Open Post | Thursday, Aug. 13th (UPDATE 6:16 pm)

Tyrie Cleveland – I chatted a bit with 2016 WR Tyrie Cleveland (Houston, TX) yesterday, who let me know — as was reported elsewhere yesterday, that Oklahoma will receive one of his five official visits. Cleveland said a date has not yet been finalized, but he is certain that a visit to Norman will happen.

Cleveland is one of the most electric wide receivers in the country. His SPARQ verified height of 6’3″ and laser 40 time of 4.36 gives you more than just a glimpse as to the kind of size and athleticism he possesses.

Earlier this week Brandon noted that 2016 DL Ed Oliver, who happens to be Cleveland’s teammate, has plans to potentially OU as well. Got to think the news coming out this week of both visiting is somehow connected. – (Super K)

Calvin Bundage: Yesterday Alex tweeted out the following:

Bundage didn’t confirm a specific day, but did say that he indeed plans on being in Norman this weekend for a visit. You’ll recall, also, that teammates 2016 OL Tramonda Moore & 2017 DB Justin Broiles is expected in Norman as well. – (Alex, Brandon, & Super K)

Johncarlo Valentin: Yesterday, 2016 OL Johncarlo Valentin (Philadelphia, PA) tweeted out the following:

https://twitter.com/JValentin57/status/631492228616200192

Valentin, you’ll remember, is the offensive linemen we mentioned who is very close to former Sooner and current Redskins OL, Trent Williams. Valentin tells me, however, that he has not yet set a date for his official visit to Oklahoma just yet. – (Super K)

– UPDATE (6:16 pm): 2015 signee Austin Roberts.

    Bundage going to commit?

  • OceanDescender says:

    6’3″ and a 4.36 forty… Lord have mercy.

    • Stephen Dale says:

that type of quality talent generally winds up in the SEC , ACC, or PAC 12…..

      • OceanDescender says:

I’ve got some dudes in mind with just utterly inhuman athleticism that are currently on the OU roster. This isn’t out of the realm of possibility, man.

        • Stephen Dale says:

care to name any of them besides Mixon ?

          • OceanDescender says:

Perine, you stole mixon from me haha, Dahu green, Jordan Evans, mbanasor big fast corner, gallimore, Tay evans I think has very underrated athleticism, and I’ll throw Mark Andrews in there to ice the cake. These are all just my opinion of insanely athletic guys though.

          • paganpink says:

You told him! We have some extraordinary athletes, and even some Eeyore from Florida who belittles OU knows all about record setting Perine. He’s just playing stupid to be a troll.

          • OceanDescender says:

Yeah it’s not hard to see that, even though not all 85 guys OU has are all world athletes, there’s a sizable handful of UBER athletes on the roster. Geez I can’t wait to see them on the field again too!

          • Indy_sooner says:

Funny how he never comes back to defend his claim. Someone talking out the side of his neck when the time’s right

Btw-I’d add Shepard and Jeff Mead in that category.

          • OceanDescender says:

You make a good point in that I probably left off several other “talent in the stratosphere” type guys. Not sure how I forgot Shep though!

          • SoonerMGB56 says:

            Charles Walker……..

  • Jordan Esco says:

You may remember the OK Preps name
    https://twitter.com/OnLyHuMaN143/status/631836885799690241

    • Andy Sundborg says:

Wow. Since he’s only a freshman Im not sure why he brought up graduating though

    • Daryl says:

Jordan do you guys know if this means that he is done with football or is he just done at K state

    • Jason Vos says:

      probably get offered by Tulsa

    • BoomerDave says:

And this was the guy many on here were “screaming” to offer a schollie to!

    • Super K says:

      wow

    • SoonerGoneEast says:

This is much easier to understand than Cecil Cherry’s situation leaving Texas. Best of luck to him.

    • Dustin says:

      Graduating? I’m confused.

      • KJ1123 says:

His message is a little cryptic, but I’m going to guess college football wasn’t what he thought?

        • Dustin says:

In any event, I wish him the best whichever path he chooses.

        • Brad Warren says:

KJ, just curious if you have heard anything about Austin Roberts. I mean it just seems impossible at this point that if he has indeed done all the coursework, that a transcript can’t get processed. Its been 2 weeks now.

          • KJ1123 says:

No I haven’t Brad. I’m sure Drew and Jeeb are working really hard to get him to campus asap. The hangup could be something that’s out of theirs (and OUs) control at the moment.

          • Brad Warren says:

I was just under the impression that he might be able to help on the DL right away but clearly this is making him miss valuable time. Is that the feeling there as well – that he could play early? Since he is a juco.

          • KJ1123 says:

That’s certainly the hope for all the JUCO players that are brought in. However there have been players that have come in from JUCOs and wanted to red shirt their first year. I don’t think that was the case with Austin but it may not be avoidable with the time that he’s missing. We’re already at the halfway mark for camp.

      • SoonerGoneEast says:

He was a Lawton kid just getting started.

  • I was kind of under the impression that we may be looking to take Marvin Terry and Caleb Kelley now…Bundage may be the odd man out. I guess we will see.

  • Jason Vos says:

Calvin Bundage is perfect fit for NB, I would take him in a heart beat. He is the perfect LB/S hybrid for our 4-2-5 defense.

    • EasTex says:

I am not a Bundage fan.
It’s his demeanor and flat affect, not his football skills, that trouble me.

      • Indy_sooner says:

        Elaborate

          • MrBigsby says:

Still trying to find the problem?

          • EasTex says:

He troubles me, but no biggie.

          • Boom says:

It bothered me too but he’s a kid and I think with all the momentum we have, he got real focused on his choices. I bet if they did that interview after a visit at OU, it would be different or at least I hope so.

          • EasTex says:

It is more than that to me. He comes across as dull and flat to me. I’ve hired and fired hundreds over the years and he wouldn’t get a second interview with me.
Compare his demeanor with so many current Sooners who express themselves thoughtfully and with energy. Jeffrey Mead is an excellent example, so is Striker/Darlington/……

          • Boom says:

Makes sense. I’ve coached kids who would barley say a word but got on the field and the transformation took over. Not sure of his background so I guess I will watch it unfold.

          • EasTex says:

To reiterate, that is just my opinion. I don’t know the young man and wish him the very best. I also trust the coaches to perform their due diligence and if they want him that’s all I need to know.

          • Boom says:

I will say our momentum has caught some recruits off guard and they are reassessing their choices. I like it.

          • Stephen Dale says:

mu question about Bundage is his college position : SS /FS/ OLB ??? some have questioned his instincts to play a safety as well as his ability to bulk up to OLB……what do you guys think as to whether OU coaches will wait on Kelly or take Bundage if he wants to commit now ??

          • Boom says:

            Both.

          • Ed Cotter says:

Good question Stephen Dale…..I believe OU is in it for the long haul with Kelly. Should Bundage commit to OU, which I seriously doubt, OU would save a spot for Kelly. Bundage has stated that he will wait to commit until NSD and take his official visits. I am not sure if OU would even accept his commitment at this point, especially with a limited number of spots left (1), in the secondary. Gonna be interesting to see how it plays out.

          • Ed Cotter says:

Totally see what you mean EasTex……He doesn’t seem to exude any excitement. I know he is making a visit this weekend, but in his interview that you linked, he mentions OSU as a school he is interested in, but not OU. I would not be surprised if he ended up cancelling for this weekend, but we’ll see.

          • Indy_sooner says:

In all fairness, there’s not many out there as polished as Darlington or Mead at that age. I don’t normally spend time listening to college kids but happen to have heard the former speak for 20-30 mins. He is quite engaging, one of those born speakers. Its not hard to see why he makes the first round in media days. Otherwise, I agree with your sentiments

      • Dustin says:

I’m with ya. There’s definitely something off-putting about the kid. Maybe it’s just us. I dunno.

      • KJ1123 says:

I’d take Kelly any day over him.

      • BoomerDave says:

        Tend to agree with you.

  • Mr. Jones says:

Is the offer committable for Bundage? They are done at safety and only have one LB spot left (holding for Kelly).

  • Randy says:

Cleveland imo is the biggest recruit need in ’16. Not only what he can do on the field (and immediately) but what as a person he seems to be like just from reading and watching interviews and yes his Twitter feed. Not to mention the pull a ELECTRIC kind of football player he is and could help bring in a program that is trying to establish a new Brand / Identity ! All that said its still going to be hard to get him from his original home state of Florida, in state uber team right now in TCU, ASU where is current QB is committed, and a SEC school in Ole Miss that is becoming WRU…

    • Brian says:

A&M appears to be the biggest threat with Cleveland.

      • Randy says:

Could be, but he decommitted from there a couple of months ago. And didn’t include in his visits so could take it either way. Doesn’t need to visit, or doesn’t want to visit.

        • Stephen Dale says:

he knows everything possible about aTm ….will use his visits to compare the others to aTm……

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

As far as I can tell, Tm is back to being what they were in the Big 12 middle of the pack in the SEC. Aside from one year with Johnny football the only thing they have going is the fact that they negotiated a nice deal to join the SEC whose star is fading. Good freaking luck winning recruits when you choose Tm over OU.

    • Fear The Magic says:

I like our young WRs but with Shep and DeDe (most likely) leaving after this year we will need at least one dynamic receiver. I think Cleveland is that WR. He, Kelly and Whaley would be very big gets.

      • SoonerfanTU says:

I don’t think DeDe is going anywhere. He is not the type of WR that is going to project high in the NFL draft, no matter how good he is.

        • Drew says:

I disagree, though he’d definitely be able to raise his stock with a second year (though, if he performs well enough this year to be a first round pick, that’s all right with me).

        • Indy_sooner says:

They said the same thing about Kevin White… Let’s see how the season pans out before kicking him to the curb.

          • SoonerfanTU says:

Stop exaggerating. Kick him to the curb? I expect him to be a VERY good WR for OU this year. That doesn’t make him a first round pick though. 6’0, 168# isn’t very big. Like I said, he isn’t a prototypical NFL WR. Not saying he can’t make it, but even with a really good year, I’d expect in order for him to be a 1st round pick, the NFL people would want to see a second good year at OU. Kevin White is 6’3, 215#. Not sure where that comparison came from.

I will say that next year doesn’t appear to be a really deep class of potential NFL receivers, but there are a few that probably go before Westbrook based on measurables alone.

          • Indy_sooner says:

Exaggerating? Dude was the #1 JUCO receiver last year and you wrote off his chances of a high draft pick before he had played an actual game for OU based purely off stats man. I picked Kev White because he was a JUCO, but a more valid comparison is Percy Harvin, drafted in the first round at 5-11 and is 184 lbs NOW, so Dede @ 168lbs is not all that far *IF* his on field production is legit.

BTW- I agree with you in that he needs a solid 2 years though

      • Randy says:

Me too love the guys we have.. Cleveland is just different kind of player one that can make a program for a few years.. (AD, Manziel, Julio Jones, Winston)

    • Boom says:

He’s from Houston and playing for Westfield in Spring.

  • Randy says:

If you haven’t read the short piece on 247 with Gus Malzahn and Kevin Sumlin regarding big time prospects it’s pretty good.

  • Cole says:

Hardman or Cleveland…? Hmmm would thy take two?

  • Greg says:

In looking at JValentin’s list of schools, one of those definitely looks out of place…

  • Cole says:

Also, I won the free subscription to rivals a month back and started looking at the forums and seen that all they do is dog out TFB. Like why? You guys provide all the content they post if not more each and everyday for FREE! I don’t know. Maybe I’m just a brainiac! ?

    • Super K says:

It is peculiar to me that someone paying for a subscription would take shots at guys who provide the information for free. We aren’t asking anyone for anything. It’s even more peculiar when you consider that the co-founder and co-owner of this site was a Sooner great that the University of Oklahoma still makes money off of. It is strange strange strange.

      • Cole says:

I’m just dumbfounded. I would rather have my stuff for free instead of paying if it’s damn near the same content, plus or minus.

        • Super K says:

I think the other sites do a good job and I think it’s great that people want to pay for it. They provide some things we do not. The reader enjoys it and the writers make a living. It’s a win win. I just don’t understand the need to attack us. And now the attacks are just made up stuff. Someone sent me a comment yesterday where a guy actually made up some nonsense up about us reporting that Kendall Thompson was receiving first team reps…that QB battle happened 2 years ago…we didn’t exist at that time. I mean the irony of someone taking a shot out our ability to report good information and this gentleman couldn’t even do a basic online search to verify the veracity of the his own claim.

          • jonnyBgood says:

Insecure folks attack others that threaten them. You guys do things in a different way and have garnered much deserved attention because of both content and layout. Not to go political but it reminds me of Trump and the chord he has struck with the people of this country. He does things his own way and doesn’t “toe the line” the way they’ve been done forever. Certain people don’t like that and see it as threatening. When you start getting attacked it’s pretty much like getting a SNL skit mocking you…you’ve made it! Let the haters hate and keep doing your thing. There are millions of sites to go to and you guys have become one of it not my first stop on the web every single day. Great info. User-friendly layout. Genuine fan interaction with civil banter. Simply put, the best sports site going right now.

          • John Reed says:

Please don’t compare TFB to Trump (or any politician). Sick of people f*#>ing up my sports with their political views. Can I get a BOOMER!?!?

          • BOZsayshello says:

K… You guys do a fantastic job and I for one appreciate it very much!!! I am in a clique, the Brainiac clique!!!

          • Rene Goupillaud says:

Well said. Competition makes everybody better. Enlarge the pie, good for all.

        • KJ1123 says:

Which is why they’ll always try to discredit TFB. I mean, I understand it’s a business, but slinging mud is tacky.

      • Bob Edwards says:

K, as you see here sometimes, there is a group of people out there that simply want to find something to attack. They get in a group and it becomes a mob. Go on YouTube sometime and look at the thumbs up vs thumbs down. If there are a lot there will be at least 5% that are negative no matter what. There are some people that are so miserable they just want to complain about something. Anytime you do something good some of them will complain about you. I guess they think it makes them bigger, if they take someone else down.

      • JD says:

From the beginning to the end buddy

      • SoonerGoneEast says:

When people are spreading rumors about you and they’re not true, somebody feels threatened.

      • Stephen Dale says:

yes it is …….could be your ‘rivals’ are worried ?

      • hemisooner says:

most of those people don’t know $hit about football. All they do is attack people with inside knowledge or any football knowledge. They can’t do evaluations on players like here or breakdown Oline play.

  • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Johncarlo Valentin. Now that’s a fun name.

  • Zack says:

So with the apparent attrition going on at Tennessee is there really still doubt that OU will win that game?

    • Fear The Magic says:

definitely! This game is no gimme by any means.

    • Bob Edwards says:

The history of college football is littered with much bigger upsets than facing a depleted SEC team on the road in front of 100+k people the second game into a change of offense scheme and with a suspect defense. It does improve our chances though.

    • Soonerfandave84 says:

Have to show up and play well for 4 quarters but yeah OU should be the better team

    • Austin says:

Yes. I don’t care how many players Tennessee loses, going to Neyland stadium at late afternoon/night, with 102k fans, and a team looking to prove that they are good enough to compete in the SEC this year isn’t going to be a walk in the park. Not even to mention the changes ou has made on both sides of the ball. I do still believe ou will win though. I say ou wins by 10

    • SoonerfanTU says:

      Yes.

    • SoonerGoneEast says:

Absolutely there’s doubt. I think the difference between winning and losing this game really comes down to our QB. Everyone wants our best QB on the field in game one, whoever that may be, but you have to be concerned with which of the three could best handle the pressure in the second game of the season, a night game, against a solid defensive line in front of 100k+ bloodthirsty fans looking for revenge. Interestingly enough, TK may not be our best QB, but he may give us the best chance to beat Tennessee as he is the only one to have played on a big stage at this point.

I’m not petitioning for TK by any means. I want our best QB behind center, but that may not be the guy who gives us the best chance at Neyland. Just a thought.

      • SCKSChief says:

I’m still petrified of the QB situation. What we saw last year (I know that is the PAST) was truly ghastly.

        • SoonerGoneEast says:

I’m not anymore concerned about the QB’s than I am about the DB’s. I’m comfortable that it’s all in good hands now until I have reason to believe otherwise. That’s not to say any of them will be world beaters this year, I just feel confident that things are trending in the right direction for the first time since the departure of Wilson.

        • Bob Edwards says:

Well the way I look at it is that one of the winningest coaches in college football history analyzed it and decided that it was the fault of the two assistant coaches responsible for the passing game (QB, WR). He replaced them with guys with good reputations in those areas and so we should see some improvement this year and even more next. You should try it. Even if I am wrong you get a month to anticipate something good happening before truth comes and stomps on you.

          • Cush Creekmont says:

Fine point. I completely agree. And if that same winning coach will not micro-manage the game, I expect the assistant coaches and the players to take care of things.

        • Eric Hoffpauir says:

Speaking of the past, last year our “ghastly” QB carved up Tennessee. Our receiving corps should be better this year, too.

      • MoJoOkie says:

TK beat them the last time we played them. Venue makes a difference, but the oddsmakers usually ascribe about three points to that. Coaching may have escalated things down there, but they may have at OU as well.

        • EasTex says:

I also remember the vols playing man and loading the box against the run. We’ll see how they do when they are spread all over the field.

          • MoJoOkie says:

True. I’d hate to try to defend a spread team with Perine in the backfield. The OL will need to step up, but I think Riley will be able to figure out what their D is willing to give up and accept it graciously.

          • EasTex says:

Yes and a LB chasing Mixon on swing passes all night long.
The vols are working on an up tempo offense, so is OU. If it becomes a battle of attrition on both defenses I like OU’s depth and talent over the vols.

          • MoJoOkie says:

Like I said, OL is my only concern. Last year their DL didn’t overpower us and that game was before Perine got going. Spreading them out will negate a good deal of their perceived advantage along the front so that will help. They’ll match up pretty well with team speed, but our D put a LOT of pressure on their QB last year, and I don’t think that should change a great deal even without Phillips.

          • lefty67 says:

If you flush Dobbs from the pocket, he can hurt you (was UT’s 2nd leading rusher despite playing less than half the season) while Worley, as tough as he was, was no threat whatsoever to do so. That kid brings an entirely different dynamic to their offense.

          • MoJoOkie says:

Yeah, Worley was tough as hell. And mobile QBs seem to give the Stoops’ fits (along with just about everybody else). But we brought a lot of heat last year without an inordinate amount of blitzes, so they’ll just have to contain well.

    • Fear The Magic says:

Im beginning to hear that Norths MRI was not as bad as expected and he’ll only be out a week or so. Thats not confirmed but he might very well play.

      • EasTex says:

Good news for him and the vols.
That would remove one less excuse we will have to listen too after the Sooners curb stomp them at their place.

    • Exiled In Ohio says:

And we’re going to kill Clemson because their starting QB was out.

      • soonerthunder says:

BS had fired 3 coaches and had two others they could find another job if they wanted to. They didn’t, so he didn’t embarrass them and fire them, but I’m telling you that you can throw out the Clemson game. Those coaches did not help OU prepare for that game; they were scurrying around trying to find jobs before they filled up. Don’t worry about the Clemson game, although it embarrassed us. Clemson, on the other hand, wanted it badly.

    • rphokc says:

no one’s played a down yet

    • Zack says:

I keep hearing about their WR but is shepherd not going to be the best WR on the field? So if a receiver is the X factor why are we overlooking our own WR?

I’m not too worried about the vols. anything could happen but I think they’re getting to much praise you would think they played in a New Year’s Day bowl.

    • Brad Warren says:

No. Even without the attrition, we will own them.

  • Soonerfandave84 says:

I watched some Ed Oliver highlights…could be Tommie Harris 2.0

    • Super K says:

I saw him play a game last year. He was a human highlight film. I’ve heard people knock is height but I don’t care. That young man is relentless and has the mindset of a football player. I think he’s going to be a very successful college DL in the right system.

      • Soonerfandave84 says:

Me too, I watched him push the center straight back on one play and another weave through traffic with an INT for a TD. Speed, power and agility plus he just seems to know where to be. Sign me up.

      • Cush Creekmont says:

Same knock on a couple of NFL pro-bowlers. If a pass or two gets above his hand, but he decks the QB more than another guy – TAKE him every time!

      • MoJoOkie says:

Stands up a little and goes high on his tackles, all correctable though.

      • KJ1123 says:

Wow this kid is nice. K said something about his height, I mean he doesn’t look tiny. He’s very explosive, quick first step, quick hips, pursues well, solid tackling, has a couple of nice pass rush moves, etc.

      • Thomas Lenard says:

WOW! I’ve not been that exited over a higlight reel in a long time. First Play! flushes QB, QB runs away from him, but he follows the ball, rewarded with a fumble recover he scoops up at the 1 and returns it all the way (had a 4 person escort that misses a would be tackler, but he Juked him and made him wiff)! all the rest of the plays = when he gets you – you are got! I love the way he wraps up and stops their momentum.

      • SoonerGray says:

Holy WOW! That is one of the most impressive highlight films I’ve watched this recruiting season. Explosive, quick feet and strength for days. He would really do well in the Sooner program. Maybe we can convince him to not follow his HS coach to Houston?

      • SavageSoonerEsq says:

What an absolute monster! Please come to OU. Pretty please!

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Here’s to continuing the trend with another Boom this weekend!

  • Rashad See says:

Any word on Austin Roberts….is he still awaiting clearance or should we not expect him in?

  • Mr. Jones says:

“I really want to get out there and get away from Oklahoma. I want to see what these schools have to offer. I have no problem going far from home for college.” – Bundage in a recent interview with an Oregon writer.

Doesn’t seem like OU has any type of advantage with Bundage.

    • Zack says:

I’m ok with that. I’ve heard plenty of people complain about Thomas and Byrd not being safeties. And Evans striker and Alexander not being linebackers. So why bring another guy who’s going to have a similar stigma? Or I guess I should say why are fans excited about this kid when that’s the stigma he’s going to have in 2 or 3 years?

      • Mr. Jones says:

I could seeing him growing into a LB’s true size easier than I seeing him becoming an elite S. But I get what you’re saying. My thoughts are if we get him, cool. If not, that’s fine because there are other prospects at S and LB I like better.

        • Zack says:

Exactly. I want guys that have been groomed for the position they’re projected to play in college.

  • SamSooner says:

Okay, Ed Oliver is a freak. Quick feet, powerful, great vision. The way he handled some of those offensive linemen, I was embarrassed for them.

Did you see his stutter steps when he was lined up in the backfield.

    WOW!

  • RBear says:

So, SIAP but does Frison’s leaving the program free up a scholarship for this (2015) year?

    • ouwooferman says:

Suspension vs leaving the program are not =

      • RBear says:

Semantics really- don’t care “why”- question remains.

        • Malicong says:

The answer was no because he is suspended hence he is still on scholarship. Being suspended is not the same as leaving the program, it is not semantics. Its the difference between being on scholarship and not being on scholarship. I haven’t heard that he is leaving or that anyone wants him to leave. It was doubtful he was going to play much anyway and he can take this season to get things in order. If he doesn’t, it does free up a scholly for 2016.

          • RBear says:

OK, much clearer answer. I was under the impression that if someone were suspended indefinitely, they were “gone”. And, if “gone”, that it would free up a scholarship if in fact they had one to begin with.

So, is OU just SOL (lose the manpower and the scholarship) if this kid never returns to play?

          • ouwooferman says:

If he quits, or is kick off then the place opens up for adding another player. Suspension means he is still with the program, just needs to either get his grades up, do the work etc. If he gets it and takes responsibility and does what he is suppose to do, then he is back active with the team. We saw that with Broyles (can i have some gas for free?)

          • RBear says:

So, the scholarship is “frozen” so to speak.

          • David Luc says:

Maybe you’re overthinking this. As long as Frison holds an active scholarship, that scholarship counts against the 85 limit. That is – whether he is under suspension or not. If his scholly were to be revoked, that would free up one scholarship against the 85 limit. That hasn’t happened. e.g. Mixon was under suspension from the team through last year’s season and only cleared just before this Fall’s training camp, but he held the scholly the entire time.

          • RBear says:

Not overthinking, maybe just not in the know as much as some people- I was under the impression the young man left the program, the school, the state- went home. If that were true, my assumption was that it might free up his scholarship- But, as many have intimated, he’s only been suspended and is apparently still here/enrolled?!

          • Malicong says:

I wouldn’t really say SOL. I look at it as typical turnover. I always expect a handful of guys to not make it for one reason or another. From what I understand there is an expectation for him to be back at some point but based on Stoops track record, he won’t get mulitple second chances.

  • Mr. Jones says:

Does anyone know if Moore has a commitment timeline?

    • Zack says:

He’s going to OU. I have no doubt at this point

      • Boom says:

That would be awesome. Why so confident?

        • Zack says:

I think OU fans are reaching out to him the most on Twitter and he seems favorable to those tweets. I don’t think Alabama is going to be patient with him which IMO is the only school besides osu that I think can get him away from Norman.

      • BoomerDave says:

Wonder how much pressure, if any, he is getting from his HS coach to go to OSU?

        • Zack says:

Who knows. His coach is rashaun woods which I had to look up because I thought a former osu player was the John Marshall coach.

      • Lane Gilstrap says:

His cousin went to OSWho as well.

      • Mr. Jones says:

I hope you’re right, but I’m curious what makes you so confident?

  • Zack says:

Does anyone else get tired of hearing how great a coach bill Snyder is?

To me if he’s so great why didn’t he take a job where the expectations were championship or bust?

  • Boom says:

TFB, have some pride and put an update to your open post. It’s not complete. : )

  • Brad Warren says:

Clearly Robert’s is getting the run around. That makes no sense at this point. If he in fact has done the required coursework. I wrote off Dalton Wood and bam he shows up.

  • John Reed says:

Listened to some sports radio on 95.3 tonight with Bo Mattingly. Reaffirmed my belief that Razorback fans are the most delusional fans in all of college football. When talking about the big 12, said that it came from the big 8 and didn’t have much of a history.(?!?!) Said Oklahoma went soft when it went to the air raid. Said Arkansas had the best running back duo in college football. Felt like I was in a bizarro world episode of superfriends.

    • Randy says:

I heard that too.. Bielema has them believing they will compete which they probably will. Still someone has to finish last in the SEC West though.

      • John Reed says:

I think that Bielema has them going in the right direction, and they will be a good team this year. I believe they have a shot at winning the west, but I would never let my hog buddies know that because they don’t know how to handle expectations. It blows my mind how they have no grasp of history and can’t seem to remember anything before they made their entrance into the SEC (or their failure to do anything significant since joining it).

        • cpearc00 says:

I went to college in Arkansas and have the exact same sentiment towards Hog fans. Made some great friends while there but I’ve never met more delusional fans. I actually had to defend that Peterson was a better rb than McFadden on a daily basis.

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Very frustrating. Had 1st and goal with only 5 seconds left in 1st half settled for FG. Had the ball twice in TCU territory with 6 mins left and didn’t even get FGS. Our defense couldn’t stop them enough. We have better personal than they do. I expect a victory in Norman. Thinking we’ll go 11-1.

I totally appreciate your heart in re-living through this misery. Here is to us setting the record straight with a win against TCU this year!
