OU has landed their man in the middle for the 2019 class. Recent OU visitor, Derek Green out of North Carolina has committed to Oklahoma.
Green committed to the Oklahoma staff earlier today, his father confirmed. This was the source of Riley’s Cookie Monster eyes. Green’s father let us know they would be announcing tomorrow but it looks like they decided to get it up a little earlier.
I would like to thank every school that has been recruiting me since my high school career started but it was time for me to make a decision….so I have verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma!!!š pic.twitter.com/Ts0XMFaKHE

We’ll have our thoughts on this prospect and more soon.
Super K said the following about Green earlier today on the Donor board:
They are finally looking for massive guys who many would recruit as a OG or sawed off OT to plug the middle. A guy like Green is similar to Lampkin. Heās a guy who can swallow up a center and is difficult to scoop. This is what you want in the middle of Mikeās defense. Guys like Overton are quick and use their hands well but are ultimately more suited for an aggressive defense like Todd Orlandoās down in Texas. Really like this offer and the Sooners seem to be early here.
