– Team News | Ty Darlington: Many of you may have seen the report from News 9’s Dean Blevins this past Monday stating Darlington would likely miss this weekend’s game against Tulsa. Darlington was asked by the media about the reported injury following Tuesday’s practice, which he did not take part in, and declined to give a definitive answer regarding his status.
I have spoken with a source who tells me Darlington did practice on Thursday, however his reps were reduced. I was also told that Nila Kasitati practiced on Thursday, but had reduced reps as well.
At this point I honestly don’t feel confident making a prediction as to whether or not either will play on Saturday. It’s obviously somewhat encouraging that both did at least practice, even if they were limited, but at the same time I can see why the coaches would potentially hold them out for this game, especially with a bye week coming up. – (Super K)
– Weekend Official Visitors: We have been able to confirm the Sooners are expected to host three official visitors this weekend: 2016 OU commit Ryan Parker & Westfield (Houston, TX) teammates WR Tyrie Cleveland and DT Ed Oliver. – (Brandon & Super K)
Needless to say, getting Cleveland and Oliver to Norman this weekend is an important first, and necessary, step in potentially getting OU’s foot in the door for both.
– Jordan Parker: OU is looking to take one more cornerback and it seems they have focused in on Parker (Pittsburg, CA) being that guy. I caught up with Parker earlier this week , who let me know that his official visit for the West Virginia game is still on.
Parker said following that game, he will take one more official visit which will be to Arizona State. Following that visit he is planning to announce his decision. So it sounds like the Sooners will know their fate rather soon.
I asked Parker if there was a coach from all the different schools that are recruiting him with which he is really close, Parker responded “I’m closest to coach (Chip) Viney”. – (Super K)
– Charleston Rambo: 2017 WR Charleston Rambo (Cedar Hill, TX) earned his OU offer live and in person at one of the Sooners’ camps this past summer. I caught up with the talented receiver prospect and it seems he and coach Simmons are building a great relationship. Rambo tells me that he and Simmons have, “been talking everyday since September 1st.” Which was the first day coaches could contact 2017 recruits.
The Sooners already have a couple top 2017 commits and appear to be looking for another. Rambo said, “as of now, they (OU) have shown me the most love out of all of my offers…” Rambo expects to be at the OU vs. Texas game. He also said he’s going to work to set up an unofficial visit to Norman for a game this season. – (Brandon)
– A Top Recruit’s Reaction to Striker: As most of you know by now, Eric Striker had a few words to say to Tennessee fans and some of the recruits in attendance this past weekend in Knoxville. One of the people that had a front row seat to Striker’s ‘rant’ was star 2017 DB Deangelo Gibbs (Suwanee, GA). As we noted recently, Gibbs plans on making a visit out to OU and has been in regular touch with Kerry Cooks.
Gibbs was at Neyland Stadium to witness the spectacular comeback. Gibbs said, “They both fought hard and they both had their ups and downs…I give credit to OU for fighting back hard…it showed me that they are disciplined and they never give up.”
When I asked Gibbs if he heard what Striker yelled, he laughed and said yes. I asked him what he thought of it and he said he though it was “hilarious.” – (Brandon)
– UPDATE (Fri., 8:43 am): Also wanted to mention it’s a pretty big visitor weekend for Lon Kruger and staff as well. The Sooners are expecting to host 2016 commits Kameron McGusty & Matthew Freeman as well as a pair of talented 2017 targets in PFs Brady Manek & Ethan Chargois.

BOOOOOOOMMEERRR!!!!!!!
SSSSSOOOOOOONNNEEERRRRR!!!!
I’d just as soon rest up Darlington and Kasi if they aren’t 100%. That would essentially give them two weeks off, with the bye. Because after that, the grind starts.
was about to say the same thing
I’m trying to decide if it’s better to rest them or not. Seems like this is a big week to let the line try to gel when they’re not against a strong defensive front, and taking your two most senior guys out of the mix doesn’t seem like it would help in that regard. However, it will help get young guys some playing experience, so I really don’t know which would be better.
I tend to agree about resting them, but I would imagine they would be available if the game doesn’t go OU’s way early. With the bye week coming up you just don’t want to see them sustain further injury that could keep them out longer. Tough decisions for Stoops and Coach B.
Yep. Only play in an emergency. Which better not come against the golden hurricane.
Sorry I can’t remember, is Ed Oliver the guy committed to Houston?
Yes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1arjFqoS0U
WOW get this guy
I think he is a must get. He scoops a fumble on the run and weaves his way through traffic. Very athletic for DT, perfect for the way they are playing this year
Probably the most impressive film I’ve seen in… ever.
Consistently shed/threw off multiple blockers and still made the play. Who is recruiting him (at OU) and what position is he being recruited for?
Reynolds and Kish
http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Ed-Oliver-32113/RecruitInterests
Thanks- would be one hell of a backer.
Composite 5* DT
DT Kish Reynolds
Looked like a tidal wave when he was making tackles too, as in he was burying people in the turf and there weren’t many who were going to outrun him.
I love his “last move” on the first play.. WOW
I imagine this is what Ndamukong Suh’s hudl video might’ve looked like when he was coming out of high school – this guy is that kind of dominant IMO. Don’t know much about Houston area football, but all I can say is D@MN, dude is a BEAST!!!
yes he is…jordan elliott was..elliott decommitted and i assume oliver will as well. could get both.
Awesome, thanks!
Want, need Cleveland… BAD !!!!
Oliver is going to be a great player, Really really really hope OU can get him
If we could land both of those guys, we may be looking at a top 5 type class. And those are the kind of difference makers I think we’ve been missing out on recently in recruiting. Land a couple of guys like that, we’ll be in the Playoff again in no time.
Yep, I think so too
it will a major surprise if he leaves the city of Houston….
I honestly do not think it will be a surprise. The kid has family that wants him to stay close but, he did not grow up a fan and most kids want to leave the city they grew up in (if for just a short period). OU can get all these Houston kids if they want them and if they impress this year.
Plus U of H vs OU campus= No brainier OU all the way
As for the game tomorrow, I’m really hoping to see Perine and Mixon both go over a 100 yards, and the D keep Tulsa’s run game in check so they are in 3rd and long all game
That’s pretty telling that the recruit thought Striker talking trash was hilarious. I’m 42 and it didn’t bother me either. So is it just a generational thing? I think not. It’s more of a matter that some people are absolutely obsessed with needing to find a negative aspect in every situation.
Haters going to hate
Haters gonna hate;
Crybabies gonna cry.
Isn’t that the truth
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHaVmFKnK7w
That was classic deflect away from the loss mentality
I read a tweet that Nigel Warrior was not liking it too much.
He needs to lighten up.
safety from the SEC who is leaning only to the SEC, umm not surprised. Truth hurts some times though.
I think the problem Tenn fans had was the fact they were beaten in their own stadium on a big recruit visit weekend. Having Striker make comments to fans and to the recruits upset their fans. On a day that was to be a big win for them they got a big 0.
So if darlington is out. Alvarez moves to center and Danley goes to LG. And if Nila is out, Dalton goes to RG. I could see this lineup LT Brown LG Danley C Alvarez RG Dalton RT Samia at some point in the game.
Crazy.
Damn Patton and Kittles.
It’s Kish/s fault.
Scary for us against Tulsa that we are playing that much youth. Scary for our opponents that we are developing a line that will play together for several years and are very talented.
It will be a strong unit next year. No doubt but man its scary how young this oline is.
That’s what happens when your O-line recruiting is abysmal for three years in a row.
Yep, coach B will get it corrected. I see the switch to a bigger center and not recruiting TE to oline
He also looks for guys with a nasty streak on the field. Something we have missed for a long time. Hard to make the tough yards with “finesse” players.
I agree
Possibly, but remember, based on the starting five at Tennessee, we’ll have to replace 3 of the starters for next year.
This may be a work in progress for a couple of years, until Coach B can get all his guys ready and into the rotation.
I’d like to see us have sustained success – instead of having these 4-5 cycles of raw/inexperienced –> better but still young –> good/great –> strong –> raw/inexperienced. It seems like every time we lose key experienced players to graduation/NFL, the term “reloading” is used but rarely ever achieved.
It seems like Coach BB is trying to accomplish that – not only is he trying to recruit good talent, but also build up better depth so that we really can have that “next man up” sort of situation. Hopefully this bodes well for the future!
It does seem like every 4 years we do have this problem
I think the Air Raid will actually help that. If we start running more up tempo we will have more plays, which means we will need to rotate more. Hopefully, we will also have more blowouts and let some of the younger guys play.
It seems to me that this has become a priority of the entire team this year. I am glad for that. I think Bob realizes that they have failed in some big areas and he is addressing that. Look at the secondary, again, it is young but full of talent and the last class might be the best in the Stoops era. And still Cooks is adding talent in this class and working already on the following.
Good depth seems to be the moto in recruiting this year.
That’s how I see it.
I’m sensing simplified blocking schemes are in order this week.
looks like it may work out exactly that way…………..
Great game to see how our dbs safety’s hold up then get ready for the hillbillies
update added
I’m pretty pumped about the BB team this year. It wasn’t too many years ago, we were a small team. This year we could put 3 bigs on the court with 2 guards if needed, or at least platoon 2 squads without much drop in talent. Will be interesting.
Can’t wait for b-ball!
I’m excited about the season! Wish I lived closer to Norman so I could make games.
I think Buford is the wing we have been missing and waiting for….
My starting lineup C Latin Pf Spangler G cousins G Buddy G Jordan. Off the bench Buford, Odomes, manyang, walker.
Odomes is a star
Coach Kruger is reloading. Congrats on a great class for 2016. Lon Kruger is a hell of a guy. I went to basketball camp as a freshman and sophomore in HS with him in charge at K-State. Steve Henson was on the KSU team then (also at the camp with Mitch Richmond) and both of them and coach Kruger would stop and take the time to help each individual there work on their game. Needless to say I’m showing my age, I can’t stand KSU (parents idea to send me to that camp), and at as a 6′-0″ forward I was never going to be anything more than a HS basketball player, but it did help me out much more than my small town b-ball coach by leaps and bounds. He’s been a winner where ever he’s landed and most of it is due to the type of person he is and the way he handles players. They like playing for him.
Class act all the way around. Bball team is going to be very very good
I agree with team coming back and the newbies this team could make a very deep tourney run. As a Sooner fan living in Kansas I pray to God that they finally end KU’s Big 12 championship reign. It’s time!
This could be the year. I’m excited to see what Buford and Odomes has to offer.
My next door neighbor played for him at K-State. He thinks the world of Coach Kruger.
You guys don’t realize how far OU BB has come. When I was at OU in the sixties, the question was OU good enough to finish out of the Big Eight cellar. I think I attended one game in my six years at OU. OU finished above 500 in only two years from 64-70.
In fact, the entire Athletic Department has demonstrated awesome improvements. Wrestling was very good but the football team was either great or terrible. After all, we went 3 & 7 in 1965. We did win on tie for the conference championship in ’67 and ’68.
“…one game in my six years at OU…” Hopefully, you became a Doctor 🙂
At least, that was my excuse 🙂 🙂
hahaha I was thinking the same thing
A person, after reviewing my grades, asked me if I majored in Booze and Broads. I told him I did and that I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I got the job.
What is the deal with why OU does not have men’s soccer?
Title IX
Because it’s a girl’s sport. /s
Balancing the budget and the addition of men’s soccer would require OU to add a women’s sport with about 15 scholarships to comply with Title IX. As a consequence men’s soccer would result in a major drain on athletic department financial resources.
Ah, and here I’d thought since we had women’s soccer…..
We should just add a Women’s football. I can see it now, ncaa LFL.
The season can run from May to August. Tanning oil season.
It has been said before and it will be said again but “WE GOTTA FIND A WAY TO KEEP COACH VINEY” He does so well with the limited amount of recruiting he can do right now and if he was a full time Coach and could really recruit he may and probably would be our best recruiter!
He might be one of those guys for whom you create a position.
I was wondering this. Is there a limit on the number of coaches college teams are allowed to have?
If Darlington is going to miss a game this is sure the time to do. OU does need someone other than him getting experience at making line calls. If we get into conference play and he goes down this young line would be in chaos. Now on that note I have never been impressed with his talent or blocking skills. In fact I’d say he’s the least talented lineman starting right now, but he is also the smartest and very experienced. So get some rest big man and let someone else get some reps for a just in case moment down the line.
All true but it’s almost impossible for me to see the coaches put him on the bench. So if you’re operating under the assumption he’ll continue to be among your Top 5 guys, IMO you’d like him (and those other four guys) to play together as much as possible if for no other reason to build the continuity they clearly still don’t have right now.
Totally agree Jordan they need all the work together they can get and I’m sure you know more about the extent of his injury than I do. I’d just hate for him to go out this week and injure himself further with conference play around the corner. If it is not an injury that could worsen then I fully agree with you, leave him out there along with Nila. Who do you think would move to center if TD doesn’t play this week?
A possible pair of parkers prowling the perimeter? Say that 5 times quickly.
A possible pair of parkers prowling the perimeter.
A possible pair of parkers prowling the perimeter.
A possible pair of parkers prowling the perimeter.
A possible pair of parkers prowling the perimeter.
A possible pair of parkers prowling the perimeter.
Easy.
I smell copy and paste.
I said it five times. I said it quickly. Those were the only parameters specified.
At least you didn’t say, “THAT” 5 times.
Any slow talking resident of Alabama would find that very easy. Now, some fast talking Yankees could experience issues.
Until I moved to Alabama I didn’t know Bob had five syllables.
So, how many syllables in: “A possible pair of parkers prowling the perimeter.”?
I don’t know but bring a sleeping bag and something to eat.
Request from me for you above post about stats after a bye week…
That’s a lot of alliteration for an aspiring amateur author.
I’d say play both Darlington and Nila Until the game is hopefully out of hand by half time, then you can sit them the rest of the way.
Cuarenta y primera.
42nd then.
Anybody noticed we have regained the ability on how to use our time outs this year?? bout time …lol
Yes! We actually had them in our pocket at the end of game. Last year we would burn two or three on defense a game. We’ve since learned DBs were meeting in different rooms. SMH. Alot about last season makes little sense. Glad it’s history!
Hey K, any idea who was taking snaps at C, when Darlington was out Monday,Tuesday & Wednesday?
Very likely Jon Alvarez
Wasn’t Alex Dalton a former Center in HS?
at times, yes
Charles Walker has been impressive so far this year. Looks like the light might finally be coming on.
Charles Walker is what Oakman sees when he takes a selfie.
I asked this elsewhere this week but never noticed a reply if one was made; does anyone know what our recent record is for the week coming off of a bye week?
Sounds like a Bob Edwards question to me but what do I know? 😉
as long as its 1-0 this year 😉
Ding, ding, ding. No more calls, please. We have a winner.
From what I can tell Stoops is 19-7 after a bye week. That number is close but may not be exactly right.
Thx
Since 2008 7-6…
2011.. 5-5
Its a 50% rate.. 1 or 2 losses in a season. I think that’s a little telling.
Thanks
I loathe bye weeks. And yes, does seem Bob’s teams come out flat at least half the time after those off weeks. I’m sooooo glad we only have 1 this year, and it comes early. Gives our team a nice chance to get into some good rhythm down the stretch.
another site indicated both kasatati & Darlington would be on the sidelines this week. Alavarez is apparently the new C but no mention of who was filling in for Kasatati…….
Riveting stuff.
Not comforting. I thought Alvarez looked awful against Tennessee. Got beaten repeatedly.
There were numerous plays that Alvarez literally drove his guy several yards, then into the ground. Especially on a couple where he was pulling. Sure he got beat on a few. All of our linemen did at times. That’s why Mayfield was scrambling around for a better part of the game. Also, Tennessee is pretty good on DL. Definitely didn’t “look awful.”
Good post, I thought Akron had a “pretty good” DL, I thought Tennesse had a “really good” DL.
Agreed
Beaten 9 out of 12 pass plays in the first half according to one video analysis I saw, more than the other linemen combined.
Okay, you’re right. He’s awful.
He may end up an All American. He was just not very good last Saturday. I expect them all to improve as the season goes on.
Big difference between IS and WAS. Kind of like the difference between being broke and poor. One is a temporary financial condition. The other is a state of mind.
I was being sarcastic. Good description of what is and was means. Thanks!
He’s definitely stronger at run blocking, and good at pulling, but no question he struggled in pass protection. But I think he’ll improve.
Time for Joseph Paul to step up. I also think Samia can play G as well
Wasn’t Dru playing OT, or am I mistaken?
Are the problems with the O-Line something that is fixed with just more reps and experience? Coming from someone who has never played football except with my thumbs, OL play seems incredibly complex – having the innate talent/instinct, developed strength, leveraging techniques to block effectively, quick reflex recognition of stunts and blitzes and how to counter rushing, extreme concentration to limit mental errors (penalties and/or whiffs), and complete trust and unity in your entire line to work as one unit (I’m sure I missed out on other qualities). While experience and game-time play would definitely help, I’m also curious how I should temper my expectations for the year. Is it reasonable to expect that by the end of the season the O-Line play should be solid, or should I wait for 1-2 seasons before expecting that?
Besides the QB, easily the most difficult position on the field. I would say that a lot of it will come with continuity of playing together for multiple games. You get a better feel for one another, how to communicate, etc. However, I would say the O-line in 1-2 years will be much better than this O-line just due to more experience, older, faster, stronger, etc. I think they can be a serviceable O-line this year, but I would not expect them to have 2 or 3 All-Conference guys by the end of the season.
As a group,OL’s regularly score higher than any other on the NFL’s Wonderlic IQ test. I’ve never thought too highly of the term “skilled player” as applied to ballhandlers; a term implying that OL’s are somehow less skilled than other positions, which is far from the truth. This coming from a 5′ 9″ guy whose major playing distinction was getting knocked on his ass a few times by Mike Fanning in middle school.
I would sit Darlington and Kasi, OU will score 60 plus this weekend
https://twitter.com/OU_Football/status/644886351117094912
Devonte seems to be a hell of a young man
I was pumped to see his JUCO film when OU offered. Hoping the Vols game was only scratching the surface of what this kid can do.
Totally agree no limits for this guy
If Sylvester Stallone and Rick James had a baby…
lmao
Post of the week! Cheers to you R/R 2016
I didn’t even know they had been married. Wow.
Always heard that Sly had to have a pump installed, after all the roids.
where you come up with these things?…lmao=

…and now I will excuse myself to go wash my brain out with bleach.
LOL! That cracked me up. Thanks, Jed.
That’s the one … the weekend is now here. Thank you R/R!?
I about spit pieces of my sandwich across the office today when I read this, fortunately I didn’t and no one was around to ask me why I almost choked to death on my lunch!

So, are we calling this guy 007?

I vote Devante and Jordan Thomas switch jersey numbers.

“When I asked Gibbs if he heard what Striker yelled, he laughed and said yes. I asked him what he thought of it and he said he though it was “hilarious.” – (Brandon)”
Of course he did. College kids totally get this. This is a tempest in a teapot. Understandable that the coaches don’t want this image and want the players, particularly team leaders, to exercise better self control, but going all crazy about a college kid using some “colorful” language at a football rivalry is silly, imho.
Is the Ed Oliver visit confirmed through him? When Cleveland mentioned earlier that they’d visit together, Oliver denied it…
OL starters this week (as of right now). Brown, Farniok, Alvarez, Samia, St. John (if Nila can’t go). If Nila goes he may be on a snap count. Samia will rotate through RG and RT.
Thanks KJ
No problem. The Brown/Farniok combo is intriguing. That a pretty big side of the line, hopefully the run game will get alot of work on that side this week.
I always thought Farniok wasn’t a tackle, he does not have the feet for it.
I agree he has slow feet for a tackle, especially LT. He would be must better suited anchoring down at guard. Only thing is he’s not a natural bender, and most DTs are going to be about 6’5 or shorter. If he can get his pad level low at the point of attack he may very well have found a new position.
hope so for him. a good showing at guard will at least get him some NFL tryouts
isnt he 6.7?
I thought I saw 6’9″ somewhere…..but yeah he’s pretty tall.
And I believe Brown is around 6’8″. Good thing mayfield is shifty cause it is going to be a nightmare for him to see over the left side of the line.
Tulsa’s right DE is also 250lb vs the left DE (Alexander) who is 284lb. Brown almost has 100 pounds on that right DE.
Interesting that this weeks’s replacement guards are back up tackles. The back up guards are then 3rd team?
That’s what it’s looking like for this week. Although there’s been shuffling because of the injuries, in my opinion I think this may be a good week for Coach B to experiment with some things before conference play. He knows what the backup combinations can do, so if he needs to “break the glass in case of an emergency” he can.
I like it, the need to shuffle guys with little drop off during a game will be key somewhere down the road
Thanks for the info KJ!
I suppose “experimenting” against the Tulsa defense is the safest opponent.
Any doubts?
Good info. Thank you KJ
Farniok at LG just makes absolutely no sense to me, like at all.
tooooo talll
has to mean the other guards aren’t capable of playing at this level yet
Yep. And maybe that we’re going for “road graders”, expecting to focus on the run game.
Im content with rushing for 300 and milking the clock before the bye week
I was scratching my head too. But Coach B must see something with that combo if Danley isn’t getting runs with the 1s. Well see how it works out.
Evidently 🙂
Regardless, as always, VERY much appreciate you sharing.
No problem J, again that’s what it looks like right now, but as you know things can change last minute.
No doubt.
Mayfield wont be passing much to the left from the pocket
That can’t be good…”If he runs to left, its a running play, if he runs to the right, its a play action to shep.”
It has been that way for the first two games anyway. Baker needs to try something other than rolling/bailing right.
Handing off to Perine two times in a row?
Create a nice pocket and allow him to step up in to it. Every time.
I guess Dalton, Paul, or Danley just not ready for primetime. Any of the young guards doing any good, KJ?
J Paul hasnt been in the convo much. Dalton and Danley are both rotating but not really an option to start. Everyone else is with the scout team.
I guess we are really thin on the oline this year.
that’s a tall guard.
The kid is supposed to be able to move the pile, now is probably the best time to try him there. He is not going to play OT at Oklahoma, he just doesn’t have the feet for it.
I said this in Spring and some older fans jumped on me for being negative.
No sense because his lack of experience, size etc…but remember in the Bama game we had a guard playing RT that pancaked a few guys.
Obviously, it makes a lot of sense to Coach B, or he wouldn’t be doing it.
I like samia kicking in to the RG spot.
I see a lot of heavy footed pass pro on that left side with Brown, Farinok, Alvarez.
I’m glad its only Tulsa or speed would be problem.
I say use our size and strength.. pistol.. run it with perine 30 times. Get the W and go into the bye.
Have to move people or at least turn someone for holes. I think it’ll be all cylinders running and passing with play action. Whatever happened to the shovel passes?
No idea, did riley use the shovel pass at ECU? I don’t remember seeing it in any of the ECU highlights.
Lets just get out with a win tomorrow.
Spend the next 2 weeks installing some creativity to get ready for conference play.
Mayfield used it effectively in the Spring game with Brooks.
Run Perine 30 times, run Mixon 30 times
that’s 6’8″ and 6’9″ on the left side. Poor Mayfield isn’t going to be able to see hahahaha
Simple solution. Run left throw right.
Unless the center pulls, I would wonder about the “new guards” pulling well. These two are taller than the guards, right? Will that make it harder for BM to see the middle? – Hemi beat me to that question
Are they planning on doing wider splits with this group?
Not sure, im guessing no. But, personally I like wider splits in general.
Perhaps this will be part of the growing evolution for our version. Would be a nice wrinkle for Baylor/TCU.
Run the ball left on every play. Samia at G makes sense, he played both G and OT in HS.
I guess Coach B just wants his best 5 on the field, and the rest can sub in as needed. Should be ideal for Tulsa. I think Nila plays though
If this transpires, we all have to reconstruct our “what I’ll be looking for” comments.
This was always a concern for me Nilla is getting blown up and he gets hurt a lot.
Im very interested to see someone else in there.
thxs for the info you provide
Thanks KJ!
Maybe having Farniok in between Alvarez and Brown helps with the protection and run scheme calls that need to be made at the line.
This is what I’ve heard as well. I’ve also heard that if someone gets hurt between now and Saturday that I’m starting at Center for the Tulsa game.
Not expecting anything to happen necessarily, but it might be something to keep an eye on just in case.

I saw Quick recruiting him on twitter
Hope he is good to his word as he has stated on his twiter
He hasn’t stated anything. I think you are thinking of Bryce Youngquist who said that he would not do any other official visits.
Yep my bad

Appreciate it bro ! Come play with me now Can make plays everyday in practice…. If you could catch me !
You hearing some rumblings with Kelly?
No rumblings, but the prevailing opinion seems to be if he doesn’t wind up at OU then Michigan would be the other likely destination.
the guy’s face while smacking him in the arse is pretty funny

I thought Oliver had tweeted that he was not coming and said Tyrie was lying?

Kind of an abbreviated visit for Parker. He plays @ NEO tomorrow at 7pm. Who’s coming?
It’s always a good step to get these guys on campus I think it’s going to be hard to flip Oliver though. Seems to really be in love with Houston.
Oliver may not sign with OU, but I think it’s doubtful that he signs with Houston either. He got caught up in the whole “stay in Houston” deal early on with several others, but that pact has already fallen apart and I can’t see a talent such as Oliver going to UH alone. JMO.
Yeah I wasn’t really thinking about what I said… If he loved Houston he wouldn’t be on this OV
In love with mediocrity.
He visited atm on the 12th, OU today, I don’t have any insider information as to his head, but he is looking.
He’s probably 50/50 and if he ends up anywhere but Houston I would bet a&m
Houston is his home. But he can always go home in the off season after OU sends him straight to the NFL in 3 or 4 years.
http://espn.go.com/moresports/story/_/id/13682526/texas-hs-players-say-coach-told-hit-referee
what an extremely messed up situation. they cried racism from the ref 1st. now they’re throwing a coach under the bus. figure out what happened and throw the book at the whole lot of em. if true of ref? bye bye. coach? bye bye. players? bye bye. supposedly had around 4 or so guys chucked from this game. not just late hits, but maliciousness. coaching staff is obviously a bunch of turds. i’d say if there’s enough wrong and enough people at fault just do away with the whole shooting match, but i’d hate to get rid of the sport at the school for a few extremely rotten apples
This is a messed up situation. It’s pathetic.
What’s so bad about the whole mess is that normal people can’t live their lives. This kind of foolishness finds its way into their lives when they are minding their own business.
not to start a political debate but i wish we had courthouse hangings still
Tell me how you feel, will you?
Seriously, I get it. It’s sad that there has been very little progression in society. Knuckleheads are everywhere.
Hang someone for an assault?? Umm…ok.
Did I say anywhere that I think these kids need to be hanged? Anywhere? Cause I don’t see it. Just simply stated I wish we still had em. But you go ahead and read those 14 words any way you deem fit and conclude any way you want
Then don’t.
Ban them ALL
yep. all of em. i just don’t get why they get to go on good morning america to try to justify what they did. you nailed a defenseless dude with his back turned. smell ya. do the crime, do the time. it shouldn’t take some bleeding hearts to try and lessen your penalty or some fake, jump on the back of all these “the cops did it and we’re just fighting back” things that are contagious around the country to try and say “these poor poor wittle fewas need a pat on the back. its all the adults that are making them their scapegoats.” wrong-o. these clowns are on tape doing the crime. too many people are trying to run this country into the toilet
and succeeding, sadly
Hard to say what that smirking smiley on Cleveland’s Tweet might mean- not too convincing to me but hey, I’m no hip Tweetster either 😉
I think I accidentally hit the inappropriate flag on your reply to the tweet I posted. I was asking if you had paid attention to the name ( I didn’t at first), but somehow I guess I got the cursor in the wrong spot. So, sorry, didn’t mean to.
no problem-o… If you just hit the up or down arrow again, it cancels it out
Some may have already seen this and I know its time to move on, but man this is pretty cool.

Found this tweet funny, Oliver had retweeted. It almost caught me off guard.

I would love to see coach JM return and would 4sure thank him.
You did catch the name?
Had a couple folks ask about my two basset hounds Boomer and Sooner, so thought I’d post a pic or two. No action shots because, well, basset hounds don’t do action shots. They will be pulling hard for the crimson and cream tomorrow, however!
Those are about as active as any hound I’ve seen!
Bassets are good at holding down the deck boards, very talented.
If they could talk, this is what they’d say…..
I’ve seen Bassett’s in action, digging out canyons in the back yard with those huge front paws. 🙂
Mine are killers, as long as the pray is blind, slow, or stupid. They are hell on moles, voles, and the odd toad. Even saw them teaming up on a crippled dove once in the yard. With us humans they are sweet and kind. Really soft mouths around the kiddos too. Make great pillows.
Lone them out – I have enough moles to keep them busy for weeks.
My brother has had 4 basset rescues, including the 2 he has now. Wonderful dogs …. except they lose all sense of control around BBQ
They really are slaves to their noses. I’m the only one in the family that they listen to and only as long as they don’t catch a scent of something strange. Affable, lovable animals though.
Well, it is BBQ – who doesn’t lose all sense of control?
Living da life!
“Basset hounds don’t do action shots.”
Made me laugh.
OOps
LOVE THIS! LOL
Send it to ol’ elephant ears
Nonsense. Bama didn’t really want to be there.
Ok well its not 11 Saturday yet just checked grrrrrr BOOMERRRRRRRR

Alrighty then….
I suffered through all 3:38 min
Thank you my IQ just dropped 30 points.

Friday night football prep.

Damn….! Those look pretty amazing! I would have to be careful not to get any on my forehead…because my tongue would beat my brains out trying to get to it!
The black olives are a nice touch, I think.
I concur…
Needs Jalapenos. Just sayin’ 🙂
Trying to watch some Friday night college football, hopefully watch the Seminoles lose, and I have to listen to freaking Mack Brown. Another reason I can’t stand watching ESPN!
I do my best to not watch EsecPN. Rangers BB is on and I am watching OU Womens soccer on SSTV. More interesting.
Womens soccer up 2-1 on #19 Tulsa. About 30 min to go.
channel (DirecTv?)
Soccer is on SS.TV
Womens Volleyball is on DirecTV ch 676-2 vs #7 Washington
Thank you one-million dollars.
Tips are appreciated 🙂
In honor of the Sooner Women playing volleyball tonight, here’s the lovely and spectacular #22, Madison Ward and her velvet voice with some No Diggity, enjoy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQgvZ_brQsY
Girl’s got some pipes.
And she’s gorgeous.
She has plenty of vids on youtube and if you can find it, does a little diddy w/ Nila in a stairwell for acoustics. (not on youtube that I could tell).
I like this too.
https://youtu.be/aDu3-DRvifY
She is amazing. She has an old, soulful voice.
What a brave rendition of James Brown song. We get an idea of the kind of music she listens to.
This is a little old, with Nila…

Thanks, been looking for that one
No problem…
She’s so smooth……….really easy to listen to. Thanks!!
Nice win by Women’s soccer. 2-1 over #19 Tulsa

GAMEDAY! Headed to Norman.
Looks like the team is having fun this year. Hopefully that continuity pays off.

Best College Gameday sign….
I wonder if Baylor girls are too.
Heard WWLS The Animal quote that Gibbs thought the remarks from Striker were hilarious. Did not hear them cite Braniacs though.
Of course they didnt cite. Why Cite? That would make it look like the animal didnt come up with that on their own…
SIAP,
Devante Bond: An Exception to the Rule

I
blamecredit Kish.I think Kish has been a Go-for-Broke kinda guy when it comes to recruiting- he swings for the fences in trying to land the impact guys; sometimes he swings and misses but when he connects… #23
His batting average for the past two years is ascending.
Yep
AWESOME! I love watching stories like this. And look at the smile on Bond’s face! Priceless. Thanks for posting!
If the Wolves continue to do this, it could get ugly today.

Just an observation……this defense is playing faster and cleaner. Not many missed tackles either.
