Pernell Jefferson: As many of you may have noted, James Hale of 247sports reported, regarding Oklahoma LB commit, Pernell Jefferson (New Orleans, LA) that, “Oklahoma can no longer offer him a scholarship after he violated team rules at his school.”

We have not yet been able to verify the report.

Last night we spoke to the defensive coordinator at Jefferson’s high school in New Orleans, coach Jerry Phillips, and asked him about the report. He told us, “I have no idea where that came from. As far as I know he’s still committed to OU.” In reference the report, Phillips continued by saying, “There is no truth to that report.”

It is, of course, possible that the information in the report is coming from the Oklahoma side of things, and Jefferson and/or his coaches have simply not been made aware as of yet. We did check with a source on the Oklahoma side who said Jefferson is “still a take.”

Jefferson’s DC did say that Pernell is “planning on taking some other visits…just to make sure OU is the right place for him.” Nebraska and TCU are the two schools likely to get visits.

We will continue to dig regarding this matter as the 247 Sports report could very well be accurate. Again, it is certainly possible that the coaching staff at Jefferson’s school hasn’t been made aware of things. But this is what we have to go on for now. – (Super K & Brandon)

Jeffrey Okudah: Top 2017 safety in the country, Jeffrey Okudah (Grand Prairie, TX) released his Top 10 over the weekend.

https://twitter.com/TheJeffOkudah/status/683454078949699584

As you will note, Oklahoma made the cut. This may seem like a bit of ho-hum news, but I can assure you it’s significant. For a while Oklahoma really was not a school Okudah was seriously considering. I spoke with Okudah this weekend to see what had changed to which he said, “I didn’t realize what Oklahoma’s defense would be like under coach Stoops and coach Cooks…I like the way they’re playing defense now…I like the way their secondary is developing and playing.”

Okudah has visited Oklahoma and he said he would definitely like to make a return trip for the OU vs. Ohio State game next fall. He is also planning to enroll early, so he would be available for 2017 spring practices. – (Super K)

UPDATE (1:45 pm): I spoke with a family member of Charles Walker regarding whether he would return to Oklahoma next season or enter the draft. I took it for granted that Walker would return however the early departure of Dom Alexander made me rethink who else might consider leaving. The family member told me that he plans to “be back next season.” The family member also added, “right now all he’s focused on is getting OU that national championship.”

Walker will have till January 18th to declare so obviously things could change but this is where things stand of right now.

– UPDATE (4:56 pm): Recent Arizona LB decommit.

    Parnell stuff is strange.

    • Zack says:

I think hale’s report is accurate just that he probably needed to wait a little bit longer to release the story.

      • Rick says:

You are probably right Zack, I have become so cynical about the media, I am always looking for them to screw things up based on their bias.

        • Zack says:

Just trying to read between the lines but I think ou coaches wanted pernell to look around. The rumor has been out there so long and I think they took his commitment before they knew who all would be interested.

          • Lincoln Hawk says:

            Shouldn’t have offered him then.

          • Zack says:

This is true but it happens all the time and last year we lucked out of an ugly situation with Jacobs.

          • Lincoln Hawk says:

Guess we didn’t learn anything….bet this doesn’t sit well with our newly gained recruiting circles in Louisiana.

          • Zack says:

That’s kind of what I said yesterday because there was mention this weekend that we haven’t offered the #1 linebacker in the country for 2017 and he’s from Baton Rouge and is not considering lsu…

          • Rick says:

That makes sense. If true, they must have a pretty good idea of exactly how many they have and how many are planning on committing if a spot were available.

          • Zack says:

Well I know Kelly is considered a lock. But then I think they will try to go all in on Juarez when the dead period is over. And mark Jackson all of a sudden has ou as his leader from what he’s telling people. Which is kind of funny, not sure if you watched the 2014 5A playoffs between cibola? and Katy but the announcers mistakenly said Jackson was committed to ou.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I’ll take Kelly, Juarez, Little and Jackson and call it a day.

          • JD says:

Pretty sure they can contact over the phone and via social media during the current dead period and no in person visits are allowed

          • Mr. Jones says:

He’s telling people OU is his leader? That’s good to hear! Maybe he’ll make the flip at the AA game this weekend.

          • Zack says:

If he’s not flat out telling people that, then he’s giving them reason to believe he will flip. I thought I saw that 3 people recently crystal balled him to ou.

          • Zack says:

And they were a&m and shorthorns writers.

  • Rick says:

It’s funny how stories get twisted either intentionally or not, to completely change the effect of the story. It’s like that old party game I played as a kid, where the 1st person in line whispers something to the next in line, so on and so forth, until the end where the last person says something not at all like what the 1st person stated.

    • Dick Bump says:

On the Internet, the first guy speculates and by the time it makes the rounds it’s not only totally different but it’s now a known fact.

  • Stephen says:

How is Hale way ahead of anyone, including Pernell’s high school coaches about what seem like significant accusations?

Edit: rumors from original post said Jefferson had violated team rules, thus Oklahoma revoked the offer.

    • Super K says:

Only thing I can think of is he may have received a tip from someone on the OU side. Our source on the OU side couldn’t corroborate his report though.

      • SamSooner says:

Super K, before the Baylor game, you said that OU needed to win that game. You said that a Baylor win will give them a big boost in recruiting, adding to their 2016 and 2017 momentum.

Do you plan to write an article to follow up how OU’s win has somewhat slowed down Baylor momentum. Are there any recruits you could point to?

      • Stephen says:

Maybe you can clear this up, but on Twitter there was talk that he violated team rules. I didn’t think a recruit that hadn’t signed an LOI could be held to those rules yet.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I called Hale on his program. He wouldn’t commit to his story. But he clearly stated that Jefferson will not be choosing OU. I asked him if it was solely Jefferson’s call? He simply stated that Jefferson will be going to another school to play.

  • Kelly Gurbcock says:

What the heck did Jefferson do wrong? Sorry, I’m in the dark on this.

  • Scott says:

Time to get Mique Juarez , Mark Jackson , Erik Fowler , and Greg Little. If you want playing time come to OU.

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

US ARMY ALL-American game Saturday: West team has Juarez and C Kelly rooming together, Chanse, and also Moore. Others Jack Jones, Oliver,

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Rivals has us at 33rd place. But on average star we are at 16th tied with Baylor for now. Interesting that Georgia has the highest per star rating thus far, 3.86. They really aren’t significant in the SEC and fired the coach.

  • Furr-Sure says:

Really hope OU sends the big guns (Cale and Cooks) to recruit Okudah. Would be great if he visited the Ohio State weekend (since he’s reportedly high on them).

His potential is limitless, IMO. His technique, instincts, and ball skills are incredible.

  • hOUligan says:

When scratching your head and wondering ‘why’ … let me throw a few names out … Ellen Diesch, Parker Boudreaux, JP Urquidez, Jean DeLance, Willie Allen, EJ Price and Greg Little. These are some of the top OU online recruits that aren’t coming. Last year OU whiffs on Wariboko, Barnett in state and Conner Williams among others. While OU has won a few battles, Samia, Frison , Ford, they have got to win more of these battles before they can dominate on the field.

    • Furr-Sure says:

I’m still holding out hope Price takes an OV

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Can’t get everybody! We didn’t win the Natty, but they dominated on the field excluding Clemson. (Texas was one of those things). Bama lost as well.

      • hOUligan says:

No one, esp me, is saying anything negative about OU. The team did much better than most, including myself, saw coming. K nailed it in his article after the Clemson game. If we want to talk about taking that next step…they have to get more of these kids that are at the top of their board.

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Fair enough. But last year a lot of posters argued that the problem was coaching, now it’s talent? Perhaps as coach said it was execution?

          • Kelly Gurbcock says:

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen OU get out athleted like they did in the Orange Bowl. That was the most disheartening thing about that loss. I hope these young guys have something because they are going to need it.

    • rphokc says:

wariboko, barnett had every opportunity to sign …….w came with strings and b played games

    • Zack says:

I wouldn’t say we whiffed on Barnett. His time ran out on his offer and his poor play as a senior made many back off. He’s fortunate to have landed at a good program.

      • hOUligan says:

If kids choose not to come…not much you can do. >Insert dead horse gift here< If Barnett jumped onboard early, he would have been a take. Wariboko played us to the end. Whatever motivates kids to go to one school over another, whether beaches, bitches or $$$… Just saying'… whether you're talking o-linemen or LBs, to be at the top, you have to get your top recruit 'wants'. You cannot be at the top if you're not getting the kids at the top of your own board.

        • rphokc says:

that’s the mystery for several yrs now……..they do get visits and good feedback from many of their top targets, but they don’t sign

        • rphokc says:

that’s the mystery for several yrs now……..they do get visits and good feedback from many of their top targets, but they don’t sign

    • KJ1123 says:

I hear what you’re saying. I always lean toward star power than diamonds in the rough. I think our record and our run this year will help. Staying in the hunt will help even more. And moving guys along to the NFL will as well. We can only ride AD’s and Demarco and Trents success for so long, we need to continually send guys to the NFL and contend each year. AND, not lose to stupid Texsa.

      • hOUligan says:

I’m not a big ‘star-gazer’. You don’t have to get the ‘Greg Little(s)’ at every position. But it sure appears the teams that bring in a few of these are at the top. I keep waiting for that influx. You see the kids OU/Bedenbaugh has playing on o-line in the nfl and scratch your head why more kids aren’t beating down the door to play for him at OU.

        • Wilson says:

Style of play can be an issue as well…well at least the perception of a style of play… Other schools…’they don’t play Pro style NFL type offense sooo…. ‘ Yeah if you know anything about football..you know with further examination its just propaganda…but…it is what it is..

        • KJ1123 says:

I think getting 2 or 3 legit 5’s would be a HUGE win any year. I can’t speak for all the players. But Norman is a tough place to be at during the off-season imo. I really think that has alot to do with these kids deciding not to come. Unless you have roots there of course.

    • Scott says:

We got Kyler Murray so Greg Little will take a visit to OU now.

      • Kelly Gurbcock says:

I heard Little was recruiting kids at the UA game to go to Ole Miss over the weekend.

        • Scott says:

Kyler Murray can get him to come to OU. The only problem we will have is him starting from day 1 , if he goes to Ole Miss he will start from day 1 , but if he chooses OU its a different story. If we can sell him by guaranteeing him that he will start at RT next year then OU will have his chance to get him.

          • Wilson says:

I would never guarantee a kid a starting spot..no matter what. Too many variables. I would say if you come in and work hard and earn it..we will give you every opportunity to start. If they want to hear more than that…they can go play else where, reeks of entitlement…would have nothing to do with it. If its confidence..then the first statement won’t be an issue. Coached for a bit. Nothing worse than an entitled kid..except for a very talented entitled kid…lol

          • Scott says:

Haha very true. IMO I believe Ole Miss is Guaranteeing the LT spot for him , so it could be hard swaying him away fro Ole Miss.

          • Finney56 says:

            yes… Ole Mi$$ is guaranteeing him a $pot

          • soonerborn says:

I’ve heard that Little’s uncle is getting paid lots of money for his services.

          • Finney56 says:

            yes… Ole Mi$$ is guaranteeing him a $pot

          • JD says:

He won’t get a guarantee from Stoops

          • Bill Holder says:

Can start for sec school on day 1, but not for OU. Interesting

          • Wilson says:

Regardless of the conference. Saying a kid can start and them actually being able to is totally different. There are just way too many variables that don’t include talent. Example: Intelligence, desire, coach-ability (don’t think that is a real word), team chemistry, injury, adaptation to college life, maturity, etc. Things that a coach can’t possibly predict for a kid just out of high school. Which is why there are so many that red shirt or washout or “don’t live up to their potential” (considering their potential is a fictitious desire placed on them by professionals, fans or otherwise who are basing it on measurables and historical performances with different variables for a future outcome).

          • j l says:

SEC schools will make whatever promises they can to land a kid. We wont. Simple as that.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

We have better offensive personnel. We score.

      • KJ1123 says:

Stealing Little would be HUGE…albeit difficult….the Evans bros, Murray, Little….it’ll be like a HS reunion.

  • Mizuno44 says:

We have the toughest non conference schedule in the country next season, so the narrative for our remaining recruiting days in this cycle should hammer away at our desire for excellence (championships), proof of that, look at our non conference scheduling. Who else in the country will be playing two top ten schools (most likely)? I would think Norman would be a nice destination for highly touted, college ready, impact freshman.

    • Kelly Gurbcock says:

Every SEC game will be a top ten match up. don’t you know?

      • Mizuno44 says:

        But of course

      • SoonerGoneEast says:

All 14 teams should be in the top 10, because Alabama is really good.

      • soonerthunder says:

Got that right. I remember so many times the season starts with SEC filling all top 10 spots early in the season, and then get beat at home by mid-level teams. I remember ULM beating #7 or so Ark, tying Auburn @ Auburn. This year just look at all the undeserving sec teams that began in the top 10. Remember LsU? the “best team” in the country.

    • rphokc says:

is it fact we have the toughest ooc

      • Mizuno44 says:

Fact may be a strong word, but an educated guess assuming Houston and Ohio State are ranked in the top ten to start the season. If so, unlikely any other team will have two top ten teams in their non conference lineup, let alone two top twenty teams.

  • Mizuno44 says:

    update added

    • Mizuno44 says:

Hey Jordan Esco, did you see this request I posted earlier??

Happy New Year everyone. What a turnaround from last year. As
disappointing as the loss to Clemson was, I’m so thankful we made the
playoff. Reflecting on our two losses, our inability to defend the
mobile QB’s was obviously problematic. So, I’d like to make a request
to Esco, Super K, JY, and whoever else can make this happen. Can you
guys put together an analysis geared towards identifying our breakdowns
against mobile QB’s in the past, and also showcase areas for improvement
going forward? It seems we rely to heavily on individuals making plays
rather than having an overall defensive scheme. Other teams seem to
have the ability to stop offenses with mobile QB’s, and we’ve
      historically had issues.

      • Scott says:

        Everyone UPVOTE this.

The huge plus is that OU’s biggest obstacles this year to a national title will be strengths next season: OL & DL.

The offensive line looks like it could be better, overall, than this year. The three young guns will have another year under their belt, plus Bedenbaugh has recruited some maulers for the interior line that are coming off redshirt.

On the defensive side, we have several talented DL that are also coming off redshirt. There are a number of big time talents that are waiting for their opportunity next year.

Good news and relief to know Walker likely will be with us next year. Hope Evans stays, too.

  • Brien Brown says:

WalterFootball.com has Zack Sanchez going to the Raiders 78th overall. Tapper to the Bills with the 81st pick overall. Shepard to the Texans with 85th pick overall. This is a wayyyyy to early projection but they are usually pretty good and they only go through the 4th round with their picks. I seen a site that had Dom going 48th overall to Indy, Shep 51st to the Jets, Xak to the Bucs with 74th pick, Tapper 89th to KC, Striker 130th to SF. Not sure that Dom gets selected that high Shep could be anywhere from a 1st to 3rd round kid though no lower I think, depending on the combine!

      • DCinAZ says:

Paying players a cool grand for each “visit” they take.

        • BoomerDave says:

This talk of paying players is silly. SEC schools love getting each other in trouble. If there was anything like this going on at Ole Miss, they would already have been busted for it by now.

Happens all the time. I suppose Herman is playing players at Houston too, huh? Freeze is a players coach and a great recruiter. New coaches change recruiting at schools all the time.

          • DCinAZ says:

Ole Miss has been hammered by the NCAA multiple times. Most recently in 1994 when they were banned from television for a year, banned from the post-season for two years, and put on four year probation.

Remember when LaQuan Treadwell tweeted this back in 2013 and immediately took the tweet down?

          • blaster1371 says:

Kinda like OU after Switzer was gone?

          • DCinAZ says:

What’s that got to do with Ole Miss in 2016? Ole Miss has never been OU and never will be.

          • blaster1371 says:

You were going back to 1994 implying program history impacts present day.

          • DCinAZ says:

Fair enough. We DID have some issues. Bomar for example.

          • j l says:

Houston had immediate success this year, and sits in one of the hotbeds of recruiting in all of the US. All their big commitments were from the local area.

Ole miss does not reside in fertile recruiting ground, and immediately started landing kids outside of their success level.

            Apples and oranges.

          • j l says:

Guess you missed the part where tunsil’s step dad flat out said laremy got paid to go to ole miss.

Until it’s proven, I don’t believe it’s going on anymore there than at OU. I guess we will just wait and see.

          • j l says:

it’ll never be “proven”, unless someone was stupid enough to keep records, which is kinda the whole point of using bagmen. Nothing tying the school to the kid.

The step dad got kicked out of the house, and he blew up tunsil’s spot. He was getting paid by agents more than a year ago(not the fault of ole miss), hence why he didnt play this year.

Step dad said he got gifts by ole miss during recruitment, and that they had to alter his academic records to even get him enrolled.

Pretty obvious OU isnt doing anything similar, all you have to do is compare our recruiting rank with theirs.

7-5 teams dont grab 3 legit 5 stars out of nowhere.

          • blaster1371 says:

Boosters tend to be the source of the problems. I think Stoops spends as much time keeping the, away than he does having to keep his staff NCAA complient.

          • blaster1371 says:

But that’s boosters not the head coach.

          • j l says:

In this day and age, coaches know whats going on in their programs.

Its a kill or be killed environment, theres plenty of coaches who probably dont care how they land kids, only that they get them.

Even in the off chance they dont know, its still a violation, and will get you hit with a lack of institutional control penalty.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

Wasn’t there an internet pic of three Bama recruits flashing their wads of $100 bills with the caption of “Payday!” on it just a couple of years ago? I saw it with my own eyes.

          • Rick says:

And 1 in front of a new car, as I remember.

          • DCinAZ says:

Henry tweeted a picture of himself with a brand new sports car. Dee liner (Alabama) posted a pic of himself and his friends holding stacks of cash. DJ Fluker tweeted out that he took money while at Alabama and dared everybody to “cast the first stone”. His agent claims his twitter account was hacked.

          • Rick says:

Some of that was explained away as they take their student loans, as if they are paying for their education and using the cash. Where there’s smoke….

          • Maverick says:

Not true at all. They are being investigated and the SEC doesn’t tell on each other or they’d all be in trouble. Cam Newton was actively looking for a payment to his “church”.

          • blaster1371 says:

Agreed this “bag man” theory is stale. Besides, it sounds downright hypocritical. Back In Switzer’s day and before OU was a cash cow for its players.

          • j l says:

lol, guess you didnt read this article then. The info came from an SEC bagman.

Its nowhere near “stale”, its currently happening right now

Coeds? Campus? Other than that…I gots nuthin…lol

      • Maverick says:

Momentum, SEC, Cash, and it seems to be the “cool” place to be.

      • kt-raida says:

something is definitely going on there, and winning isn’t one of them.

        • SamSooner says:

This was out of the blue. I didn’t know he was taking a visit. Ole Miss has somehow manage to make his final list and they really haven’t been involved. That smells.

          • kt-raida says:

Sooners recruiting goes down after some mediocre to great years. Ole miss has never been relevant but has pulled in top 5 recruiting classes the last 4 years?

      • Jordan Esco says:

        $$$

      • Finney56 says:

        Ole Mi$$ *

      • blaster1371 says:

Everything I have read about their head coach is he is one classy guy. He Calls recruits after national signing day who have committed elsewhere to wish them luck. In his interviews he comes across as a genuinely nice guy. Now the Mississippe Stare coach comes off as a used car salesman. They have garnered a rather impressive collection of athletes just can’t seem to get all the parts going at the same time.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

      Ole Miss? damn it.

  • Mizuno44 says:

Why not snag two independent schools to shore up the Big XII, Notre Dame and BYU, thoughts?

    • Rick says:

If this was to happen we would definately have the diversity thing covered with the Churches, Baptist, Catholic, Christian and Mormon (Alphabetical order, 2015 was the year of the offended._

    • Rick says:

If this was to happen we would definately have the diversity thing covered with the Churches, Baptist, Catholic, Christian and Mormon (Alphabetical order, 2015 was the year of the offended._

    • DCinAZ says:

Notre Dame wouldn’t join the BIG XII under any circumstance.

    • Rick says:

Seriously, I don’t think ND would ever consider any conference with their TV schedule, I would think BYU would have a pretty large TV audience, UU and USU are both smaller schools. Maybe another eastern or south eastern school would be attractive.

      • Mizuno44 says:

It’s a double standard, we get grief for not having twelve teams and a conference championship game. The playoff system should deem any independent team ineligible for NC consideration. Unfair independent schools can cherry pick their entire schedule from year to year, where other schools have limited non-conference availability.

        • Rick says:

That’s exactly what happens too. ND’s schedule is always rated high enought to consider it “playoff worthy” if they go throught the season undeated/1 loss.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

They do play people like USC and Stanford every year as well as OU/Clemson. But they lose two or more.

        • Jpsooner23 says:

The playoff system does make it more difficult for them to make it in not being a conf champ. They must be”unequivocally” better than a top 4 conf champ to knock them out.

    • SamSooner says:

I would like to see OU bolt for another conference.

      • Rick says:

It would cost OU too much to leave, but if the Big 12 were to fold….

        • SamSooner says:

As defunct as the Big XII can be, it’d be hard to hold OU to an agreement, I think. I mean, there’s a lot going on that isn’t in the best interest of OU, financially.

          • BoomerDave says:

Actually, we have a very profitable TV deal. I can’t imagine how we could get out of the deal. I’ve heard several people say that it is iron clad. If we leave today, we forfeit about $250M.

          • SamSooner says:

Is that OU’s real market value, full earning potential?

          • BoomerDave says:

From what I hear, yes. The Big XII deal is one of the best when considering only 10 to divide it between.

          • SamSooner says:

            Thanks!

          • Rick says:

I hope this is the information you are asking for, OU’s Rev from athletics is $135,660,070, OU’s exp from athletics is $124,732,244, OU’s cost per athlete is $170,866d. Is that what you are asking?

          • Rick says:

If I’m reading it correctly it’s roughly $26M/year thru 2025, so you are right.

    • Maverick says:

Let’s just go independent then and play schedules like they do. Maybe we get an independent TV deal to equal or come close to ND.

    • Stephen says:

Because the teams that were viable options for expansion have been taken. Notre Dame has a contract that basically forces them to go ACC should they ever affiliate with a conference.

      • Mizuno44 says:

Doubtful that would hold up if they wanted out

        • Stephen says:

Notre Dame is ACC in every sport except football. There’s no way they’ll be able to join a second conference just for football.

          • Mizuno44 says:

I never really meant for my comment to be taken this seriously, merely a thought. Since you’ve mentioned it, the ACC agreement doesn’t seem to be very strong if ND opted out their football program and remained independent, and appears to be an indication they can do whatever they want. I’m also sure all other sports would follow the football program if they ever decided to join a conference.

    • Indy_sooner says:

I also heard UConn is in the running. How did we ever let Colorado, Nebraska,MO and TAMU go?? We should shutter this lame conference down…. or revolt if they add Houston to the league.

  • soonerthunder says:

The biggest recruit for ’16 is Charles Walker!

  • Mr. Jones says:

I’m sure I’m late to the party but great news on Walker!

  • Hooknladder says:

Pretty sure Charles Walker is a Sophomore, so he’ll be back at least one more year. Hopefully more.

  • KJ1123 says:

Just looked through the CBS Draft Player rankings as of today. Here’s what I saw:

    -Shep 2nd round rank 8
    -D. Alexander 3rd round rank 4
    -Sanchez 3rd round rank 11
    -Strike 3-4 round rank 12
    -Tapp 3-4 round rank 12
-Nila 7 or FA rank 19

Everyone else is projected FA if they pursue the NFL.

tk to tam……..hope he does well, doesn’t get embarrassed at some point

  • KJ1123 says:

I mentioned yesterday we need LBs that can run sideline to sideline with their hair on fire……Doucet would fit the bill. That kid can RUN.

    • hOUligan says:

2014 kid who came out of VA listed 6’2 185 4.5 according to rivals. Kid can scoot and wraps up when he hits.

  • KJ1123 says:

Im ready for the ol Sooner push to close out recruiting already! We still have about 10 spots.

    • EasTex says:

When does the dead period end?

      • KJ1123 says:

I think it opens up next week until the end of the month.

        • Hotrod33 says:

          KJ,
What is your take on who we get in this last month or recruiting? Also, have you heard of anybody else that is transferring?

          • KJ1123 says:

I haven’t heard of any more transfers. I think we are close to Bledsoe out of Kansas and we seem to be in good standing with Tramandous. I hope we add guys in the trenches in the last month. We need em.

          • Hotrod33 says:

I think with the guys we have now and redshirting it looks like a good bunch. They look the part but can they play the part? Time will tell. Thanks for the info. I hope we get both those guys. Impressive on film.

          • RBear says:

agreed, that’s where we lose when we lose

      • hOUligan says:

        End Jan 13th.

    • Scott says:

OU needs to go back to recruiting D.Jackson. We need a true ILB.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

BS always flips someone…we need to remember that we have a 5 star qb transfer coming in…I always include those situations when evaulating a given class.

  • Jackson1006 says:

Didn’t Walker have concussion issues in high school? Can anyone verify this? Little worried about his long term health in this regard.

  • j l says:

Does the need to add a juco LB come from any sort of worry about kelly? Lord i hope not.

  • Money Mayfield says:

OU didn’t make Mique Juarez’s final 2. I really though they had a chance with him

    • Scott says:

Me too but we got a lot of other LB recruits to focus on now.

    • Clint Lenard says:

I figured we’d be in his top 3 or something, to be honest. The Ole Mi$$ thing is just crazy…

      • D Hunter Sanchez says:

He’ll stay home is my guess living out here. I sure would like to know what he said to Caleb in their room about OU. It’s frustrating not being able to get a kid’s perception.

  • Daryl says:

Brainiacs any thoughts why we are offering a late JUCO LB. it seems like we have a lot of guys at the position even with Dom leaving.

  • Stephen Dale says:

How could Jefferson violate team rules without his coach knowing it ??

  • JD says:

For those that didn’t watch Doucets hudl, he is listed as a OLBSS 233. He is very likely an offer to shore up the ILB numbers

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Clearly, we recruit Lbs to defend against the air raid. Hence, the 225 lb guys. The last ILB that could move a pile back was really Lofton. Could have used him against Percy Harvin and Tebow. Reynolds and the late A Box were also tough against the run. Think of the size of the Lbs through the Stoop years. Where are the Torrance Marshall’s’ or Lofton’s?

  • rphokc says:

good for ksu……..they open with stanford in ’16

    • lefty67 says:

KSU’s been playing solid OOC’s for a while now (this past season being an anomaly), as has everybody in the conference, with one green & gold exception. Hopefully they grow a pair & start stepping their slates up, although I’m not holding my breath waiting on it.
