2016 Velus Jones Back to USC

2016 WR Velus Jones (Saraland, AL) flipped from USC to Oklahoma yesterday. The commitment was short lived as Velus announced this afternoon that he is recommitting to USC. Here is the tweet from Jones:
I have made my final decision to attend the University of Southern California and I'm ending my recruitment FIGHT ON!

Some receivers are shifty. They posses the ability to change directions in the blink of an eye. The fake routs they run are unpredictable. Sometimes they drop the ball.

Well I can see why eastex is taking some time off.
I guess my assumption was correct in that he’s not a fan of the recruiting process. I have to agree with him. Too bat$%#& crazy for me:)
Is a bit easier (for us fans) just to wait until NSD….
He likes guys when they’re committed but he likes them more once they’ve signed.

I’m still a relative newbie on these boards, but I’m surprised SD hasn’t said anything here. Disappointing, but let’s hope a different WR recruit pans out and/or we can flip someone (like Cleveland ?)

Any ideas who they go after now? There is seemingly no one left on their board correct?
All I can do is chuckle because kids this age are so fickle. Disappointed as a Sooner fan, but somewhat humorous because kids will be kids.
U win some u lose some but in a couple weeks we will know who r gonna be sooners and we will continue to win with those players and will have some step up and be hero’s on Saturdays and I can’t wait to root for this this coming season.
I’m still a believer in SOONER MAGIC!! It will all work out by NSD…

This news is disappointing to say the least, and sort of bizarre. Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a quick about-face, but it’s probably happened before somewhere. Just goes to show the enormity and difficulty these young guys face making the best decisions for their futures. Well, USC got a really good football player. Wish him well.

Looks like Cody Thomas is switching back to baseball. Wish him the best, but it leaves us with a true freshman at backup.
A true freshman can stand there and not throw a pass unless a wide open short route or a dump pass. That’s all CT did.

Dalton Wood may end up the most important addition to the team this year.
If Baker goes down are next best option my be Joe Mixon, and run the same stuff Baylor ran in there bowl game.

the thing I noticed is that riley is recruiting players like jones at the wr position–with incredible speed. jones has incredible speed. that part is good of our recruiting is looking good
