– Weekend Visitors: This weekend Oklahoma will host a few official visitors. We have been told that the Sooners are expecting three official visitors, but that number could eventually be as high as five. So far we’ve been able to confirm three visitors:
Derrick Willies: OU recently offered JUCO 2016 WR and Texas Tech commit, Derrick Willies (Trinity Valley C.C.). And TFB has been able to confirm that Willies is planning to be in Norman this weekend (first reported by 247 Sports). – (Brandon)
Clifford Chattman: We noted in yesterday’s OP that 2016 safety and LSU commit Clifford Chattman is expected to visit OU this weekend after having cancelled a previous trip. – (Brandon)
Big 10 Commit: Have to play a little coy here as we have confirmed the Sooners are also expected to play host to a 2016 running back committed to a Big 10 school, but have been given the impression that player would likely prefer to keep the visit on the low. If the name winds up getting out there we may chose to confirm it at that time, but for now we’re going to withhold it. Hopefully you all understand the decision to do so. – (Brandon & TFB)
– Also Visiting: A couple other high profile, but local visitors are expected to be in Norman this weekend as well. 2016 OT Tramonda Moore and JUCO LB Chris Baccus both tweeted out last night they are planning to be in town this weekend. Baccus has not yet received an offer from the Sooners, but Oklahoma has been recruiting him for quite some time now. – (TFB)
– Levi Onwuzurike: As you’re likely aware, Oklahoma is still looking for their first defensive lineman commitment in this 2016 class. Earlier this season Oklahoma offered 2016 DE Levi Onwuzurike (Allen, TX) and when the offered first happened, Onwuzurike mentioned that he would likely visit Oklahoma. I caught up with him yesterday and while he said that the Sooners are recruiting him very hard, at this time it’s unlikely that OU visit will take place.
Onwuzurike said he has sort of crossed the Sooners off his list because they were one of his later offers, and he is currently focused on schools that offered him earlier. It remains to be seen whether Oklahoma can reassert themselves into his recruitment. – (Super K)
– Adrian Hardy: We’ve been asked about rumors of OU commit Adrian Hardy possibly looking around, so we have tried to reach Hardy but have been unsuccessful in doing so thus far. However, I spoke to a source who did say Hardy is “looking at TAMU a little right now.” We’ll keep an eye on it. – (Super K)
– UPDATE (1:57 pm): TFB got word from a source just a short time ago the RB committed elsewhere referenced above is now planning to reschedule their visit and will no longer be in Norman this weekend. – (Brandon)

I believe all the same names are listed above, but for those asking for an actual visitor list: https://thefootballbrainiacs.com/ou-oklahoma-sooners-football-recruiting-iowa-state-visitor-list

How many of you are scrolling through Big Ten RB commits trying to figure out who it is?
Me
Pretty sure it’s Abdul Adams. Only guy they’re recruiting it seems.
Who is he committed to?
Sparty
Thanks
A high profile Ohio St rb decommitted
Well the guy visiting is committed so, probably not him.
Was once committed to East Carolina. Only a 3*, but has offers from Bama, ND, Miami, Georgia, Florida, etc.
Wonder if he has a relationship with Riley then
I’d love for this to be the case. I loved his highlight film, even more than Whaley’s tbh. Would take him in a heartbeat.
Not me.
Im lazy. Im letting you guys do that for me.
Derrick Willies film looks great. I would really like to get him and keep him from TT.
Kareem Walker just decommitted from Ohio State. Any chance it’s him?
No chance
The fact OU is offering a lot of WRs already makes me think Hardy told the coaches to start finding a replacement.
Yep i agree Dave
Also a strong possibility that a WR or 2 transfer. I would also be willing to bet a couple DBs transfer as well.
How much do you guys think Montgomery leaving has to do with no D linemen in the 2016 class? I think Reynolds is doing an excellent job coaching the group this year, but it’s tough as a recruit when you’ve heard about a coach and/or had contact with him and he leaves (no hard feelings for Montgomery, just to clarify). Any thoughts?
I had concerns about Reynold’s recruiting ability coming in and it seems warranted thus far.
We are slow playing d line we are deeeeeeeeppppppppp
That’s true as well.
We only need to 1 or 2 Dlinemen this year
When you return all starters + : Wade, Romar, Dimon, Walker and have guys like Orso, Overton, Gallimore, Lampkin and Garnett waiting their turn, not a position of ‘need’. Take ‘the best one’ and move on.
Didn’t you have concerns with Kish too? You don’t walk in and sign every top kid in less than 12 months. Takes time.
I was never one of the big anti-Kish guys if that’s what you’re asking, no. Did I view him as a great recruiter? Honestly, no. Still don’t, yet.
I don’t think it’s really had any effect on D line recruits considering OU doesn’t use a position coach only recruit their position recruiting strategy, more by territory.
To add onto your point Josh, we have a lot of young talented depth. Also, HS kids want to come in and play right away. Only person we are losing is Tapper so I see OU being very selective. The top kids most likely will commit late or during their all star games.
The dline is playing at a high level. Think it was pretty clear that Reynolds has been called/is a ‘technician’. Maybe not as strong a personality as Monty and the guy before him, but if he gets the kids playing well and they are getting recognition and a few make ‘the league’, hs school recruits will notice. They will start coming to OU.
Completely agree well put
I think him leaving is directly correlated with OU having zero DL recruits right now. There were multiple high level recruits who’ve said OU was their team to beat before Monty left.
I do however, think Reynolds is doing a good job coaching and will land a solid recruit or two this cycle.
I think losing Monty was HUGE recruiting wise not only for DLinemen but other positions too.
My hope is that Reynolds can offset that some by his coaching/ teaching ability. So far he seems to be doing a great job in that area but no I doubt he’ll ever be close to the recruiter that Monty was for us.
Give him some time Fear
Fire reynolds/ s
Personally I dont see his personality as being charismatic as Monty’s was however as has been mentioned, the results he gets might eventually become a big draw to recruits. I havent given up on him at all.
Recruits love his personality , they said he’s laid back and very similar to Monty
I have no doubt that hes got a very nice personality that the kids like but do you really believe that hes half the recruiter that Monty is? This isnt a knock on coach Reynolds at all. Monty was just exceptional in that regard.
Diron does not have much experience recruiting. I have no problem giving him some time, as I see the results on the field are paying off.
Me either
Have to agree Fear, Monty was a fantastic recruiter. Got out of position a time or two even
Seems like we’ve offered quite a few JUCO WR’s recently, does that mean we’re not too confident about Cleveland, Duverynay etc.
I don’t think the coaches are confident about Cleveland or Duvernay
I think it indicates the coaches are not as confident in anyone past Westbrook next year. The young guys can certainly get better but they haven’t shown much to date. While I don’t like our chances with Cleveland and Devernay, I don’t see that as a reason they are going after a JUCO WR.
I think they are pretty confident with Andrews too
At this point you would think OU would be a very very attractive school to kids. We will play you early if you are good enough. We spread the ball around. Our D Line is rotating a lot of guys. The secondary is getting better every game. We even have alternate unis. Most of all we put guys in the league.
OU is a very attractive school to kids.
Maybe even very very
Don’t forget the new athletic facilities and stadium renovations. Plus we play Ohio St the next 2 years
Abdul Adams is a guy I liked when we offered I need to see his senior highlights, I only assume he’s the committed running back.
Also I figured hardy would look around felt like we were a place holder for him. And I would be ok with it because I’ve never seen him as a wr on his highlights. Need to get tyrie though.
I would completely on board with stealing Adams. Michigan St has a pretty good track record these past 5 years of picking out underrated rb’s.
Thought I saw somewhere that tOSU rb commit decommitted?
Anybody think KST gives Baylor and the freshman qb any trouble at all? Thought on whether or not we cover 26 against Iowa St.
No and Yes
I don’t expect KSU to give Baylor much resistance, but will be watching to see if I am wrong. Don’t expect to cover 26 with ISU.
Not feeling the mojo on the cover huh?
We’ve been playing well, but I don’t think ISU is as bad as their record. I have proven time and time again that I can be wrong though.
I agree with ya, we just seem to be getting better each week.Im sure it will be a good game i just see us scoring alot
Me neither. They’ve clearly got some good players if you watch them play.
I think they gave it all to Tejas and because of that they’re spent and out of gas they come out very flat and role over. OU 63 ISU 10
I’m not feeling a blow out of that magnitude, especially with Baylor on the horizon. Workmanlike 14-21 point edge IMO.
I know one thing. ISU’s defense plays the run very well. Their pass defense is a little suspect, but they do play hard all the time. Their offense reminds me a bit of KSU’s, with a lot of QB runs and misdirection plays. I still say OU is focused on ISU only and we beat them by at least 3 TD’s.
yes they will but KSU cant cover Coleman and Cannon all game and Linwood will be leaned on A LOT. Baylor 44-20
I think Baylor rolls. No problems at all.
I hope Baylor breezes past ksu and Stidham ends up with a sense of false hope and security. Then, next week, Stryker and Bond take turns crushing his soul.
What’s the story on Baccus? He’s an ILB and a JUCO. Was he always a target or have things cooled off with other ILBs we were recruiting?
I think it’s just a visit. I’d be surprised if he left with a scholarship offer.
Oh he doesn’t have an offer yet?
Not from the Sooners.
We have people higher up on the board
Always been a Baccus fan but not sure where he fits. With his speed, he may be an edge rusher like Striker but much bigger/faster. He would do a good job with coverage in the flats too. You have 2 ILB who will be back next year with 2 behind them. Also, I think he is a 2 for 2 guy.
Chattman – I know some may not care for him since he doesn’t play “one” position. However, to have someone on D with that versatility & length could open a lot of options for MS. He could go to Nickel or OLB. Guy would be around 220 – 230 at OU. I really like his upside.
Can we get an update on Elysee Mbem-Bosse?
ILB out of GA – Seems to be liking the Sooners lately…
Nice self update. JHF
I’ve probably missed this somewhere but what is the latest on Levi Draper? is he a solid OSU commit or do we have a chance to get him in Norman?
He’s not even halfway done with his junior year of high school. His bowel movements are barely solid.
gross man

I decided to write a Broadway Musical based on Two Girls and a Cup.
Duet.
Once you see it, you can not un-see it.
I was thinking he was a 2016 kid. we’ve got plenty of time then. thanks.
He is visiting Alabama this weekend. He is still committed, but can tell you he is liking OU, OSU & Alabama at the moment.
Thanks Brandon and I hope we stay on him. All good options but hope he plays for OU.
smart kid, gets to see bama/lsu for free
ellis, I find it very hard to call someone “committed” when he is visiting other schools as much as Draper is. If I’m OSU, I’m not feeling real good right now about Draper.
For Dline recruiting , I think OU should focus up on C Daniels , E Oliver. Also im somewhat hoping that Adrian Hardy decommits , their is just better players higher up on our board.
What makes you so sure this kid can’t play?
Their is better options for us to go with . I personally want Tyrie Cleveland , Lamar Jackson.

Boomer!
S00NER!
I’ll have another heaping serving of crow.
Hope that hold through the season’s end.
The numbers will change, but I like the way they are playing and think they will retain the ranking status.
I agree. They look totally different from the last couple of seasons (with a few individual game exceptions).
As long as the team stays focused I like the way this season is unfolding.
If they can hold TCU, Baylor, and OSU in check somewhat I think OU wins those games.
I don’t see them shutting any of those teams out, but holding them well below their season scoring avg is doable.
Conversely, the defense those three teams are playing does not strike any fear in my heart.
me neither, that’s why I think if OU can hold them(Frogs, Bears)to under 40 they win, they’ll hold OSU to under 30
I will watch the bears ‘student driver’ QB tonight with interest. I think the Cats hold their ground game in check and put the game on him.
We will see what he is made of tonight, first start as a true freshman on the road in a Big 12 game.
Yeah, tonight’s game holds interest to me, not because I think the cats can win, but to see how the young QB for Baylor responds to the obvious pressure Snyder will bring.
I don’t know if the Cats have the talent to hold their run game in check.
They were leading the Big 12 in rushing defense until we played them. Knowing Snyder he will want the young QB to be forced to throw and I think he will scheme to slow/stop the bears from running. Don’t know if he will succeed, but it’s what I would do.
absolutely the right move, let’s see if they can
Me too. Crowd the line of scrimmage and blitz off the edges from time to time to get into his head.
Put him in 3rd and longs, force the frosh QB to make the plays.
or mistakes. : – o
I don’t know. 55-0 by us. If Baylor is anywhere near us it’ll get ugly too. 60-21.
Agree with this. I just pray our Oline holds up against better pass rushers. Overall D for those teams does not concern me but we better be ready to bring in some extra blockers if our line performs like they did against UT.
It does make me happy seeing the OU/Baylor/TCU have played almost the same Big XII opponents so far, and that OU is doing a lot better than they are defensively. Maybe MS has finally got our D working/communicating the way they need to. I am sure those number will grow after November, but seeing how the same offenses OU has played against (plus 600 yards to Tulsa) as Baylor/TCU, and for OU to be better than their “mighty defenses” brings a smile to my face.
Kerry Cooks! That man has done a fantastic job with the DB’s this year. Very impressed with what he has accomplished in a short time.
His guys are always lined up and in position. Their confidence in what they are doing is on full display.
I think getting Parker back to Safety and directing the communications has helped alot with alignments and assignments.
And Will Johnson to nickle. Big Big Big.
Excellent move an WJ has performed like a champ.
Yeah, who saw that coming?! Best surprise of the year.
I agree with you, but also looking at how seamlessly players have had to move around due to injury/cramps with no loss of performance. They know what they are doing and what their backfield mates are doing.
I like it.
Getting them all in the same room definitely has helped communication and cohesion. Great to see.
He has been an excellent hire. If the improvement in his first year here is any indication, I am giddy about the years to come.
Great Stats!
Id love to see OU become known as a defensive juggernaut again. This year could be step one.
Tall order in this conference.
I agree numbers wise but as long as we’re first in our conference I’ll take that.
100%
Can’t happen. Remember, Mike Stoops and Kish are idiots who can’t coach a lick!
lol but
I never thought Kish was an idiot. His problem has always been recruiting ( although things are looking up in that area at LB )
As for Mike. I only consider him a half idiot but moving him up to the pressbox has reduced that to maybe a 1/4 idiot.
Not willing to back off yet? If we hold Baylor to say 30, how about then?
Taco Tech was a step in the right direction, but why don’t we hold off on boasting about anything until we play the elite teams in our conference, okay?
Agreed. There’s a lot of football left to play. Remember the past few years when OU’s defense looked elite until they played better offenses.
Please don’t expect us or anyone to shut down Baylor. It’s not going to happen and can’t happen. Switzer says it’s much like when the wishbone first emerged. You can’t shut it down, can only hope to out score them. If TCU’s Patterson and Michigan St can’t shut it down, don’t expect us to.
Well, true. But we normally have more talent than TCU or MSU. I’d be happy to hold them to 30. We’ll get 40. But then, the CFP committee will talk about being a complete team and not playing defense like the a-holes they are turning out to be.
Right now I say we beat Baylor 38 to 31.
Sounds about right to me.
But, I thought defense was “optional” in the Big XII……
I wasn’t a college athlete, but I cannot imagine the order schools offered me would have much importance in who I visited at all. Just seems like it wouldn’t be that important.
Had the same thought.
I agree, just seems like the easy way out but obviously people make decisions for differing reasons.
I don’t think it’s so much the order of the offer. I think the ones that offer early just have more time to build relationships.
I hear you but it does have to mean something to you that a coach or staff recognized your talent before another. Plus if I was recruiting him I would use that angle all day long. “We saw your talent and knew what you could do a year ago. Now that others have taken notice they want to jump in act they knew all along, but they are just following our lead.”
But I was not a talented HS athlete so no one ever called or even sent me a letter, so I would not have cared when I got a call as long as I got it.
I wonder if OU is keeping tabs on Jordan Bonner at NEO…The kid is 6’6″ 230 and would make a great OLB in the 3-4. He’s fast off the edge and is still learning the game. He didn’t play football until his senior year of high school.
Kid has offers from Nebraska, Tennesee, Kentucky, and others…
Dude can scoot.
Has anyone heard anything about Austin Roberts. It sounded like the coaches were excited about him once he finally got to campus. Have not heard anything since. Also, is there a status on Brooks playing Saturday?
Got to school late so he’s a little behind. Has played in mop up duty. He’s a 2 for 2 guy so this is what happens if you get to campus late. Hopefully next year he’ll be fully prepared to shine.
Got it. thank you
B-Any realistic chance that the Big 10 RB could flip to us?
Here you go, folks.
http://506sports.com/ncaaf.php
Are those all EST?
KJ, I believe those are EST.
Thanks Sam
upper left corner of sat chart– actually, the whole page is et
Got it.
Yes. Sorry. Been on the go since lunch.
Thanks. This format is so much easier to read.
Not only are we in orange on the spreadsheet but we’re also on ESPNU. That’s some BS.
Sure would help if FSU can upset Clemson. Not expecting it, but it could happen. ACC getting a playoff slot isn’t good for the B12.
We have been beat by Baylor for the last two years. By a margin of three or more TD’s. I just want to express this. We must beat Baylor and end this streak. 9 Days away.
i hate that they have 9 days, but I’ve thought since b/f the season that we’d beat them. still think so
Me too. My hypothesis: Briles’s internal goal is to dominate OU, every other game is just a warm up or a celebration of reaching that goal. Hence, 9 days to prep.
update added
Not sure if it’s just me but I don’t see it when I refresh page.
I think its that the B10 RB not coming
Yep, thanks. It comes up now.
Looks like a few interesting additions to the Visitor list. Maybe Obi will come back from the dark side?
There goes the fun of the guessing game, the B10 RB not coming now according to TOP
I think the B10 RB is still coming, and they’re saying he’s not to help cover up the possibility of his name being revealed
Im pretty sure its Ezekiel Elliot looking to transfer to OU but shhhhh on this…its very hush hush.
Yes, I think you’re right, and so it’s just you and I that know this nugget. Don’t tell anyone you loudmouth.
I dont know about you but no one reads my posts so the secrets safe with me.
I hear you, I’m not popular either so we’re good
LMFAOOOOOOOOO
No I heard it’s Adrian Peterson after all he still has one year of eligibility left.
fwiw, we wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of holding the player’s name and then do what, if I’m understanding you right, it seems like you’re suggesting. And I don’t mean anything by that, whether your insinuating it or not, just offering some clarification.
I really don’t think you’re hiding anything, just messing around today. Plus, I always love a good conspiracy theory even if I have to make one up.
RB = Next man up
I wonder is the story of Adrian Hardy looking around is the reason for the late scholarship offers we have heard about this week at the receiver position maybe it’s not a current receiver on the roster that would settle my nerves a little bit.
Why on this site let’s give all the University of Oklahoma athletic department team’s a shout out for a great job on the new academic progress reports great job sooner’s.
First item under the ‘Other’ section from today’s daily links post. https://thefootballbrainiacs.com/ou-oklahoma-sooners-football-news-daily-11-5-15
Thanks Jordan just got in a little while ago didn’t see this morning section thanks again.
I think if I was a conference in tv talks with SECPN I would tell them we are not putting our name on the dotted line unless we get equal tv time across all their networks as the SEC. They have created an unequal playing field in NCAA Football.
So when the ENTIRE offense ends up inside the end zone it’s now a touchdown……got it.
The good news is, they got to lean and push on the tongue dragging bear defense for another play.
Watching some of the Mesquite Horn game tonight, Sooner fans are going to Love 2017 QB Chris Robison.
That’s good news! I’m a fan of his film but highlight film is highlight film and it’s also nice to catch the ongoings between plays. Exciting to hear for sure.
It’s almost half time and he has thrown 3 TD passes. His only incompletion so far his receiver dropped the ball. He is elusive with nifty feet and moves in the pocket very well, senses the rush and moves instinctively. When he does tuck the ball and run he has excellent speed.
He is young and athletic, he needs a few double meat with cheese burgers.
I am not impressed with Baylor.
what’s the take on Baylor so far?
Their octane level has dropped some and we can score on their defense.
yep
Well I bet the line next week is gonna creep close to a pick em. And I bet a lot of national guys will pick ou…I don’t like it only one team needs to play with a chip on its shoulder and that’s ou.
KState gave them all they wanted. If it wasn’t for the turnovers this would of been a real close ball game and possibly went into ot. Give Snyder kudos for having his team ready to play tonight.
Well Baylor barely escaped with their lives, but I wouldn’t read too much into it, and our players better not either. This was Stidham’s first game starting, and it was on the road. He was 23 of 33 for 419 yards with 3 td’s and no picks. That’s not bad at all. In fact I really don’t see any drop off from Russell. The real story here is Baylor’s D…..or lack thereof, especially against the run. But then again Baylor gave up 46 points to Tech last year and 42 points to MSU while the Sooner offense could only eek out 14 points…..in Norman.
Sooners better come ready to play this time. They just better. That’s all I have to say about that.
I feel like this open post if just full of bad news lol.(not trying to knock TFB)
We need to be focused, play well and have no injuries Saturday.
Then we can look to Baylor. I think we have a difficult time winning. Baylor will have twice as many possessions against us at they had against KSU. I’m also worried that Baylor makes Stanvon Taylor look like number 8 for KSU.
Having said that, I think we are good enough to play with Baylor and it was good to see that Stidham looked a lot like a freshman when he was pressured in the pocket.
I’m worried about Baylor…and their mental health after we beat their ass.
Vegasodds.com says that if Bama and LSU combine to score 15 pts there’s a 96% that they will defend it as “big boy football” A week after celebrating their Saints win in a 101 point game.
