree. Carry on!
We rarely disagree tho we are usually the ones teaming up to get other people to pull their heads out
Yeah…guy’s are awesome!
We try! LOL You aren’t too shabby yourself!
I agree with your attitude. Negativity has no place here. We can be in favor of improvement without being all twisted about it.
I choose to keep my glass full so I don’t have to worry about it being half full or half empty
SOONER!! Hello gentlemen. Looks like the sun came out this afternoon and it’s safe to come aboard.
Welcome back Slim! Did you get your “work” done?
Absolutely! Got lonely over at the daily. Nap was refreshing. Sadly, no Boom yet.
We will have LOTS of booms next week! We can talk about them then. 🙂
I’ve got my Boomer all ready to go.
Me too!
I’ve always stay positive. Don’t forget Sanchez.
He’s included down on this thread a little.
I appreciate the positivety, this board gets carried away. As a die hard sooner fan, I am here for the ups and downs. Stoops is a great coach I am happy with him. I think he a great fit for OUr program. Could someone else do better? Of course. I never understand why people go back to the Gibbs and Blake era like that is OUr only other history. On top of every other unmatched accolade, no other school has 4 coaches with over 100 wins. Which means coaches have more success here than anywhere else. We should always expect success and titles. The Gibbs and Blake era was barely a blip. Let it die.
Well yea I get it was a blip but that’s why I ask do they want to return to that time. I feel some get too carried away when they say 10 wins is not cutting it well I am pretty sure I would take 10 wins a year vs some of those years those guys had is all!
10 wins isn’t cutting it unless titles are attached. This is Oklahoma.
Well it’s better than most still yet!
True. But not good enough for the Switzer Center.
I am forever lurking … all day erryday and appreciate all the posters you mentioned, as well as, the entire TFB staff/community. Here’s to closing strong on Feb 3rd gentleman (and ladies). Boomer!
Brien,
I would love to be on here more to discuss everything that goes on. I can’t post at work but can read everything what people say. Some people take this was too seriously. I understand it is the future of the program but there is nothing we can do. We have to trust the coaches and let them do their jobs. I know that when I wake up in the morning no recruit is going to affect me at all.
update added
To my knowledge, OU has Swenson, Jackson and Tupai coming in for officials. Am I missing anyone?
+ Doucet and Farrar
Farrar, at least for now. And I think one or two of the JUCO LBs might come in. But other than that, you’ve got everyone.
Forgot about Farrar. Thank you, sir.
Some good news for what it’s worth. Today 3 cb predictions for Swenson to OU from Evan Flood, Tom Loy, and Richard Schnyderite
1st after update!
NICE!
Williams cant make it due to weather im guessing?
what weather. It is sunny and 65 in Houston. JHF>
howdy woofer!!!
Hes on the east coast isnt he?
Yeah, Washington D.C. I think.
He was supposed to come last week I thought and the weather got him – I think he is going to GA or some such this weekend????
ahh, dang. thx
I live just around the corner from him. The area is still digging out but you can get wherever you need to. Weather is not the reason.
shoot, thought we had a shot there.
Anyone had a chance to look at Erik Swenson the ot coming in for ov this weekend. He is listed at 6-7/305. Pretty big old boy-no make that a man.
I hope someone tells Coker to get his passes down, before his best receiver gets hurt.
https://twitter.com/ChaseGoodbread/status/692810766454542336
That was a horrible pass!
Trust me… Nfl scouts saw that and said
1) That coker dude almost injured the best wr in the draft.. what a dick
2) That coker dude could easily injure one of my wrs…
uhhhh
Pass.
Why is Coker their , he is terrible.
He is “their” QB – their being SEC SEC SEC and Bama – living on that rep
Right. He’s there to represent the SEC and Bama because of their recent NC that they’re rightfully so proud of, but that pass was wicked bad. It’s a good thing Shep is tough
He played lights out in their last 3 games. He definitely deserves to be there.
I hope shep has a great nfl career but I do worry about his size/durability….he’s never been hit like he will be
There was a recent article about his size and durability. I can’t find it right now, I think I read it a day or two ago, might have been day one of Sr. Bowl week. The NFL scout, liked his size and durability, and reported dude was tough.
lot of nfl receivers bigger than him get clocked going over the middle and have trouble getting up…..serious business, that nfl…..hope he gets some pointers from broyles/clayton et al to learn the ropes
I hope he goes to a team that has a good QB and knows how to use him.
Coker would get it down if he could :).
Sure left Shep out there to get hurt….poor throw in my opinion!
Think about this (ratio’s may not be right; something like this may have been written already). Say I need 4-5 LB’s. I’ve offered 12 LB’s. My top choice is giving nothing but good vibes and I’ve got 4-5 others with very good communication and feel great. I push for commitments and 2 of the 5 at the top commit. Just need two more. I’ve slowed down communication with the bottom half of my board and the non-offers I’m scouting. I’m not looking around much for new prospects to scout because I feel great about these players!!. As NSD draws near, the vibes start to get shaky, rumors are flying, other schools are needing LB’s also and guys are looking around. Then one of my commits has potential grade issues. Texas, ND, LSU, are poaching some of my board. NSD is two weeks away, what now? It looks like I might get 1 or 2 (or none) of my 12 offers and I need 4-5 LB’s. Its back to work finding whatever I can find because I need 4-5 LB’s. Juco, 2 star, I need 4-5 LB’s. Now I’m in late on players; my board might be ruined. My point is you NEVER (or very rarely) can be certain some of these young men will sign. Family, HS coaches, other college coaches, friends all weigh in and there’s no way the coach who’s trying to recruit the players can know all that’s going on. Just my opinion.
Couple of options that will stop or at least slow this down :
Join the SEC (get GREAT 3, 4* and top of the line 5* kids EVERY YEAR, pick and choose National (TEXAS) recruits)
Join the Pac 12 (get GREAT California recruits, pick and chose Texas recruits)
Join the Big 10 (be happy with recruits who dont want to go to OSU, Michigan, Texas recruiting would stop more than it has already.. see Nebraska.. again NEBRASKA)
Have ND and Cincinnati join the Big 12. (helps the Big 12, all of the Big 12). National perception for the conference would be at a all time high and should be like it or not ND is a National brand.
Have Central Florida and Memphis join the Big 12 ( helps get the conference in the doors of more talent in Florida and Tennessee. But wont help the National perception of the conference as a whole.
There is a -47% chance of ND joining the Big 12.
Wow you mean we have a chance, then I seen the minus sign. lol
Exactly. IF ND ever decides to join a conference, their recent arrangement with the ACC has pretty much all but guaranteed that that is where they’ll end up. At least, if they decide to do so in the next decade or so, and barring any major re-alignment surprises.
“Soo, your saying there’s a chance”….
3 crystal balls for Swenson to OU in the last hour; all from BIG10 guys.
Yeah seen that.
Anybody got the lowdown on my Michigan pulled Swenson’s offer? Looks like its gonna be a nice get for the sooners regardless.
Do we have a visitors list for this weekend?
Zechariah Leviticus
Sounds country strong
Zach Farrar, Mark Jackson, Maxs Tupai, Erik Swenson, Braxton Pickard, Kapri Doucet, and a long shot of Joshua Jacobs.
Thank you! Very much appreciated.
Note: that’s only the 2016 croots
Yes not sure about the Junior day. Have you any info on the junior day recruits?
Is swenson the kid who got his scholly pulled by harbaugh?
yes.
Thanks, the name sounded familiar. Hopefully their loss is our gain
re: Swenson
https://twitter.com/Jybrainiac/status/692810297938173952
Would absolutely be a steal this late in the game. Bedenbaugh shows huge ability to finish. See Orlando Brown two years ago.
Thanks for the info! I am heading to Hudl to see.
Thanks, was hoping somebody had looked at his Hudl. I viewed it but he just seemed to maul everybody. Had long arms.
JY, whats the story on him and Michigan?
Don’t remember the whole story but he was committed before Harbaugh come in, I think . Seems like they had a couple others who Harbaugh liked better. Evidently he was told no room for him.Maybe a little karma didn’t Jordan Elliot stud dt just decommit from Michigan and is supposedly headed to Texas. Looks like Texas is recruiting over Chris Daniels.
Fine by me. Daniels, come on down to OU.
Never wanna get too high or too low. Not as good as it seems nor as bad.
Nice to see Marcus Green on campus at NEO. Good luck to that young man.
Is that the corner back from Cedar Hill, Tx. ?
yes, left or removed from the team, whichever story is true.
He stole from lampkin and someone else.
Harbaugh is turning this whole thing into a circus- hopefully not a point of no return:
https://twitter.com/zach_barnett/status/692817224667516928
I’d like to see if OU could have A.D., DeMarco, GK McCoy, Williams, Stephenson, Lane Johnson, Gresham, and others for OUr signing day.
What a clown. It’s kind of funny, but I don’t want to like it.
I think we’re beyond that point unfortunately. If a living legend (eww) of a coach like Saban has to dance in a kid’s house, what does that mean for everyone else?
exactly- I doubt Stoops is long for this tactic
Jim Ross?
Sorry if posted and I missed it but what are the top schools Swenson is looking at and is there any correlation between Williams not coming and Swenson coming?
I don’t think there’s a correlation, I think it’s the OU staff taking advantage of a very good opportunity this late in the game. Especially considering the fact that it looks like Moore is going to end up at LosuR or the Juco route, this is a blessing falling out of the sky.
Yep, I think it may have more to do with Moore than Williams.
Kelly, Daniels, Mayden, Swenson, Jackson. I think 3 out of 5 would be a win.
Tupai
Really want this kid.
you and me both
Wish we could’ve found a way to get a hold of Kongbo too.
Daniel’s Twitter is crawling with UTerus stuff now. I think he gone…
Daniels is traveling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniels waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniels, must be the clouds in my eyes…
Well played.
Bye Bye!
Very nice and creative. Good stuff bear.
Just out of curiosity, if we dont land jackson, could JMT fill that OLB/DE void? He seems to be getting bigger by the day, and hes already got the athleticism to play that role.
We’ve got 65 scholarship players returning (after removing Cody Thomas). We’ve got 18 either currently committed or signed in this class. 1 of those is a soft commit and 1 may be injured and not able to sign. We are actively recruiting 13 others, to some degree. Assuming Cobb flips and Youngquist can’t sign, and assuming no one currently on the team leaves, we’re sitting at 81 and have 4 spots for 13 uncommitted prospects. Some of those 13 are either/or prospects, so OU would not take all of them if they wanted to come. It’s hard to get a good read as to how many more OU will accept, moreso than any other year that I can remember. I think OU has a realistic chance at Swenson, Mayden, Moore, Jacobs, Farrar, and Kelly, although I don’t think OU gets all of them. I think OU still has a chance at Daniels, Jackson, Southall and Tupai, although I can’t tell how good a chance. I think Blue is an option if OU doesn’t get Kelly or Jackson perhaps, and I think OU is probably out on Velus Jones and Jauan Williams, although stranger things have happened. This will be a NSD unlike any other that I can recall, in that in most years, I knew who to expect OU to sign, with one or two possible unknowns. This year is far from that.
I think we might potentially lose another 1-2 players, so that would up it to 6 or so spots.
Good look at the big boys…
https://twitter.com/CoachAllgood/status/692830324993069057
Roberson looks like a young coach B.
Where did Allgood come from?
I wanna say he used to be on the team a little while back….but Im not 100%.
Gabriel Campbell is a big boy! He dwarfs DJ Ward. Standing in front of him, but still. Also, where’s Orlando? #justasking #noconspiracies
Orlandos in the back in white. Danley looks like the shortest one (in the middle)…but Que is squatting I think he’s shorter than Danley.
Oh good call. I missed him.
In the SEC, I bet kids like Daimler and Sam Grant would be quietly dismissed somehow.
Yeah unfortunately.
Jauan Williams could still visit at a later date Wednesday isn’t the deadline they can it is the first day they can sign LOI.
time to let go, man
unlikely
https://twitter.com/_TMOE55/status/692816803588771840
Have we even done an in-home with him? Seems like we backed off a bit.
I’m pretty sure there were in-home’s with him. If we backed off I “assume” it may be due to his elegibility questions. I don’t know this to be a fact either, but I have read several times this is the case. They took a chance on Que last year and it worked out. I don’t know the extent (if any) of his difficulties, but it would make sense if it were the case.
If he couldn’t qualify for lOSUr, he couldn’t qualify for 3rd grade.
Can Gundy not afford a cheeseburger?
Enjoy getting your butt kicked.
That color is just gross. Geez.. My eyes are on fire now!
*snicker*
Looks like a couple of Reese’s pieces wrappers.
Does the Department of Transportstion know Gundy and Moore have raided thier uniform closet?
We sure are turning away lots of high rated prospects
( little LR humor)
Super K makes it on ESPN, even if it is for garbage.
https://twitter.com/clicclac97/status/692848867134480385
He (SuperK) should have never put himself into this position in the first place. 😉
I agree. Now he’s going to be “the Texas guy” from here on out.
Makes you wonder.
OU site has Jordan E., Brandon, and Super K.
Texas site has Andrew King, Gabriel, and Super K.
Right now the Texas site is all roses and smiles.
To me a problem is Texas is all about Jordan Elliot and DCG their saviors at defensive tackle. Not much mention about Daniels-hmm.
Nope….
dabbing……….watching the aussie open when a highly ranked woman player from russia did this after every win………loved it when she was ousted, gee, no dabbing
Can’t watch tennis anymore. I was a big fan of nadal a few years ago but he’s nothing like he used to be.
I watch a couple of the slams each yr…..stayed up late to catch fed and joker last nite and stayed for set and a half………have never seen joker so on his game, he destroyed and embarrassed fed during that time and even the announcers were surprised though fed did manage to take it to 4 sets…….nadal is only 29 but seems past his best, fed is approaching the end at 34 and joker is probably destined to be the best ever to date and at 28 will set many records
It does look that way but I’m sure there’s a couple of guys coming up that will be great. For a long time it looked like nadal and federer were going to win every other major and then joker caught fire.
Gotta love the exposure for Super K no matter how it comes. Guy really has earned it and much much more for keeping us Sooners coming back in the good times and the not so good times!
Respect is earned not given… but if it involves Texsa it can certainly be lost!! lol
I am seeing way to much Texass crap on this site
Awesome. Was checking out USC’s commits in the right margin. I see where Matt Fink is either the #3 QB or the #3 DT, Not often you see a QB play DT as well.
DT = Dual Threat lol
Duh! Didn’t think of that! Thanx.

ya gotta click the pic
Vaguely obscene.
ya gotta click the pic
At least he didn’t have a wardrobe malfunction.
You mean dress up like Michael Jackson>?
That’s two gif tweets in one day RB…guess you aren’t so upset about them now…
those were vines and you have to click on them to animate them 😉
Haha, touche my friend.

https://twitter.com/Boomer145/status/692866774178488322
I wonder???? Do you wonder RB????
Unless he asks for a bama one you can lock it. Which I’m already calling him ou bound.
I’ve been thinking the same way all day. It’s really hard when you lose a legacy anyway.
He did ask for a bama edit though. But I think ou will close strong.
I was looking I didn’t see it. I’m not doubting you, I just didn’t see it. I would think any young recruit would have to be excited and very concerned to accept an Alabama offer. Excited is obvious, concerned is, where will I be with all these recruits. I would guess they have some players that never get a chance to be seen. They probably have players on the bench better than their starters, and won’t ever get noticed.
He replied to his OU edit one asking for a Bama edit.
https://twitter.com/MaydenII/status/692828354173468672
Somebody with mad photoshop skills should do the Alabama on withe Sugar Bowl score in the background. That would be hilarious!
Ou fan should send him a crappy bama edit lol =)
He asked for an “edit” and Boomer16 provided it- My assumption is that he wanted some OU bling on his page for whatever reason- fill in the blanks I guess.
Help. Translation
I would assume he needed an edit to post some sort of announcement on twitter.
It appears he wants some good OU decor on his twitter page.
On to OU?
Jim Harbaugh’s Recruiting Tactics: Don’t Hate The Coach, Hate The Game – Daily Cavalcade//
By Pete Fiutak
So you don’t like the way Jim Harbaugh recruits? Welcome to the real world of college football recruiting.
Follow, or just provide your love to @PeteFiutak
Sorry if this column sucks, it’s not my fault …
Jim Harbaugh took away my scholarship offer and now I might have to go play for Illinois.
”My God, this is a travesty. God, if we can’t even recruit Baloney Bard, then we can’t recruit anybody.”
Hi, American sports media, I’m Fiu. First time caller, longtime listener, and I have one quick question to you about Jim Harbaugh and the controversy over his recruiting tactics, and then I’ll hang up and listen for my answer.
What turnip truck did you fall off of on your way to learning about the world of college football recruiting?
Seriously, how do you think they made that hamburger you’re eating for lunch?
Do you not know how this process all works? Are you just now waking up to how college coaches do their jobs – as ugly as it might be at times – to put together the best teams possible?
I’m the first to rip on just how sick, twisted and perverted the entire world of recruiting is, and I’m almost never going to be on the side of the gasbag high-end college football coaches on anything, but what Harbaugh is doing right now is 1) absolutely brilliant – with the phenomenal sleepover and tree-climbing PR moves – and 2) playing ball by ditching good prospects for better ones.
And that’s all this controversy is. In the effort to give Michigan the best college football team he can field, Harbaugh is able to sign better prospects than ones who previously said they were committing, but didn’t have as much potential.
Yes, he “over-recruited” his class, which is actually the wrong term, because it’s more like overpromised scholarships, but that’s standard operating procedure in the cut-throat, big business, real world life of college football recruiting.
Let me put it this way. If you’re looking for a girlfriend and you’re allowed to choose just one on February 3rd, and Reese Witherspoon committed to you two years ago to sign on – saying it was her dream to date you once the time came – you’d be pretty fired up. But two weeks before the deadline, Alessandra Ambrosia says she wants to commit to being your girlfriend. You might not be happy about hurting Reese’s feelings, and it might be cold, but you can only have one, and you’d obviously take the better of the two.
To keep rolling with this, it’s not like Reese doesn’t have other options. You’re a big-time catch, and if she was good enough to be considered by you, she’s more than good enough for a lot of other extremely attractive suitors.
That’s essentially how this all works, and that’s why National Signing Day is a big deal.
College coaches have to try to bring in the most talented players possible. It’s not their job to find the smartest students, and it’s not their job to find young men they can mold into leaders and best.
A college football coach is supposed to win football games – period.
As Alabama proved this year, just like Ohio State showed last season, and Florida State the season before, if you have more talented players than everyone else, you’re going to win a lot of games, which is why you should be absolutely ecstatic if you’re a Michigan fan that Harbaugh rejected a few sevens when he could get a nine.
If you’re a die-hard fan of Wolverine football, would you rather have an offensive tackle who’ll go on to become one heck of a dentist, or one who might be an NFL draft pick four years from now?
At Stanford, Harbaugh was a bad guy because he bailed on an offer to Kain Colter because he was able to get Andrew Luck? If it’s an either/or situation, a coach should be fired on the spot for not doing that.
So offensive lineman Erik Swenson wasn’t considered good enough by Harbaugh to be on the team, even though he was promised a scholarship by Brady Hoke and the previous coaching staff. That sucks for Swenson, but that doesn’t mean he can’t go to Michigan. That doesn’t mean he can’t go try to walk on to the team if he thinks he’s good enough. If he really wants to go to school there, then he can try to get accepted. Otherwise, he can go play for a number of other schools more than happy to give him a scholarship for his football talents.
Is it low rent that Harbaugh didn’t call Swenson and say he was pulling the offer? Yeah, but the message was the same no matter if it was Harbaugh making the call or the offensive line coach.
Welcome to Dumpsville. Population: You.
And it works the other way, too.
Until a recruit actually faxes in that signed letter of intent, he’s free game.
That means that if some other coach wants to deliver a better tractor to Ricky Roe at the 11th hour to get him to flip his commitment, guess who’s getting that signature?
It happens all the time, and it’s also part of the deal. A coach thinks he has a certain position all set by getting a superstar recruit to verbally commit, other top prospects choose other schools because of that commitment, the coach stops recruiting the position because he thinks he has it set, and then … wham. The prospect chooses another school and screws everything up.
In the case of Harbaugh and Michigan, top-level recruits are now looking to go to Ann Arbor more than they did in recent years, and now there are more options to choose from. Now Michigan is able to battle with the Ohio States, Alabamas, and others for talent because it has a head coach good enough to be in the running for those players.
If Michigan wins the Big Ten title and/or the national championship in the near future because of this recruiting class, no one will care a lick about what it took to get the program back among the elite of the elite.
To paraphrase the well-worn cliché, don’t hate the coach, hate the game.
Sounds like Harbaugh is playing the same game the recruits are. That’s one way to get the best kids to commit early. Must be something they learn in the NFL because Saban does the same thing.
Normally don’t read lengthy posts but you held my interest, congrats. 🙂

Drove by the stadium last night. Its hard to appreciate from the pictures how much bigger it looks already. The outer edge of the SE corner is about as close to Jenkins as the East side already was.
Pretty impressive. Where will they practice now though?
That’s exciting, Maverick. Cannot wait to see the finished product. I really wish they would replace the tiny/outdated screen on the north end-zone to match the monster they are putting up on the new south end-zone.
Oh I’m sure they eventually will. The folks that are spending a new premium in that end zone will want it. Maybe as part of the press box phase?
Yeah, I’ve seen in the expansion plans that this is the case. I just wish they’d do it at the same time, rather than implementing that later.
The board was removed from the plan because President Boren felt it detracted from the view of the campus (from the stadium).
I am moving to a box in the SW corner, in hopes of later moving into a box on the West (when it is built) and have expressed my great disappointment that the North big screen has been removed from the plan.
I don’t have any power, but think there will be plenty of people paying for end zone seats that don’t like the small screen. Hopefully, with a common voice, we can change the President’s mind.
This is the original plan, which included the big screen in the North and also enclosing the walkway between the current fence and stadium.

What’s this about Youngquist and not being able to play? I’m very confused?
Personal . ..all I know any thing from health to death in the family.
sucks one week before but pray all is well for him a d family
Not much info, just, he can’t sign. He’s not decommitting, he’s just not signing, with anyone. No details, lots of guessing. Grades, medical, who knows? It was just supposed to be something personal.
Post this on Kelly’s page:
https://twitter.com/DemetricDWarren/status/692847251828244482
This is my understanding of why he is intrigued by them cause of Davis!
ND LB’s Coach Mike Elston tweeting Kelly just prior to OU’s in-home, kind of unprofessional if you ask me.
Someone ought to post OU’s “Play Like a Champion Today” sign on his page.
https://twitter.com/CoachMikeElston/status/692879641774682115
Not surprising but whatever!
The Irish champions? Of what? Hell, they even stole our sign.
I was about to say the same thing. It’s best we leave the recruiting up to the coaches. If I thought I was the best there was I’d want to play with another 5* LB next to me and have a dominating D.
The only way you make these kids regret for not coming to OU is by winning a conference and National championship. I think we will be good next year and if we can do what we did this past year then we will just fine. I wish these kids the best of luck unless they play OU then I hope they have a terrible game.

C Kelly – you look much better in Crimson & Cream than in that green stuff in Indiana.
Boomer to you Mr. Kelly! Say Sooner back on Wednesday.
