Quick Thoughts
– September: 5 games (don’t see that often)
– October: 3 games (don’t see that often)
– November: 4 games (there we go)
– 3 home non-conference games, 4 home conference games. Another rarity to have 7 home games in a season.
– The Sooners only have four true road games on the schedule, another unusual part of the schedule.
– OU doesn’t generally end up having conference play start before all non-conference games are completed. That won’t be the case in 2018, as Iowa State is sandwiched in between UCLA and Army.
– The bye week falls after Texas and before TCU, which may not be a bad time for it for the Sooners.
– Another earlier Bedlam than has become tradition in the recent past.
– The obvious thing that stands out here is the Black Friday matchup with West Virginia. OU doesn’t play on Fridays often; the last regular season game played on a Friday was at Tulsa in 2007 (the last weekday was at Iowa State in 2016).
