First off, happy game week! Only a few short days from now and we will finally have some college football!
– Devwah Whaley: Last night ESPN’s Gerry Hamilton reported that 2016 RB Devwah Whaley (Beaumont, TX) will take his official visit to Oklahoma on November 21st for the TCU game.
I was able to confirm the report with Whaley this morning who to date has only set up two official visits, the first being in September when he will visit Georgia. The other obviously being Oklahoma.
I don’t want to read too much into it, but I’ve spoken with Whaley on multiple occasions and continue to get the feeling OU and UGA are the favorites. Last time I wrote a significant update on Whaley, you’ll recall I mentioned just that. – (Super K)
– Tyree Horton: I have confirmed JUCO 2016 LB & Florida State commit Tyree Horton (Highland C.C.) is planning to be in Norman this weekend for an official visit. I spoke with one of our scouting partners down in Miami (Dade County), which is where Horton originally hails from. This person knows Horton well, so I asked them if this was just a trip for the sake of doing so or if there is legitimate interest on Horton’s part. In this person’s opinion, it was the latter. Evidently, Horton is looking to check out a few programs to see what they have to offer. – (Super K)
– Obi Eboh: In case you missed our Sunday update in the weekend OP, we noted that 2016 CB Obi Eboh could be very close to pulling the trigger on a commitment. Allow me to expound just a bit on that.
I spoke with a few sources, including someone close to Eboh, and was told that Obi and his family are going to speak to the OU coaches (I was told this yesterday afternoon, so it may have already happened by now) to discuss things. I was also told that Eboh and his family are seriously contemplating a commitment and if it happens right now, it certainly looks like OU would be in the driver’s seat.
One of the main competitors for the Sooners in Eboh’s recruitment was Duke. And I say ‘was’ because one source I spoke with says Duke’s defensive back class filled up recently with the surprise commitment of Dylan Singleton (Lawrenceville, GA), who many thought would end up at Georgia. Putting two and two together, it would appear Eboh may be feeling a bit of pressure to take a spot while it’s still available. Though it is certainly worth mentioning Eboh holds a number of other quality offers.
Eboh is a guy who we keep being told is close to committing, but it continues to get pushed back for whatever reason. So we’d be remiss in not at least acknowledging that could ultimately prove to be the case in this instance as well. But again, we are told the family is considering a commitment at this time. – (Super K)
– Team News | Nila Kasitati: Was chatting with JY last week about this year’s offensive line, and Kasitati’s name came up during the conversation. JY mentioned to me that he thinks it might be wise for the Sooners to move Kasitati over to LG, from his original RG spot, and to put Jonathan Alvarez at RG in his stead.
JY said that with the expected decision to start redshirt freshman Orlando Brown at left tackle, having a veteran like Kasitati at left guard lined up next to the would-be first-year starter could be quite helpful. Additionally, JY mentioned having Alvarez, also a potential first-year starter, lined up between two upperclassmen in Ty Darlington and Josiah St. John could help him as well. Otherwise, you would potentially have two first-year starter in Brown and Alvarez lined up next to one another on the same side.
Armed with JY’s suggestion, I asked around to see if perhaps Bill Bedenbaugh had the same thought process. And I have been told by one source there is a chance Kasitati may indeed play LG. I couldn’t confirm that through a second source so I can’t be certain, but we could find out soon enough with OU’s official depth chart expected to be released later today.
Probably not ‘huge news’ per se, but a move that, as JY suggested, would seem to make a lot of sense. – (Super K)

Boomer!
Sooner!
It would worry me that blitzers would be unaccounted for with 2 first timer starters on the left. I’m hoping that screens and other quick passes are always available in the playbook with Perine and Co getting 5-6 yards on first downs to give the guys some time to adjust
OUI reported the following yesterday. Hopefully the release of his name here won’t affect OU’s chances.
___
The Sooners will have three recruits taking officials this weekend…. as well as a player we wish to keep off the message boards, as he is already committed to another school and we would effectively end the Sooners’ chances of a visit here if his name were released.
I presume this is in reference to Horton.
This visit isn’t a secret. It’s been on Twitter for several days, as well as other OU boards. If it was supposed to be kept a secret, then someone did a very poor job of doing so.
Additionally, fwiw…
https://twitter.com/Thorton_10/status/638349085947203584
Nothing’s showing up for me.
@Thorton_10: Would be on a official visit to oklahoma this weekend
#BoomerSooner
Guess he deleted his tweet about visiting OU
Has OU offered ?
Don’t believe so
Was it determined that St. John just doesn’t have the athleticism to play LT? In the spring, it seems many thought that he might step in at LT and it would be a battle for the starter at RT between Brown, Frison and Farniok.
I’ve always heard that St. John’s best trait was his athleticism, so I wouldn’t think that would be the thing that was holding him back on the left side. I’d like to believe that Brown is just that good and took it from him, but I don’t know how true that would be either.
Exactly what I heard. I heard that St. John has world’s of potential from a two-year starter on the OL, so that ought to narrow it down. The guy Darlington talked about as having a world of talent. From that I’m thinking we are pretty good at tackles if Brown is better than him. Makes me sleep better.
Any chance of Eboh coming up to Norman after his game in Tulsa Friday night?
LB and secondary recruiting is getting very interesting. I can’t wait to see how this all shakes out.
Wow – FAST to the OP. Nice!
Just curious, how interested would we really be in a LB Juco? Assuming we get Kelly and Jackson, I would think we’d be full.
Any news on what’s going on with Chris Brown?
JY has always been “the man” in regards to the “BIG UGLIES”. Good insight dude!
I call them the “Beautiful Bigguns.”
EasTex OL are not what I think of when someone says “Beautiful Bigguns”
Come on dude, haven’t you seen Coach B’s profile shot
lmao….I really laughed on that one, now the office next to me is looking like “what the eff is he laughing at?”
Please don’t put man-boob images in my head!!!LOL
http://image.cdnllnwnl.xosnetwork.com/pics33/640/VN/VNMRYREOOVXLHMA.20150819002520.jpg
He’s a beaut.
He’s a great coach, but I can think of only 1 old truck driver less photogenic than he is.
“…closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you’ve ever seen…”
Are you in an insane asylum EasTex?
Just funnin’ with the lyrics to a popular song.
Just jest in with you
“It puts the lotion in the basket”
NORM!!!
Ah-ha!
But I’m a leg man, so we have different thoughts. 🙂
🙂 it’s ok to be different?
Since you asked a question, yes…yes it is.
ET you must really like 22 in the daily
How did you guess?
I might have to make that my new screen saver lol
In yoga pants?
Who said they wanted to see Coach B in yoga pants?
Don’t get me started.
Can’t pass an opportunity like this up:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYv4Fs7nzIY
Priceless!!!!!!
and that is why we are paying JY the big bucks…insight like that.
If we are looking at a Juco LB, why not offer Baccus from NEO? Heard he was all over the field this weekend
He is the #1 JUCO OLB.
How many LBs does OU lose this year? Striker/Shannon/Bond and maybe Evans if he has a great year and declares early
Evans might not start this year.
I think he’s going to be pretty good this year
I think that not only does Evans start but that he’ll be our best ILB this year.
Hes’s been in contact with OU, I thought we offered already.
247 shows he is being recruited by M Stoops and Kish, but no offer yet. It could be needing updated but…..
Sounds like a good ol fashion slow play!
Sounds like, well if Dontavious Jackson chooses elsewhere we have a back up plan
What time is the press conference?
Game week press conference. Woo hoo!
EDIT: Soonersports.tv says its at 12 pm.
Is it live on Soonersports.tv?
http://www.soonersports.com/liveEvents/liveEvents.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=31000
noon, we’ll have a thread up like usual
should be at noon today
Will there be a delayed telecast of the OU game? Zero chance I can get free to watch it live on PPV.
If I remember right its monday night on FSSW at midnight. Set your DVR
Yessir, at midnight…3 hour broadcast.
For Tulsans, which AM/FM radio stations broadcast the games?
KMOD? 97.5
KMOUD…!
Is there a radio station available on TuneIn (or another site) that will broadcast the game?
Maybeeeee KRXO 107.7 I think.
Thanks to both of you. I’ll try them.
I have favorited the Akron station on TuneIn already..
was it 92.3?
I think it was like a Arkron Zips sports station ?
Don’t know if you have a sirius radio, but siri 108 will broadcast the game.
Don’t have it, but thanks. Will try the Akron station that Randy mentioned.
A lot of them go black during game time. But the one that has been open the last 2 year is KGSO, Wichita. Hope it’s still up this year
Yeah. Think KXRO mentioned below is among those that started doing that. I had them fav’ed. Will try KGSO or sirius/xm. Thanx.
GUYS!!!! We’re undefeated right now! Let’s keep this momentum up into November! Haha
Always enjoy the OP – I think it will be wise to move Nila over to LG. I am excited to finally see this offense and what Mixon can do. Also, I am curious to see how we utilize Flowers! Boomer!
The aggies picked up a 4 star RB over the weekend, so that would probably knock them out of the race for whaley, wouldnt it?
Im not a bleacher report fan, but according to their sources atm will recruit 2 quality rb’s for 2016
They cant even successfully use 1 RB, they dont need 2 lol. Especially with them getting ford.
After Perine and Mixon both exceed 1200 all-purpose yards (with most of Perine’s coming between the tackles) this argument will not be an issue.
I agree. Night and day difference between our air raid and A&M’s. We will actually be able to run the ball.
It will help Whaley’s decision to see how often we run the ball this year…
I was just thinking that. I think Whaley is legitimately high on OU but he is actually wise to not pull the trigger just yet. I think LR will figure out how to utilize multiple backs and put Whaley’s concerns to rest. Think of the way Baylor spreads everyone else out wide and makes huge running lanes for Shock Linwood (or whoever). Mixon and Perine are far more talented that Linwood.
The thing that’s always struck me about Baylor is that as proficient as they are, they virtually never throw to their RB’s. You’d think they’d do that a little more often because they’ve had some good ones at that spot, but I guess when you’ve had the success they do, it’s hard to argue.
The linebackers are closer than 10 yards to the RB – Ends are more open (at least against some teams).
Shhh….dont give them any ideas.
Yeah, it could be that their backs don’t have reliable hands but I have no idea. Perine has pretty good hands and Mixon has great hands.
If I was him, I would most definitely wait and see what our offense Looks like before committing. Although we are all fairly confident LR will call plenty of run plays, it’s still an “Air Raid” offense. He’d be wise to make sure we have a balanced attack, which I think we will, so it should help our chances like you said.
Just out of curiosity, and mainly since my more in-depth knowledge of OU doesn’t really start until around 2008-ish, wasn’t OU still running an air-raid style offense when AD was around and then later when Murray and Brown were both over 1,000 yards on the season? Doesn’t seem to me that the air raid system does OU’s running backs any disservice. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but last year’s ECU team had Carden with something like 3000 yards, and their RB had over 1,000 yards as well. LR seems to know how to utilize his best players, and has had a pretty even run/pass ratio when he had a serviceable back, a la last year’s Pirates team.
I think LR is smart enough to use every tool in the shed especially when two of them are Mighty Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine.
Hopefully its more like a Smash Raid!
I like Assault
Air Ground Assault works for me.
When AD was around, we shifted to a more run heavy offense. Passing game was still air raid-esque though.
Idk. When I hear “Air Raid” i think of Texas Tech throwing the ball 70 times a game lol and I know we have definitely never been that type of offense. And I don’t think we will be that type of offense going forward. But to answer your question, I would say no we were not an air raid offense back then, especially when we had AD. We ran plenty of under center formations with a variety of fullbacks and TE’s. In the Bradford years we did transition to more of a spread, pass happy attack. But we also still ran some heavy sets.
East Carolina struggled a bit in the red zone, which is common in spreads. Obviously because you run out of real estate, but also because so much time is devoted to running routes that the run block practice & technique can get short-changed. I don’t think that will be the case with maestro BB in charge of the OL. This should be an effective RZ and short yardage offense.
I just hope we aren’t afraid to load that line up, get under center, and run our 240 pound monster of a RB right up the middle for 6 sometimes. Or sneak the QB.
Damn straight. I got so frustrated watching last year’s team look to the sidelines on short yardage, use up the clock, and then get a play off so late that the defense could even anticipate the snap. Line up quickly, blow them off the ball, and power though it.
I hear ya man. I loved the Bell Dozer package. I hope we have some type of heavy set for the goal line. I hated how last year we ran the pistol on goal line situations. I’d like to see Baker under center, with Perine, Flowers, maybe even Mixon. Multiple TEs in there as well. Have the defense wondering who the ball may go to. I feel like too many teams don’t have a formation/set of plays specifically for goal line situations. That’s ignorant to me
This is not a football tweet, but my son, like many of yours, is in the service. Loved this quote.
https://twitter.com/Ranger_Up/status/540743290379714560
That’s very ‘cool’ Rick, I know your proud of your son and that’s quite an honor for Dakota.
Semper Fi, what service is your son in?
Thank you for your service to our nation.
I wouldn’t mess with that dude.
Ready for some dang football!!!! Ready to see Bob and Mike make big turnarounds this year!
I live right by Southlake so I guess I’ll have to go check out Eboh and his Dragons one Friday night and see what he’s all about. Also, I think I saw Nila when I was at the Trinity v De La Salle game on Saturday. That or it was a different giant Tongan man with long hair, shaking multiple people’s hands lol idk. Was wondering if anyone could confirm his presence at that game.
I might have missed it on here but I see that Ryan Broyles was released by the Lions.
I hope that you finally end up on a team that actually realizes what a great talent you are.
Best of luck.
Im hoping maybe Philly.
Its killing me. Im a BIG time NY Giants fan. Theres not a team that I dislike more than the Eagles but all of my Sooners are ending up there. ugh
Thats the main reason I don’t enjoy the “Pros” as much as I used to. Back in the day, you could identify a team with it’s players usually throughout a career. I’m sure the situation is much better for the players, but I miss the days of Marino at Miami, Aikman at Dallas, etc. I generally just follow OUr players now. Today its Philly.
Same same. Hardly watch nfl at all other than a pre-season football fix and playoffs. Free agency was the right way to go but it killed that ‘loyalty’ factor for players and teams alike.
It has obviously killed it for some of us as fans also.
I’m finding, over the last few yrs, that if there has been a great, dramatic sat of cfb, watching pro on sun is boring unless it’s a big matchup
I’m the same way. The only team that I truly care about is OU. Last year I liked Dallas because of Murray. This year it’s Philly for obvious reasons. I won’t even watch football on Sunday after a loss.
Looks like you’ll be watching a lot of NFL on Sundays this year!
Same here. There are some teams that I just do not like and it has a lot to do with how they treat players. I understand it is a business and there are some difficult decisions for coaches. However, there are some coaches that just make my skin crawl (Seattle, I considered not watching the SB, only because they were in it).
As a Cowboys’ fan, I’ve been feeling that pain since Bradford was traded, and then they went and got Murray. Oh, the humanity. I have despised the Eagles forever, and now have to actually hope they play well. It still doesn’t feel right, but I’m doing it.
I hate the Eagles, and it is going to kill me to root for them this year. But I would love to see Broyles end up with the Chiefs. They need a WR to accompany Maclin!
Second that! KC has been thin at WR for a longgg time.
Andy Reids offense takes some time to learn. WR’s asked to learn the full route tree for all the WR positions. Chiefs fan 🙂
I think Broyles should go to Philly if offered.I think he fits. Chip is a good coach and Sam is going to have a great season.
Philadelphia Crimson Eagles??
used to be the chicago sooners
True. I just think that Chiefs really need another WR. Heck even the Packers could use another one. LOL! Anything but Philly. 😎

Class Act!!!!!!!!
And frugal.
Greenbay has a few needs at receiver.
Unfortunately, true. Would love seeing Broyles in green and gold.
as would I.
Good fit. You don’t need great speed to catch Aaron Rodgers, just great hands. Ryan still has those.
classy exit……when he decides to hang it up would probably make a great rec coach
May God continue to bless our TRB and his young family.
That, for those of you who’ve never had to leave a job, is the way it is done. Whatever frustration you might have, keep it positive. Life is long, you never know when negativity might come back to bite you.
Well done Mr. Broyles.
Come to Green Bay!!!
Chatted with him this morning. He’s excited about what the future will bring 🙂
Really hope he lands in a good place that can use his skillset. I like to see good people do well, and Ryan is definitely one of the good ones.
Hortons Hudl is pretty explosive
can we get a list of visitors for this weekend started?
Saw this posted on the weekend’s OP but does anyone know the score for the De La Salle game?
26 to 21 i think trinity
Thanx!
Been talked about a few times, but the 2 deep at OL, for all intents and purposes, has been set. This is the travelling squad Brown, Alvarez, Darlington, Kasitati, St.John, Farniok, Danley,Dalton,Samia.
Anyone know about how many snaps our backups played last year on the offensive line? I would imagine it will be a bit more this year will us snapping the ball 90 times a game.
Not sure, its seem like they had a really consistent rotation going, especially at the guard spot. I assume there will be alot more rotation this year. But OL is just like any other position, you need to get into a rhythm and feel for the game when playing, so it will be interesting to see how long it will take B to start rotating guys out.
The guards had a pretty constant rotation last year between Savage, Shead and Kasitati. I imagine that will continue this year across the line.
Does that mean Danley is backing up both Guard spots?
Alvarez is pulling double duty at guard and center.
I cannot wait for Saturday to get here. I’m stoked! I’ll post my “spoil my granddaughter” picture. Took her to a fair last year and she loved these pillow buddies. Of course Grandpa is not going to refuse buying her the OU one, which she would not let go of.
it’s GAME WEEK! There’s a light at the end, I can see it. No more scouring holakyle’s channel for old games, high school highlights of Mixon, or closet-watching ECU highlights digging for clues for what this O will look like. On Saturday my eyes will behold a real live sooner football game. Thank you Footballbrainiacs for guiding us through the desert!
Last year I had a beer everytime Sweet Perine ran over a defender. I’m trying to cut down on my consumption (yeah, I know, kind of a dumb idea to begin with) so this season I’m only going to have a beer when he runs over TWO defenders in one play. That’s still good for a 12-pack, I figure.
I just take a sip for each defender that bounces off of him. Not the whole beer. I wouldn’t last the first qtr. 🙂
So…you’re saying one doesn’t HAVE to drink the entire beer each time? Well, that’s something to think about it. I love learning new ideas.
Very first thought when I woke up this morning. Game Week! Finally!
A couple notes from the mini scrimmage last week. We run ALOT of 3-4, TK ripped off a 20-30 yarder off a read option, he’s pretty dang fast, and Overton is very good at the NT spot, has a very quick first step and gets really good penetration.
Yeah, uh I’ve seen Shep tear up D’s in actual games. I’ll keep my butt on his wagon.
I bet Shep is holding back until game time. Probably being careful not to injure of reinjure anything
Knight is one of best athletes on the team. Wish CT was ready to be the backup and move KT to a different position to utilize his athletic abilities. Free Safety or WR.
Thanks KJ! I think the 3-4 holds the appearance of a 3-4 but it’s a 4 man single gap alignment from what I understand. It’s semantics but an important distinction in that there will be guys playing different and multiple techniques
Anytime K! They were mostly in an odd front during the scrimmage, but they moved the backers around alot, and sometimes walked the OLBs up to give a 5-2 look at times, and even a 4-4 type look on occasion. So it looks like they are really being creative with the LB alignments, but still keeping that odd front. It could be they like the play and penetration that they get out of the odd than the even. It’ll be interesting to see how much they show on Sat. I would think that they would be ultra conservative for the first game.
Great line out of the press conference show on FSSW. They are calling the new Offense, the “Crimson Storm” instead of air raid, because of the run game in addition to the pass attack.
Me likey.
O000h, I like it…“where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain…”
I see a crimson colored tornado brewing on the plains.
…

The only thing they fear on earth is the Tasmanian She-Devil, remember? She has rollers in her hair and a rolling pin in her hand that she beats him with! LOL
True, and she rides the Schooner. LOL!
Here comes the Crimson Storm, that is what the players and coaches are calling our new offense…. Not that it takes much, but it has me hyped! Come on Saturday!
I hope it’s nothing similar to when my wife gets the “Crimson Storm”.
Why did I have to read this while eating lunch? Too cruel.
I like that, kind of.
When we make a big play, you could set off the tornado sirens across Norman.
I might be wrong, but I think Tulsa does something similar to that.
Okay, but I have never gotten why a team 1,000 miles or so from the ocean is a ‘Hurricane’.
You are correct Rainy. Not all over Oklahoma, obviously, but in the stadium they do.
“The Highlight Express”. “Long Bomb Johnson”. “Gone With the Win”. “T. Boone’s Wet Dream”.
“Crimson Storm” I like the sound of it.
Ready for the pump up video already! Let them come out to Rebel Rebel, followed by a classic Hot Rod Lincoln song!
A bit more ominous than Crimson Tide
I saw Detroit released Broyles. Maybe he could land in Phiily.
Congrats to the freshman kicker
Wish someone had asked Stoops who is going to redshirt. Seems like he is going to play everyone by the sound to the presser.
KJ mentioned a few names below he is hearing will redshirt.
It may be on the Presser thread. I seen it somewhere, I think. Hell I don’t know. 🙂
Guys he didn’t mention:
OT B Evans
OG Hearne
OG Cody Ford
OT Mittermeier
WR J Humphrey
DT Lampkin
DT Gallimore
DE Mann
DE Campbell
LB McGinnis
CB Stephens
Wasn’t Mittermeier a JUCO? Is he really redshirting?
Yes and yes.
He has four years to play three. http://www.scout.com/college/oklahoma/story/1554923-quinn-mittermeier-makes-the-ou-call
Mayfield said, “You can’t double Shepard anymore. We’re going to get some one-on-one match ups.”
Game week finally! Lots of games of interest….
Ok fellow Sooners…. Honest question here. How do you cheer when it comes to games involving the rest of the B12, in general and LosuR/Saxet in particular? Do you root for them to win so that OUr victory against them helps the strength of schedule and the CFP Cmte perception of the league. … Or do you hope they get mud hole stomped and embarrassed ?
I lean toward the latter especially with LosuR and their mouth last few years. I know Texas is Texas. Just Kinda used to their crap I guess. Anyway. Kickoff is Thursday. So who do you hope wins. Pokes or Chippewas?
I want all Texas teams to lose every game.
I wish they played doubleheaders so Texas teams could lose two games in one day.
I want OU to win every game.
I want Texas to lose every game.
I don’t care about anybody else.
I hope every day is Monday for the pokes and wHorns…

Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!
LOL!
And stay down.
Yes! (Although if this kid doesn’t get up he’s going to drown.)
DOWN GOES FRA-ZUUUH!
And may their sandwiches be soggy.
And their cellphones destroyed.
Gonna be hard to pick a team when texass plays nd or texass plays osu. Probably will root for the latter in the first instance and the former in the 2nd instance.
You can always root for a power outage to force them to play till two o’clock in the morning just out of spite…
I like where your head is. Add to that, thirty-five degree temperatures and a persistent cold, soaking rain throughout the game.
I have kind of changed my thinking about that. I’m so sick and tired of the favoritism towards the SEC that I now find myself on many ocasisons rooting for all BIg 12 teams to win in order to strengthen the perception of the conference. (With the obvious exception of Texas.) Although I must admit, it’s still kind of fun to watch the Texas teams lose. So I’m torn. However, I really really root for A&M to get beat. Badly. Horribly. 77-0 style. I hope the Sun Devils torch them.
I root for all the Big XII, except the shorthorns. I have always said I am a fan of three teams in college football. The Sooners, and anyone playing ND or the shorthorns!
I’ll go for this!
Now when saxet plays the little green men – I will cheer for a zero-zero tie with 19 fumbles and 12 Ints. It ends in a tie when the game is still being played at 2:00 AM.
LOL! My wife got on me because I said, is it to much to ask for the stadium to implode during the game?
I will half-heartedly root for them in their out-of-conference schedule, and typically root for them to get mud hole stomped and embarrassed by other Big XII teams. Once we beat fexas, the thought of their winning being not such a bad thing enters my head for short periods of time before my nausea overwhelms the more rational calculation.
–Urgent Message–
Moments of acute, uncontrollable excitement have now become involuntary. My Tourette’s-like outbursts of “Boomer!”, “Texas sucks!”, and “Screw you, Mike Gundy!” have forced me to avoid libraries, pregnant ladies, and heart patients. But it’s getting worse. Where is the Sooner doc? Does anyone know how to control the symptoms? I’ve purchased a mouthpiece and a bike helmet, so I’m covered there. But no cat is safe.
In my professional opinion, these outbursts you describe are totally natural and healthy. Any suppression of said outbursts could be detrimental to the health and well-being of yourself and those around you.
Sincerely,
Sooner “Doc”
Whew! That’s a relief. For a minute there I thought I was crazy.
Oh, you are. But you’re crazy about Sooner football and I see no problem with that. Again, this is my professional opinion.
Nice. I like your thinking, my dude.
I’m not a doctor, but my patients think I am. 78% of my patients don’t eat enough apricots. This leads to 100% skin failure. Truth.
Perfectly normal behavior, carry on.

Looks about right..at this point I don’t know what we run on defense bc it changes daily hahahaha
I expect them to run 3 alignments. 4-2-5, 3-4-4, and 2-4-5–removing the NT–on obvious passing downs
yeah I expect a lot of 2-4-5 in with Bond and Striker at olb. Add in OBO in there to relieve one of the two. I think we will have a better pass rush this year. Post a 2-4-5 sooner76 depth chart. I know it takes a lot of work on your part so I appreciate it.

you da man
Thank you, my friend.
I will post similar things showing who played in each game at those positions, including special teams. It gives me something to do during the seemingly interminable commercials.
I really don’t see D Neal as a starter. Mead has height.
That’s what Bob said.
Stoops said Charles Walker to start.
Really, I watched the entire thing and didn’t hear him say that. Interesting.
for any fuzzy ballers/hackers in attendence, my favorite slam, the us open, is cranking up…..men’s 4th seed, nishikori already out
Love the Open. Enjoyed wathcing Jimmy, John, and Lendl banging back in the day.
AND… Ilie Nastase…for color…
yeah, he and connors were a rebel pair………..loved the fire of jc but liked him better after he toned down the court crap as he got older
Jimmy was always my favorite. He was a gladiator. He put the sport on the map, really. And he did it mostly with a crappy $40 racket from your Wal Mart. Wonder what he could have done with today’s atomic powered rackets that are the size of trash can lids. Love watching Federer play today. He’s the Fred Astraire of tennis.
rememnber jc with his metal wilson, hi tech for the time…..gladiator he was…..remember his last run at ny, playing at nite with the crowd in a frenzy……..think I teared up when he finally lost and gave his last on court interview…………fed is an extension of samprass to me, pure class
yeah, having watched the parade of us greats (and foreign) over the yrs, the dismal state of us men’s tennis is sad……..no one in sight I’m aware of……..having said that, hope for some drama under the lights with a rowdy, ny crowd…….nothing better
And yet, the women’s seems very good in contrast. You could make a very strong argument that Williams is the best ever women’s player.
Jimmy vs Bjorn Borg. Awesome tennis.
ah, there’s ‘mcbrat’ and borg, don’t forget…..”you can’t be serious!!!”
Great point. I wasn’t totally trusting my memory that all 3 played at once.
McBrat = pure entertainment!
Borg was my favorite during his time. Was so disappointed when he gave up the game. Loved Connors for the Americans, never liked crybaby Mac. Even now during his senior playing, I know he is playing to the crowd, but just can not watch him.
post playing career, mac has been an outstanding commentator on tv broadcasts for yrs
Fuzzy ballers- there is a joke in there somewhere. 🙂
Just listening to the Tulsa Sports Animal (Al Jerkins, Pat Jones)- Pat Jones mentions, in his assessment of what to look for regarding OU this season, that he thinks the possibility of the Joe Mixon tape surfacing would cause a huge disruption blah, blah, blah… This was his major concern for the Sooners having success this season, not the play on the field. Let it rest. To me, listening to his reasoning, it reeked of a dislike for and of OU.
Then, a little later, a caller called in with a question, asking Pat Jones a hypothetical question- “If” you (Pat Jones) had the tape in your possession, would you leak it to the press? His answer was quite entertaining as he attempted to play it off on the outside chance that he would be counted among those called journalists… that he would probably walk it up the ladder, take it to his editor for them to make the call. HA! Sounded kinda weaselly to me.
I have a pretty good idea that poor excuse of a radio personality would hand deliver it to the nearest news outlet, that’s why he played it off, stating what he’d do “if” he were a journalist.
Pffft… What a joke.
Don’t know who these guys are, but based on what you heard I hope he has a Monday all day long…
https://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/monday-gifs-because-misery-loves-company-14-gifs-7.gif?w=350
Yeah, he’s just following his agenda to perpetuate any distraction that might derail the OU MACHINE.
Now I do.
Could have gone forever without that image. 🙂
Sorry, my bad- this was the most flattering picture I could find of him.
Pat Jones use to be the coach at OSU, I’ve always appreciated his take more than Al’s.
He should have the title “coach” removed from in front of his name…
“Pffft…What a joke.” = The Sports Animal
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone root for someone to fail. They act like they’ve never made a mistake in life.
Pat Jones is a joke. Actually, the Sports Animal for the most part is a joke. It’s not reporting or news, it’s “what can we say that will garner the most attention”, nowadays.
I really hope the pokes lose thur night. I don’t care about them needing to win to make conf look better, our game w them in Nov more important, or any of that. I seriously despise them so much due to the simple fact, I can’t stand their fans. I’ve never seen a smaller group of derelicts troll every OU related story. The level of hatred I have for them is much greater than that for texsa. Which I also despise but at least they’ve won something before.
This^^^^^^ +1000
I guess it’s easier for me since I don’t live in the state anymore. While I find them annoying and I totally get and know where you are coming from. Daily Oklahoman is where they frequently troll and you and I fend them off. But in my eyes, mind and heart, they are so insignificant and predictable. So pity rather than hate comes to mind. It helps that half of them are morons too. 🙂
What’s up bro? Yeah, you are my wingman on newsok. I always can count on you to check the poke trolls. Keep up the good work! Lol.
Interesting stat for Pat Jones. OSU has spent more years on probation for violations that happened on his watch than OSU has won championships since they entered the Big-8.
This made me grin.
Here’s to this entire team playing with a frickin’ chip on their collective shoulder!!
http://i.huffpost.com/gen/1313689/thumbs/o-BEER-CHEERS-facebook.jpg
Yeah, I’ll have some of those.
Heck, I’m even rooting for them with a chip on my shoulder.
Joined Jason Kersey’s Periscope today since he was answering questions, was pleasantly surprised he didn’t shy away from a few of the tougher ones. It was pretty apparent he does not frequent TFB as he couldn’t answer some basic questions about recruits and players on the team like most of you can. I still have a lot of disdain for NewsOK but the Periscope thing was pretty cool.
That is the thing, why have a reporter who cannot answer basic info about the team he is supposed to cover?
True, to be fair it’s players nobody has seen play in a D1 game ever. All I’m saying was he handled it better than Traber would have.
But then, so would a dead feral hog
Haha, so true.
I agree. To actually “cover” a team the guy should know about everything OU. He knows about as much about the Sooners as my 96 yr old Grandmother. One thing he’s consistent with is that he’s always quick to trash the team. His “coverage” is worthless. I’ve forgotten more about OU football than he will ever know. The only reason I go to newsok is because TFB is typically up at 7am. I get up at 5, so read ou related articles there. Just a habit.
Dunno if anyone posted this yet, but austin kendall went 19/22, 355 yards, 5 td, 1 rush td in week 2.
Ill take some college stat lines like that from him lol.
Meh, OU commit… will probably go from top 30 player to ranked #161, because Rivals is so good at what they do. Like how Philly has 3 ex-5 star QB’s sitting behind an ex-3 star QB.
and 2 of them from USC. Look, another highly touted QB in kessler, quick, someone draft him!
True. Since he didn’t commit to an SEC team he plummeted.
Well it was obvious he was going to fall. I think some scouts looked at the fact that he doesn’t want to go somewhere that is taking 2 qbs each year and draw the conclusion that he doesn’t want competition.
I think the reason he dropped was from the fall out of the Elite 11. One of the QB staff teachers is a friend and said he will need some time before he’s college ready. Nothing negative but needs more work on his throwing motion and footwork.
My friend talks about his throwing motion all the time but tebow might be the best college football player of all time and he can’t throw better than half the posters here. So I think Kendall will be fine and he won’t be asked to do near as much as tebow.
Tebow was good, but his cast was some of the best college talent ever assembled.

Did anyone notice the game on dish has it listed for 4 pm instead of 6 pm ? I dont want to order the game with the wrong time.

NICE!
Pretty good hype video.
Cool.
This needs to be played several times a day until G-Day. Thanks for posting.
So depth chart is just sitting in a pile of papers at the sports information office? Where are my tax dollars going?
Trey Millard was also cut.
Someone’s gonna get a hell of a player for real cheap.
The Ryan Broyles, the Packers need you!
I’ll be at Lambeau for the Monday Night Game Sep 28, hoping to see you in green and gold.
Re-watching the Philly / GBay game on NFL channel. Bradford looks so good throwing “dots” all over the place. 🙂

Interesting: Brooks is the third string RB not Ross.
And Bothun over Quick.
Must be showing that speed and learning the play book. He is the fastest guy on the team, right?
We have a starting point, it will be interesting to see how this list changes as the season progresses.
A 6’5 H – back….? Shouldn’t that be like a TE….?
