Open Post | Monday, Jan. 11th (UPDATE 4:04 pm)

Quartney Davis & Wide Receiver Recruiting: Last night the Sooners officially offered 2016 WR and former TAMU commit, Quartney Davis (Houston, TX). Davis set up an official visit to OU for the weekend of January 22nd-24th, and we are told he is one of three primary WR targets remaining for OU which include Davis, Velus Jones and UGA JUCO WR commit Javon Wims.

I spoke with someone familiar with Davis’ recruiting and it comes as no surprise that the Sooners have a “real chance” with Davis. The other schools Davis is considering are Oklahoma State, Ole Miss and UCLA. – (Super K)

EJ Price: ESPN recently reported that 2016 OT EJ Price (Lawrenceville, GA) had narrowed his list to a Top 3 that included Oklahoma, Georgia & USC. Price,as you may recall, was scheduled to visit Norman this past season but the trip fell through.

We were initially told that visit would be rescheduled for this coming weekend (Jan. 15th). However, in talking to a source it sounds like that has yet to be finalized at this point. Although we are hoping to know more on that later this week.

In talking with some folks out in SEC territory, it certainly sounds like UGA is still the favorite to land Price. But I spoke to someone yesterday who knows Price yesterday, and this person said, “EJ is a good guy…but he’s a different type of guy…I would bet on UGA, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he surprised everyone and ended up at an Oklahoma or USC.” – (Super K)

– UPDATE (3:38 pm): Evidently Price has now finalized that Norman trip referenced above.
