2017 Big 12 Football Awards

The Big 12 is announcing conference awards Thursday afternoon.

WVU QB Will Grier has won Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

Dede Westbrook won the award for the Sooners in 2015.

TCU DL Ben Banogu is the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the year.

He had 2 total tackles against OU.

Texas punter has won the Big 12 Special Teams player of the year.

Texas DL Poona Ford has won the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.

He had 1 tackle against OU.

For the second straight year, OU OL Orlando Brown has won Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Orlando Brown has been the face of the dominant Sooners line this season.

The Big 12 has announced Co-Offensive Freshmen of the year: TCU WR Jalen Reagor and Baylor QB Charlie Brewer.

The Big 12 has announced Co-Defensive Freshmen of the Year: TCU DL Ross Blacklock and OU LB Kenneth Murray.

Blacklock had 2 tackles against OU.

Iowa State Head Coach Matt Campbell has won the Big 12 Coach of the Year Award. Hard to argue with what he’s done at that program this season.

The Big 12 has announced Co-Defensive Players of the Year: Texas LB Malik Jefferson and OU LB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo.

Obo has been an absolute force this year for the Sooners.

The Big 12 has announced its Offensive Player of the Year: OU QB Baker Mayfield.

This is Mayfield’s second time to win the award; he won it in 2015, then had his receiver Dede Westbrook win it in 2016.
