– Caleb Roddy: TFB has been keeping close tabs on 2016 DE Caleb Roddy (6’5″ 248 – Denham Springs, LA) and in that time, he has blown up with 16 (and counting) scholarship offers. The twitchy speed rusher has just now, however, started to hear from the OU coaching staff. For the past several months he had been receiving regular mail from Sooners, but had yet to receive any personal contact from the coaches. That all changed this past Sunday evening as first-year OU DBs coach Kerry Cooks spoke with Roddy, who says Cooks invited him to Norman for a visit. Evidently Cooks went on to say an official offer could very well be in the works. Roddy told TFB there is a definite interest with OU on his part and is planning to take Cooks up on his invite. – (Brandon)
– Calvin Bundage: The 2016 OK Preps hybrid defender (6’3″ 200 – Edmond, OK) and his family were in attendance this past weekend for OU’s annual spring scrimmage. And Bundage shared with TFB that he and his family had a great time, even spending some both Bob Stoops and Tim Kish. It was far from Bundage’s first visit to Norman and many believe with an OU offer already in-hand, the Sooners are presumably school to beat. So we asked the Edmond standout about his future plans.
He said there are no plans on committing before his upcoming senior season and plans on taking all five of his official visits. However, he does know already that OU and Arizona (where his older brother currently plays) will be two of those five visits. At this point, it seems likely Michigan could also receive one of those five visits. We’ve also heard from a source close to the situation that Oklahoma State has been making quite the push of late. Bundage said he’s planning a visit to Arkansas for this coming weekend and potentially hitting Missouri as well.
OU is remains one of his top schools, but Bundage is a kid who also wants to use this opportunity he has to see what else is out there. And there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. – (Brandon & Super K)
– Loren Mondy: 2017 linebacker (6’1″ 240 – Mansfield, TX) and Arizona State commit made a second trip up to Norman this past weekend for the Red/White game, and believe it or not already has a return trip planned in just a couple weeks. Regarding his most recent visit, however, Mondy told TFB it could not have gone any better. It turns out he and fellow 2017 LB Levi Draper are good friends, so the two spent the better part of last Saturday hanging out together in Norman.
He remains committed to the Sun Devils, but as he continues to garner more attention it will be interesting to see if that remains to be the case. Either way with a third OU trip already in the works, it would certainly appear as though there is a mutual interest between Mondy and the Sooners. – (Brandon)
– Levi Draper: Speaking of Draper (6’3″ 225 – Collinsville, OK), he also enjoyed his time in Norman this past weekend. Draper told TFB he came down with his father, both of whom had the chance to speak with Coach Kish quite a bit during the day.
Interest continues to pick up almost by the day in the talented 2017 linebacker. In fact, both Arkansas and SMU invited Draper to their respective scrimmages this weekend. The Collinsville prodct told us he plans to take the Hogs up on their offer and will head over to Fayetteville later this week. Not necessarily a sure thing, but we won’t be at all surprised if Draper picks up an offer from Arkansas during this visit. – (Brandon)
– Na’ty Rodgers: Some of our resident recruiting aficionados may recall the name of offensive tackel Na’ty Rogers (6’5″ 290 – Pomfret, MD) from several years back in the 2013 class. He held an OU offer at the time and the Sooners pursued him pretty hard, but he wound up committing to South Carolina. Rogers would up going the JUCO route instead, and somewhat by happenstance I had a chance to catch up with him this past weekend.
It just so turns out the OU staff reached out to him last week and while an official offer has yet to be made, we get the sense that could change here in the future. As an aside, Rogers will be a ‘three years to play three’ guy. – (Super K)
– UPDATE (10:45 am): Sooners miss the Top 10 cut for 2016 OT offer, Frank Martin (Santa Ana, CA).

Open Poooooost!
Glad to hear more about Bundage. Big fan of his.
update added
Caleb Roddy reminds me of another Louisiana stud I wanted to see at OU several years ago named Barkevious Mingo
Barkevious Mingo huh? I got that once in college. Turns out it only takes 3 rounds of shots to get rid of.
Dude is a stud with the Browns. He was an OLB but the same type of athlete and would’ve greatly helped OU’s defense. He was part of great Ds at LSU
I know who he is. He has a brother named Hughtavious too. Oh dixie…
That’s a bit of a surprise with Martin; I thought OU was in the running.
Everyone besides Jordan’s Uncle Stephen can see we have lots of talent on the Oline.
Mater Dei kid. It will be hard to pull one of those out of SoCal.
lots of quality , high profile Pac12 schools as well as ND and some B1G after the elite prospects coming out of Mater Dei,,,,,,,,the Little 12-2 offers little to entice this type of prospect to the Midlands or Texas…..
hook is baited
He would gladly ‘hook em’
Nice
Where you been big dog? Things have been overly positive without you trolling about. Tell us what you think about the QB situation
Haha. Yea. What does he think about Austin Kendall committing? It’s not like he really had any other offers or anything, right Stephen?
JD—————Kendall is not Costello so we’ll have see………
Costello is the 2nd rated pro style QB with Kendall sitting there at 3. But hey you’re the horns fan so you obviously know quite a bit about QBs
You’re implying that Oklahoma can’t pull top talent. Kendall is #3 in the country. Not sure what exactly you are looking at but that looks like top talent to me. He also had offers from 3 sec schools including tennessee and auburn. so the implication that we cant compete with other conferences is obviously 100% wrong. As far as him not being Costello, I’m not sure I like Costello better than him. And the coaches may not have either, I dont think we even offered him. He could turn out to be a bust. But so could Costello. Rankings aren’t everything, just a barometer of where guys are currently. We pulled a fairly “ok” running back who wasnt even close to being ranked the #1 back out of high school. He had good offers from other schools like oh… You know… Alabama. What’s that guys name? Oh yea… Perine. He’s alright. He MIGHT be able to be considered “top talent”. So basically your negativity about the big 12 is proven as being demonstrably false. Although watching you huff and puff with no actual reasoning behind what your saying is hilarious to see. So please, keep it coming. Bahahaha
JD, you just sent S Dale packing. Love the points you made. The truth of the matter is that OU is the no 1 RB school, and an argument can be made that we are also the no 1 QB school as well. OU has a number of OL in the league. The one area where we are slightly deficient is LB’s in the NFL.
So ANYBODY who says that OU has nothing to offer recruits in Cali or anywhere else simply does not know the game or is willfully ignorant.
Just pointing out the obvious haha. We don’t get every recruit we go after. But neither does Alabama, or Oregon, or Baylor, or Texas, or TCU, or Florida St, or Auburn, or… (Insert literally ANY college football program in the country). Some people just don’t allow reality to have any influence on how they formulate their opinions. Makes for hilarious forum reading though 🙂
Good points. He-who-must-not-be-named just comes here to piss people off. That’s a disturbing quality to have. I wish he would get the ban hammer. I don’t understand why some people find it so gratifying to be mean. I wish he’d go away. He’s like a fart: all gas and he stinks.
I wonder…..is your profile picture in conjunction with your commentary simply to annoy people as a troll?
or is it that you are actually, in reality, the deebag you look like?
Either way, it explains a lot……..
He-who-must-not-be-named was here yesterday doing his best seagull impression: you know, fly over there and leave crap, fly over there and leave crap, fly over there and leave crap, fly…
kokevo—-hope Riley can develop at least one complete QB from amongst the 4 on campus…..maybe he can.
He has talented guys to work with even if it doesn’t show now it will by fall just give him a little time.
I wonder…..is your profile picture in conjunction with your commentary simply to annoy people as a troll?
or is it that you are actually, in reality, the deebag you look like?
Either way, it explains a lot………
Agree Stephen. Plenty of schools call on Mater Dei prospects. Few leave the state.

I heard him on with James Hale last week. Interesting kid. Lives in LA. Boards a city bus every morning at 6:00 am for a 1:45 minute bus ride to school Mater Dei. Then after practice, takes the same bus ride home. Gets home about 8:00 every night. That’s a kid that really wants to play at Mater Dei
He does an interview on Oklahoma radio with an OU Insider like Hale but doesn’t even list OU in his top ten. Very strange.
He and his dad were both on just soaking up the limelight, IMO. I didn’t have a good feeling after hearing the interview, although he was very complimentary of Coach B. He has offers from everyone. Not surprised we didn’t make his Top 10.
Can anybody tell me anything on the second center, #58 Erick Wren? I rewatched the spring game and it looked like he was doing a solid job.
Walk-on, has definitely been impressing the coaches in practice. To the point I’ve even heard some suggest he could potentially play his way into the backup C spot. Probably a little early with regards to all that just yet, but the coaches like him.
Yes, he’s a JUCO transfer and he looked good at backup center on Saturday. His earning the job would help with the depth at OG.
I also thought that the third team OTs, Daimler and Grant, looked pretty good on Saturday as well.
I did too, along with Hardaway and Hartsook.
What about the walk-on safety brian walker I think is his name he looked like a big time hitter and I have heard the coaches speak about him before the scrimmage.
He looked very solid. I figured that Dalton or Alvarez would be the backup but Wren impressed me.
Wonder if he’s any relation to a player we had long ago (probably early 90s ) named Ricky Wren, a d-lineman?
Enjoy Arkie, Levi. But when you leave Fayetteville, run and never look back.
Bundage-Draper 2016
Draper is 2017.

Do you know the best thing about Fayetteville?

Men at Work is a classic
George’s ain’t bad. Some homely women tho.
Do you guys know where the coaches stand in regards to Matt Farniok? I know he was at the spring game but he doesn’t have an offer.
I thought that Na’ty Rodgers sounded familiar when I read his name.
Hey guys,
Regarding Roddy, have the OU coaches sent his girlfriend 15 letters in an effort to recruit him?
Just wondering if OU can hang, er recruit, with the SEC schools…
Im really glad to see OU recruiting 240 pound LBs

Goliath
They call me the Breeze

5′ 10″ 196lbs
5’10 190 and my 4.7 40 time is now, 7.4. Maybe.
I probably couldnt even finish a 40
I have a 14″ vertical, so I have that going for me…
only if i’m on a step latter
You are “borrowing”Dan Patrick’s bit …6’2 195
“DING”
I didn’t hear it. What was the bit?
LOL. 6-3/280.
5’11, 185 and my 4.8 40 is probably a 5.1 now.
I think they should post their IQs…I don’t care about their physique..just don’t want to argue with a stupid person hehe
6’1″, 190 lbs IQ… off the charts
5’9″, 185 and I can still outrun people my age while toting a 30 pack under my arm. 🙂
Still 6′ 230, just like I was many years ago, but strangely things have shifted around.
I blame gravity.
Gravity is the devil, My V shaped back has somehow taken on more of a square shape.
Gravity is not only a good idea, it’s the law!
[gainedtoomuch]Yeah, you run with that. I’ll hang back and…not. [/gainedtoomuch]
5’9.5″ 181lbs
Roddy looks powerful and has great awareness but do you see him as a true DE or putting on some weight and playing DT?
Damn. Bundage isn’t afraid to hit people.
The first 2 tackles neither kid wanted to get back up.
“Coach… tell them I broke something… and keep that guy away from me”
“I don’t wanna play football no more!”
Reminds me of Steve Atwater. Running around the secondary ringing bells
to the handful, if that, of nhler’s on here, the fun starts tonite……..lgr, let’s go rangers!
would agree the Rangers are the team to beat….unfortunately.
I wonder…..is your profile picture in conjunction with your commentary simply to annoy people as a troll?

Either way, it explains a lot…………
Easy now. No name-calling, please.
…
Yes, the real season starts tonight and I do have the Rangers taking the Cup but they’re not my fave… Would love to see the Bolts take it- I’m a big Steve Yzerman fan.
yeah, maybe ducks/rangers in final but would not be surprised if one/both were not there………..good luck with the wings
Not Wings, Bolts (Lightning). A lot of good, early match-ups
i know, but you play the wings
Ahh, yes we do.
Blackhawks!!!
heard kane is giving it a go vs preds…..good luck
helluva win by hawks, the backup goalie was outstanding
Play The Note…Go Blues.
your blues start tonite………good luck
Bundage = another Roy Williams
We’ve continuously dubbed our hot safety recruits as the “next Roy Williams” too many times. Nobody will ever live up to the Roy Williams hype.
My point is he like Roy hits hard and plays the run great. He doesn’t get pushed back. Comparison not saying he is next Roy
Also kinda reminded me of Brandon Everage, what with the whole reckless abandon thing and all…
Bundage has no intention of using his body for anything when he’s older.
There’s an OU Daily article that declares Justice Hansen should be the starter for OU because of the following reasons.
1. He went 5/5 in the Spring Game
2. He played in a similar offense at Santa Fe
3. He has cleaned up his throwing motion.
This is not a test.
Then again. If he did start, we could continue the use of the FUJH acronym.
Pretty funny article and probably just to get some clicks but the FUJH acronym might not be necessary if we want to play the hypothetical where Justice starts. In fact, I cannot see him performing any worse than Trevor. Experience and game speed is highly valuable, but if you compare Trevor’s high school stats with those of Justice, there is an easily discernible difference (completion percentage & TD’s, not saying it projects to the collegiate level). With all of this nonsense of mine being said, I have no idea who I would want to start at this point.
Well, if we are basing things on the Spring Game, then we should bench Perine because every time he got the ball we had short or no gain.
He was terrible….I could have broke some of those tackles. 🙂
I know. He barely got touched some times and he was down.
He didn’t even dress right, had on the wrong jersey.
Just gonna leave this here…
Boom…?
no boom… sry

I don’t get it.
Brilliant.
Except for the “25 to” part
And this…
Does that come with flip flops?
And a friend for (25 years to) life!
Proof that the color orange is for losers.
Perfect!

Thanks.
Wise words.
All four are capable of handing the ball to Perine, that’s the most important thing. I’ve given up trying to pick the winner…..just waiting for fall.
I ain’t picking and it wouldn’t matter if I did, not my call.
I just want to win!!!
Exactly.
Only a few more minutes…

Bundage is a good looking player however I don’t think he will end up at OU the way his recruiting seems to be playing out. I don’t mind a kid taking all his visits as a matter of fact I would encourage any kid to take his 5 visits to schools outside his backyard. Sure you want them to roll out the carpet for you at ou and osu and more schools closer to home. But if my son was being recruited by all kinds of schools I would take as many visits and go with the one that interests him the most.
Back to why I don’t think he will end up at OU is because I don’t think he’s an upper tier guy like kelly and dontavious Jackson. As long as those 2 guys plus Marvin terry and pernell jefferson have OU in their top schools, then I think OU will slow play some of their other LB targets including bundage.
FWIW Guarantano committed to the Vols. Seems a little ironic only because Austin Kendall was formerly a Tennessee commit back when we — or JH was looking at the NJ prospect. I think we got the better QB.
Thought Guarantano was going with Rutgers?
/hunh…kids
It’s not over til it’s over.
Nossir, more than 9 months until what they say matters.
Well, we made Parker Boudreaux’s top ten.
I’ve been meaning to tell you, I took the boys skiing in March. Well the skiied, I didn’t. But day 1 minding my own business & up walks Scotty Stokes hollering at me…
You better not injure that poor old leg again!
Heck no! I am still probably only 75 % & I am ahead of schedule! Appt with the surgeon next Friday!
HAHA, you never know where that guy is going to show up.
I know right? When I got grabbed from behind, I thought someone was outta control, crashing into the deck area… Lol. Omg he’s such hoot…
I seen him on tv a while back, isn’t he running emergency management, or something like that, for Rogers County?
I think so, I know he is still the captain at one of the Tulsa Fire Stations also… I don’t know about tv stuff, I can see Rogers Co not being a ton of work. Jjust know he’s never changed a bit lol… Except maybe 40 lbs, I knew who he was immediately
