Bryce Youngquist: If you saw this tweet last night, you already know that I teased a bit of potentially good news for the Sooners. And given the subject title here, you certainly don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out it’s related to recent OU visitor and ultra-athetic 2016 LB, Bryce Youngquist.
I know everything that has been said regarding Youngquist’s recruitment.
I know Oregon is the prevailing, perhaps even overwhelming, favorite to land him.
Having said all that, I will simply say that as of right now I feel good about OU’s chances on Friday when Youngquist announces his commitment around 6:00 pm (CST) at his high school.
Whomever Youngquist picks this Friday is going to be getting a player with an immense amount of talent and athleticism. If OU lands Youngquist, he will be, in my estimation, the most athletic and polished linebacker Oklahoma has received a commitment from in years. Below are some thoughts on Youngquist as a player that I posted on TFB last month. – (Super K)
Youngquist is exactly what the Sooners need on defense. He’s comfortable in space, between the tackles, and/or coming off the edge. He plays with great pad level, but doesn’t appear mechanical. He has good length, excellent downhill acceleration, and change of direction. But also looks like he could play a ‘Tampa 2′ technique if you asked him to. Really appears to be an excellent linebacker prospect that could play in multiple schemes, but in my opinion looks tailor-made for a 4-2-5. Perhaps my favorite aspect of his game is his patience. When he makes his read, he can slip through the trash and close quickly.
This is the type of athlete Oklahoma really needs to start bringing in again at the linebacker position, especially in a league like the Big 12 where so much is asked of that particular position. One thing you don’t always see is testing numbers that actually translate to the field or vice versa. In the case of Youngquist, however, he plays fast but also has the numbers and measurables behind that. His SPARQ verified height and weight are 6’2″ (without shoes) 210 pounds. He ran a blazing 4.54 SPARQ verified laser 40 and posted a verified shuttle of 4.09, along with a 38 inch vertical. I cannot begin to tell you how incredible those numbers are for a young man just out of his junior year.
– Audie Omotosho: Yesterday, 2016 WR and OU offer Audio Omotosho made his way up from Plano, TX to Oklahoma. His plan was to drive up to Stillwater to visit OSU and then visit OU on the way back home. He did make it to Stillwater, but I received a text from him last night saying traffic unfortunately prevented him from actually making it to Norman.
But the good news is he did say that he plans on rescheduling the visit as he’s had an interest in getting up to Norman ever since the Sooners offered. – (Super K)
– UPDATE (10:15 am):
#Sooners open at No. 19 in Coaches Poll. One of only three #Big12 teams ranked (TCU @ No. 2 & Baylor @ No. 4) http://t.co/XttfvkChn6
— Jordan Esco (@Jordan_Esco) July 30, 2015
– UPDATE (1:21 pm): As we alluded to earlier today on Twitter, OU has picked up a commitment from 2016 DB & longtime OU offer, Chanse Sylvie.
Nothing wrong with a double BOOM, right?
– UPDATE (4:53 pm): Sooners go back to the east coast for latest offer to 2017 LB Justin Foster (6’3″ 225 – Shelby, NC).

Lol. That was the gif in my head!
Are you getting Denzel warmed up?
Denzel is always at the ready. No warming up necessary 🙂
I can appreciate that K, but I refuse to believe. We have been burned too many times. I cannot express how wrong I hope I am though.
I completely understand haha. It’s recruiting…anything can happen. But OU could sure use this one and if it goes the way I think it will…it’ll be a homerun.
Absolutely could use him. He’s a player and would be a great boost in recruiting for us. I want to believe it, I just don’t think I can bring myself to right now. I hope I’m very wrong.
Would I be correct in saying you’re not a highly sought after motivational speaker?
OK… I’m feeling like Bam… I want to believe but don’t want to set myself up for another letdown… but that was funny what you said right there.
I applied to admission to the Optimist Club… but I don’t think their going to accept me.
ISWYDT
I. Want.To. Believe… It would be a huge coup for Kish
I DO believe.
I thought this about Deberry, but also about countless recruits that we just missed out on.
The longer his recruitment went on, the more it seemed like we were a real player, if not the leader. As it turns out we were. With Youngquist, Oregon has been the leader, and it almost seems like he went on visits as validation. I hope that his visit made him fall in love with OU. The right OU. We need him and we need guys like him.
OU will continue to get burned “too many times” for you. It’s called recruiting. I guess whoever wanted DeBerry got “burned again!” It happens to every single school. Some people need to not follow recruiting.
So simply stated, yet so prophetic. Obviously in the case of every single recruit, one school always feels “burned.”
“Some people need to not follow recruiting”….or start typing. Some should just keep their feelings to themselves. The “man, we’re gonna suck, our conference sucks, our recruiting sucks, our coaches suck and our players suck but I can’t wait to be proven wrong” crowd needs to shut their lips and learn
Did I say anything about anyone sucking? I said it specifically with this kid and this situation. I’m not confident. And nothing through the past two years in LB recruiting should lead anyone up be confident. If Gundy, or hell even Riley at this point, were lead on him, I’d feel a lot differently. If you want to insinuate that’s doom and gloom that’s fine. as soon as Kish shows he can land the big guys. I’ll change my tune with LB recruiting. I hope Youngquist starts that.
Just lumping you in with all the other empty glassers. We get to sit back and “enjoy” reading what y’all have to say and the ol’ standby “can’t wait to be proven wrong” ensues when indeed you get proven wrong. It doesn’t take very much intellect to be negative and toot your horn if you’re right and give the company line when you’re wrong
I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow at 6. This is great news. Please let this come to fruition!
YUGE
Donald, is that you?!
Negative
Hopefully your right!
Optimistic grain of salt.
Our LB Class could end up being salty if we can pull Youngquist tomorrow. Between Youngquist, Caleb Kelly, Marvin Terry, John Michael Terry and Calvin Bundrage.
*Bundage
If my intuition is correct, K knows something but is sworn to secrecy:)
K, Youngquist’s HS film reminds me a lot of Rocky Calmus. Fast, ball hawk, and aggressive at read. See any resemblance in that or am I just wishful thinking?
I hope you’re right K. The LB core might be as deep they have ever been in Stoops tenure.
Fwiw I’m not saying they’ll be as good as the Marshall, Calmus crew but could be
Bryce Youngquist a Sooner. Sounds good, but I’m not a believer. Somehow it will get the Kish of Death.
Traffic? Yeah, right!
I thought the same thing. laughable.
Youngquist and possibly Kelly in the 2016 class would be absolutely killer. That would be something special.
The anti-OU media (read Trotter and the little troll David “Uberman” here), with their gushing all over TCU-Baylor and are failure to land the biggest names in most cases has me thinking fool’s gold about even what TFB think about recruiting. But if we get this kid…it’ll be a boom heard around the world.
Absolutely. I’m the same way you are about Trotter and Ubben. I can’t stand Ubben, something bad must have happened to him when he worked at one of the local papers that he just hates OU now. I’m hoping for the best, but planning for the worst in this situation. Even if Youngquist does commit to Oregon, if we can get Kelly along with Terry and Jackson that’s still pretty solid, but we shall see.
Oklahoma is prob 75% OU and 25% OSU..(prob generous for the pokes there)…and I can’t, for the life of me, understand why the states biggest newspaper(s) write so much negative crap about OU…I for one don’t read either one of them anymore
My opinion is they do it to sell newspapers. I think its just a ploy to get more circulation on slow days. I don’t read any of them anymore.
I stopped reading Hoover, Trotsky, and Gary Coleman. It’s quite simple really.
Oh, man I hope you’re right, K!
Super K, will you give us insight tomorrow after the announcement on why you felt this way today?
Does anybody have any info on Courtney Garnett? Just haven’t heard much of anything about how he is coming along. Super K, if you’re doing a DT breakdown later, great, but in the meantime if anybody has heard anything…..thanks
Sounds great, K! But if it doesn’t happen, could you create a “The Sky is Falling” post for my doom and gloom friends to go to, so the rest of us don’t have to listen to it?
Agree that the sky isn’t falling, but one day the flood did come.
This guy could be a perfect fit at OU. Either way, he seems to have addressed the process of choosing a school in a very level-headed, no BS way. Best wishes to him, whatever his decision.
Something’s off with Omotosho not making it to Norman…seemed like it was never fully in the plans. He tweeted the night before about OSU and made no mention of OU…maybe the golf tournament a lot of the coaches were playing in prevented the timing from working out. It just seemed like the purpose of the trip was to go to Stillwater and maybe Norman could happen.
So write youngquist down in pen for OU or pencil?
I’m going with crimson Hi-Liter
Blood!
Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.
I’m going with an etch a sketch so if he quacks we can just shake it off.
Black sharpie baby!
Stephen Dale said to use invisible ink!
Im going to go out on a limb and say TFB wouldn’t confidently speculate in an open post UNLESS they’ve been told point blank. I think last year another Cali kid was reported as a heavy UCLA lean by everyone, not knowing that the kid had secretly committed to OU 3 weeks prior. Bryce would be an awesome get. But I really want OU to land Kelly, just think the kid is a stud with great leadership qualities. Both of course would be like Christmas.
Waking up to news like this gets me so hype! I don’t even need coffee haha.

https://twitter.com/EricBaileyTW/status/626772528120340480
well I would think the good news here is that OU is finally not over rated to start the season…? It actually seems like a fair ranking to me, we have a lot to prove IMO. I think we finish the season in the top 10 and prob a 3-way tie for 1st in b12.
In other words, one of three “One True Champions”
“One (of 3) True Champions” … lol
No. 19 might even be overrated to be honest. But I understand (and very much agree with) your point.
And your ranking of OU is…
Probably not far off that. 20-25 range.
Except for maybe Georgia Tech being ahead, I think they ranked OU correctly.
K – anything new with Amani Bledsoe?
Hey K could you post your tweet for us non tweeters!
this one?
https://twitter.com/TheFbBrainiacs/status/626550645965787136
Yes thanks I finally got the link above to work but I appreciate you posting it again thanks
no prob
lol TCU #2 Baylor #4.
Welcome to the bizarro world.
Did not expect to see two Big XII teams in the top 4.
A BOOM?
Assuming we stick with our defense we are playing now what position does Youngquist play? The same position as Striker or is he more in the Jordan Evans role?
https://twitter.com/TheFbBrainiacs/status/626778936530210816
Please tell me that its Derrick Strait and he found an extra 2 years of eligibility!
I would settle with 1 year, I’m just sayin. :0
Oh Hell Id just settle for the Baylor game.
I will second the motion, do we have a third to bring it to a vote.
Bring on the vote!
All those in favor?
AYE
Well there you have it the AYE take it by a vote of three to two. Somebody let Stoops know.
Aye
AYE!
Obi Eboh or Robert Barnes would be my guess.
It’s a great day to be a SOONER!!! And IMO, The milk has not spilled yet on Youngquist .
Man if we had a LB corps of DeBerry, McGinnis, Youngquist, and Kelly………
Back to a dominant D.
I see that Oregon already has commits from 2 OLBs. Wonder if that’s a factor.
They actually have 3 committed. They’re counting one of their safety commits (6’3 210lbs) as a LB. Supposedly Oregon has room for 1 more.
BOOOOM!!!
Not till Denzel confirms it.
It’s pretty much confirmed. Denzel just needs the ice it.
I’m thinking it is Sylvie. Coach Warren tweeted about the commitment and made a CB prediction for OU.
If so I would say finally. Sylvie seemed so close like 4 months ago
I was leaning this way as well. Hopefully we get a name soon.
But I just looked at his Twitter and he seems like an osu lean.
I wish SOMEONE would confirm the BOOOOM, so I could go to the bathroom in peace!
It might honestly be be safer going to the bathroom first. Excitement does a lot of things to you.
Go ahead and go. We’ll wait.
Youd go to the bathroom, Id go to the fridge for a celebratory 6 pack….which of course would mean me going to the bathroom shortly thereafter.
This guy has it down.
Especially if it’s Oklahoma water piss.
Coop DNR
Now your talking, I am a beer coinsure so we need more than one kind.
Just had DNR for the first time last weekend. Solid choice.
A guy on 247 has predicted Youngquist to OU this week and a certain db to OU this morning. I won’t say out of respect for the young man if he is the one who committed…
I just blame my lack of productivity at work on TFB. I seriously refresh every five to ten minutes. Perhaps, you guys could offer some type of counseling for addicts.
Can we do a group session?
I definitely think it’s going to have to be a team effort
Where should we have the meetings, I mean there are a lot of different people from a lot of different places. Any suggestions?
I vote Fuzzy’s on campus corner so we can cheers when we hear the boom
Never too early for a margarita.
If you’re in a college town, it’s always after 5, right? That’s what I’ve been told
Fishbowl.
We would have to do groups online. Skype maybe. Eastex could be the lead counselor.
Has to be Eastex, Most respected guy on here.
Without question. He is definitely a calming presence. Don’t undersell yourself. You are counseling worthy as well.
I just try and let everyone know that it is great to be a SOONER fan no matter what happens.:)
And you do it so well.
I tell ya this week has been awesome for me everyday the stars have aligned and things I have been needing to get done are finished. Have to ask, does this mean your daughter is doing better? And also we have one vote for you and one vote for bob.
Glad to hear your week is going well.
Mine has been hectic, irrespective of my daughter’s health issues, which are better.
It seems that sesame oil and I don’t agree. Was busy yesterday and the “green apple quick steps” were most unwelcome.
Was you fryin “TOTS” again?
No, sesame chicken.
/never again
You know sesame oil has a laxative effect when used in excess. Afraid you set yourself up for failure here my friend. Lol.
In this instance, an excessive laxative effect was achieved with a small amount of sesame oil.
Can’t be true, I vote for Bob Edwards. Where is he anyway?
I’m here. Been taking a break. The troll to info ratio has been getting high and I thought I would take a breather till camp started. But if there are some booms to calm the nervous nellies I might be a little more active. Also had a brother-in-law die sudden, been dealing with that since I got off.
Good to see you again, you’ve been missed.
Sure sorry to hear about your BIL. Sincere condolences to your loved ones.
I appreciate that. As much as some here want to deny it, there are other things more important than football.
Preacher to the choir.
One of my daughters has been in the hospital for 11 days and will be until at least next Monday.
The really good news is OU camp begins next week.
Sorry to hear about your daughter. Yep camp will at least produce new info to discuss. Hopefully, it won’t be 200 choruses of “Oh, Don’t Our Quarterbacks Sucketh.
Thanks. We are hopeful this event will yield long term results.
I will deal with the gloom as it occurs and may or may not reply. I am really getting tired of the Kish bashing, he is the ILB coach and the backers really like him.
I am expecting the Sooners to compete with anybody this year.
Sorry to hear about your loss BE.
Condolences to you and your family.
Sorry to hear. May God bring peace and comfort to you and your family
Thanks Jim
Sorry to hear, prayers for you and your family in a time of sorrow.
Hi, my name is Brad and I’m addicted to TFB.
Hello,Brad
And trust me, I know all about addiction so definitely not making light of it.
…and It’s been 10 seconds since my last refresh.
Between the comments, stories and the links on Sooner News Daily, I haven’t even started work yet. I’m just trying to get this all read before lunch time!
five or ten minutes? Im like every 30 seconds! where do you get that kind of self control???
Lmao. Me too, especially with impending Booms!
I’m not an addict… I could quit any time I want to. I just don’t want to.
That’s called justifying your addiction. Lol.
No, no I’m not. I’m not justifying. And no, no, NO, I am not now, nor have I ever been, in denial!
dude who the freak is the “boom” #SOONERNATION we deserve some great news today
This is comical! Reminds me of this……
I don’t see anything?
Odd, it shows on mine…. It’s a shark feeding frenzy… Ha
Refreshed it’s there.
Ok Im too lazy to go down the list but Im giving everyone in this conversation a mental upvote. Funny stuff.
This could be a great week: a silent commit from Whaley(?), a commit from Youngquist, a commit from a DB as yet unnamed. We haven’t had this much excitement since NSD.
It’s always a great day when your a SOONER fan. :0
Hey, we opened the 2000 season ranked #19… Just sayin’.
20th wasn’t it?
Yes.
19th:
http://collegepollarchive.com/football/ap/seasons.cfm?appollid=840#.VbpU4PmrF5c
We were 19th in the AP Poll, 20th in the coaches.
That was an incredible season. Just because we came out of nowhere. I worked for Dell in Round Rock at the time so imagine how enjoyable that was for me. My wallpaper on my work pc was the Cotton Bowl scoreboard. 63-14. Most of my co-workers were ut grads. I was very popular amongst my peers. Lol.
Ticks me off that people talk about the Big 12 being “down”
right now and a terrible conference just because OU and Texas aren’t at the top
of their game. I think the fact that two teams who were bottom-feeders are now
at the top of the conference speaks to the strength of the conference. Not to
mention OK State having finally developed into a legit contender in the past 5
years. I think the Big 12 is as competitive as any conference in the country
right now with 2 really good teams that could play with anybody at the top.
I’ll be right back fellas, I’ll flip over to BR and get the low down! (Insert sarcasm here)
well bringth thy boom my good sir denzel of holly
“Hearing word that OU just got a BOOM from a heck of a DB!”
Find out who it is…………….after the break.
I’ll just leave this here…(refresh for picture)
OK just to clarify: We have a very possible DB Boom. Another possible big boom (coughyoungquistcough) tomorrow. We have a bunch of guys drinking beers and or margaritas. We also have a few guys in desperate need to go to the bathroom but they cant leave their computer screens for 45 seconds and last but not least at least a few applying for TFB anonymous.
Did I miss anything?
Oh yeah and we’re also about to leave the Big12 for the SEC or the Big 10.
Nice! Would be great if you could provide a summary at least 3x a day. 🙂
Only if I get paid as much as the rest of the TFB staff does!
Deal.
YAY!
If we go to the SEC, I WILL NOT EVER, EVER, EVER chant SEC, SEC SEC. It starts and ends with the Sooners! BOOMER!
Same here, bruh.
What’s up with that, anyway?
Super lame… Maybe a change to WE OWN YOU would suffice.
Don’t know. I travel extensively throughout the SE all the time, have on occasion attended a game when time and schedule permits, (I love Sooners 1st, college FB 2nd. Sometime during the game all the fans start that silly chant. I just can’t see me doing that ever!!!!.
It’s Aristotle’s fault. He was always saying, “The sum is greater than the parts, the sum is greater than the parts.” I guess the academic types in the SEC just picked up on it.
Aristotetlian logic and the SEC, never thought I would see those words in the same sentence. :-0
Most of those guys didn’t learn to read until after college. Bo knows.
So much for my theory.
I am with you 100%
Absolutely! I want to go to the SEC. I would love for us to embrace the challenge and dominate “the best conference in college football” (per espn)… but I will never chant S-E-C.
Not buying it. Big 12 is a central plains conference. Have zero interest in being part of that old south league.
SEC. Let’s go against the best. It also occurs to me that if Missouri can win division championships in the SEC, we can too.
No, we’re not.
Got a Twitter notification from TFB breaking the news that it was Chanse Sylvie. But the tweet was deleted seconds later.
My tweet said, the recruit asked “not to be named” yet.
I support excellent recruits committing to OU. I fully support said recruits signing on NSD.
I second that!
Where are all the “OU recruiting is terrible” posters?
No need to go there, IMO. Things were pretty terrible. But, as they always can, things can change very, very quickly when it comes to recruiting.
Can’t we all just be happy things seem to now be turning in OU’s favor?
I hear you….still with months of negativity a little “callout” can’t be helped.
I totally get it. Especially being one of those being negative 🙂
Haha not you J, you’ve just seen and heard it a million times before. I dont blame you.
Recruiting is what you make it… I’m not concerned about it until NSD
Definitely the smartest approach to things, that’s for sure.
…
http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/10/30/c4/1030c45c7591633569e5d821bd9324e3.jpg
Of course the trolls are concerned… they ain’t got no clothes on and their hair is F’ed up. I be concerned, too, if I looked like that.
I really glad I can’t tell which one is Bawey and which one is Jenni…..
When it’s nearing August and you rank right up there with Old Dominion in terms of recruiting, there’s bound to be some concern, and rightfully so.
Just got an update. Whaley to Old Dominion…damn!!
They got Tyrie Cleveland, too.
/s
Ok, too far, EasTex!
…
http://media3.giphy.com/media/QgixZj4y3TwnS/200.gif
…I don’t have words for this.
True, nothing is certain until NSD, I’m sure I’m not the only one of the regulars on here that have been waiting to tell the group in EasTexs picture “WHAT NOW! SUCK IT!”……or something along those lines.
Oh yeah thats understandable, there’s levels of negativity on here, some more doom and gloom than others (not going to name names) but I try to see both sides. Recruiting isn’t where is should but and isn’t said and done at the same time.
I think I saw those rankings. We were like 71, Texas was 59. In other words, rankings on July 30 mean little imo. If we get the two commits that there is so much speculation about today, we would get a a big boost in the same rankings. Which still would mean little.
Think about this. Even if we do in fact land Sylvie and Youngquist, we are still well below OU standards. Just to put it into perspective. We pretty much need to bat 1.000 on Whaley, Sylvie, Youngquist and Kelly to have a shot at a top 15 recruiting class. That isn’t me being negative. That’s being realistic with where things currently stand and what needs to happen for us to get where we want to be.
At this point yes, it looks like OU is behind, but it is still early. Granted it’s in the late stages of “early” but still. To be able to land a Top 15 class after last year would be phenomenal. OU hasn’t had to deal with those odds since BS started.
Even if we got those, we probably would not have a top 15 class. We are taking a small class this year and the rankings are based on total number of signees. If you look at average stars we sit right around 20. Adding those today would likely get us into the top 10 on average stars. They might not get us a top 50 ranking because of the low numbers of players. Last I heard we were signing 17-18 this year, we aren’t going to get in the top 15 against teams that are signing 25, if they have anywhere near the same number of average stars.
I’m not 100% sure, but I believe they do rankings based on the top 25 recruits in the class. If we don’t sign 25 guys I’ll be upset. We already have vacant schollies. I don’t care if they are lower tier 2* guys. We need to be filling every scholarship available.
Last count we had 17 or 18 schollies to give. So go ahead and start being upset.
Our class will be 21-23 this year, mark it down. Things just have a way of working out that way. We’ve already have one more with Dalton Wood not coming.
Possibly, but you have to plan on what you know at the time. Going from my arguably weak memory I seem to remember more leaving at the end of the year rather than during the season. I could certainly see a couple more not sure I see 23 by signing day.
Do we normally see transfers after the season between semesters? I am thinking that would be a time for those that see the writing on the wall would be able to transfer to get thru spring ball at a new school. No knowledge of such myself, so any input would be appreciated.
I can remember a few. Some still stayed through the end of the school year, probably because of scholarships. No real data here though.
What is 18+7?
18 is the total number available. So 18+7 is irrelevant.
Forget about pageantry (i.e., recruiting rankings). Seems clear you’re more concerned with OU’s recruiting ranking than who they actually get (e.g., their skill level, how they fit into OU, and help OU become more complete). Quite backwards.
Yeah because there is no correlation at all to top recruiting classes and winning national titles. Where have Florida State, Florida, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, USC and Oklahoma ranked in recruiting when they played in or won national titles? There are exceptions, but ignoring that trend is just naïve.
http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/correlation.png
Not going to waste my time and especially not your time trying to come to an agreement. Let’s just agree that we want what’s best for OU and hope that we can get some commits! Boomer!
Why is it that every single jackass with nothing good to say always claims that they’re “keeping it real”?
K, any idea who was the last LB we had with a verified sub 4.5?
I had read it was Hulk..
supposed Travis Lewis ran one in HS
While waiting for a boom, here’s the best play from the 2013 Cotton Bowl

I see we’re not the only ones drinking
Those hash marks will jump out and get you every time.
Let’s talk about that game…I was working that night and only caught the score…what happened??? How did it turn into such a blowout?
Obviously you’re an a&m fan but I will indulge you. What happened is Johnny ran around like a madman high on cocaine. Unfortunately, we didn’t have Hollywood Henderson high on cocaine to chase him down.
my guess is Omotosho will announce for the Pukes…..and don’t see anyway Youngquist won’t declare for Oregon.—-too many reports indicate him having Oregon #1……guess we’ll find out tomorrow….
and here he is “folks”

We love you Stephen Dale!!!
“We don’tlove you Stephen Dale!!!”
Fixed it for ya’.
/welcome
Haha, sometimes people just need to be loved:)
True, then there are those who aren’t lovable.
I’ve seen some light shine through his darkness from time to time.
God loves everyone, and we are supposed to. Not that I come remotely close to that difficult standard. But everyone is lovable.
A standard we should all aspire to, while not always possible.
Life wouldn’t be the same here without him. Brings a certain flair
That’s how I feel. He is the Eeyore of the TFB community. Cracks me up.
So does a ripe fart in a hot, crowded elevator.
I tell you what Stephen Dale. I’m gonna go check into da smack down hotel, room 316, take that attitude of yours, turn that sumbitch sideways, and stick it up your candy……(you know the rest)
here ya go!!
And the world will end the day before Christmas!

See KJ1123’s reply below. 🙂
Stephen Dales Response 2 minutes after we win the NC.
“Great, OU wins it once every 15 years”
Ahhhh….got my “sky is falling” fix………….
When OU fans get positive recruiting news they are like
July 30, 2015
guess walmart emptied
I now live just outside of Boston and let me tell you. If you think OU fans are moody and ridiculous Boston anything fans are much worse. It makes for some great sports talk radio though.
Yesterday a host basically said he believed the Wells report more than Brady and a guy called in a just lit the host up. How dare he question Tom Brady. It was awesome!
Never question the Greatest of All Time!

Oh yes. I lived in western mass for five years, having the celts, the patriots, BU, BC etc ram fed to me 24/7.
My favorite was the guy who insisted that Boston College would ‘destroy’ OU or ‘any southern team’ who ‘dared’ to schedule them. As I recall, I was so broken laughing that beer came out my nose.
Was it a Samuel Adams brewski?
Don’t rightly recall. But I was a poor student, so odds favor one of a selection of: Piels, Naragansett, Old Milwaukee, Mickey’s Big Mouth or Black Horse.
Ok I hear you
Just figured Sam Adams is so typical Bahstan.
It is now. It was just starting then. Those were back in the Moosehead days of yore.
What? Scots and Irish folks get exited??? Some of my best times while in the Navy was visiting Scotland and Ireland. They made me feel like part of the family straight away.
Try Philly fans. They belong in zoos.
Sylvie commit yet?
..
So if we pick up sylvie today and perhaps youngquist tomorrow (still have my doubts) and the apparent news that Kelly and Whaley are silent commits…do you guys think all the sky is falling is for nothing?
More often than not, that IS the case. OU
I sure hope that we get all of the above but Im really looking forward to getting a few OL and especially DL recruits. Im a bit concerned ( hopefully needlessly ) about Diron Reynolds recruiting ability.
I would think his creds would be alluring to any HS recruit. I have wondered if he needs a year or so for recruits to see how his players do, get drafted etc. This years DL will be very telling I think.
I like his creds as well but Ive seen him in interviews and I just don’t feel that energy that Id like to see.
I know Im way too spoiled by Monty.
We had a great d line class last year. It might be tough to stock with as good as what we got because of that.
…….
Sylvie’s twitter says commitment in 10. Hope so, gotta pee.
My first post! Been a reader for quite some time. Had to share how small world is… I just ran into Jamell Fleming at the Phoenix airport. He’s on his way to Kansas City. Super cool guy. I use to work for the athletic dept at OU and always liked him as both an athlete and person. He took the time to talk current state of OU football as well as family life and kids. Wish him the best in KC.
care to relate his remarks on ou football……..thxs
My apologies, new to posting. My reply is up above, rphokc.
no apologies, gettin’ your feet wet………..nice mountain man beard
We mostly talked secondary and, in particular, the Baylor game. Jamell doesn’t get to watch games much but he has had the same concerns we have all had.
Welcome aboard!!
Awesome Jon! Tell Zac congrats for me. Dnunn
Ah, the lovely Sky Harbor airport! I used to travel quite a bit for work and spent considerable time there.
Jonathan readers want to know what his thoughts on the current state of OU football were. Can you share?

I saw on a profile that they listed his 40 at 4.48. Is that a legit time or a coach/parent time?
After looking at youngquist’s Twitter I feel better about K’s comments.
Lets hope K is right.
Thats a nice edit by Boomer16:

You know what okc and Rancho Cucamonga have in common?
Ok i’ll bite..
“What??”
Exactly what I was thinkin…
Rancho is located in what I’d call near desert but close enough to LA to get their smog and other big city problems.
Two places Bryce will have played football!
Both Dodger farm cities.
I didn’t think of that but they’ve got a Mathis brothers out there.
Hasn’t OU had four Butkus winners? Boz twice, Rocky Calmus and Lehman both once?
Yes 4 Butkus awards…but I think the poster says 3 LB awards since 2000.
What is his twitter handle?
I looked at his twitter and than him reposting the OU edit of him I didn’t see anything that made feel like OU Swayed him from the ducks. I want them to real bad but man I don’t know. He even said after visit that Oregon was still his number 1. My heart says maybe OU my head says ducks
Since his tweet that he would announce on Friday, he’s only retweeted OU edits and I’ve got to believe Oregon fans are going hard after him on there.

BOOM!!! Boomer Sooner, Baby!!!!!
Is his name pronounced like chance or chance-E?
the former
I’m gonna call him Chans-E.. I like the idea of having a safety, with the name Chans-E.. knocking people out..
Chansey?

Depending on the recruiting service you read, that makes 4 four star and 2 three star and 1 one star recruit. (Only 1 concensus four star) Even thought the class will probably be smaller in number, with the potential for quality recruits still ahead, looks like a pretty good start to a good class.
Double BOOM, whats the second one?
Sorry, I was just referring to the actual Sylvie commitment post on the front page that also contains a BOOM.
Is OU looking to take 2 safeties in this class?
I’d say probably one safety and two corners
So this pretty much shut the door on Thompson or Jackson. I say lock up Eboh and shut it down for the secondary.
G-Day minus 37
Couple of excellent players here.
Ben Hart
still remember being glued to the radio for the ’66 ou/tx game……..warmack lofted a long pass and bob barry gave a classic description, a second or two of silence, “a fantastic catch by hart!”……….beat ut for the only time in the ’60’s
An early part of Sooner Magic. Always enjoy hearing someone tell about their memories. Thank you.
the state was so hungry for a win over ut that many, if not most, public schools closed the following monday in celebration
Matt Moreland
Would love him to be a Sooner, but it’s still very likely he’s going to Oregon.
Doesn’t matter. He will take an official visit to OU regardless. Nothing an incredible atmosphere and season can’t do…
True, but I’ve spent time in Eugene, and it’s pretty awesome, especially for West Coast guys.
If you like rain, mist, and fog followed by light rain. Doesn’t get real hot though. Just very little sun.

Not even August, yet, but this just came out.

Only 8 SEC teams in the top 25. ESPiN not doing their job.
List of voters at the bottom. Seven SEC coaches voting.

Well, is that an indication of how they feel about tomorrow?
Edit jk 2017
Youngquist is 2016, Foster is 2017.

Jake trotter filling in for al eshbach they couldn’t be any more opposite and I would much rather listen to crimson colored sports radio.
Wasn’t Sylvie and some kid from out on the east coast a dual package late last May?
Hey, East Tex – we lost Buddy Emmons Wednesday. Figured you might recognize the name.
Pedal steel player extraordinaire. Actually have a couple of old vinyls he put out. R.I.P.
