The Path to Norman

D.J. Graham, out of Keller Central High School in Texas, began his journey to OU a long time before his signing day. He attended an Elite camp in the summer of 2018, when he received his offer.

After that, things were relatively quiet until a commitment the following spring. Graham had an offer sheet that included Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and LSU – an impressive resume.

Career so Far

Graham didn’t play in the first few games of 2020, but quickly started seeing the field. The corner played in the final eight games of the season, even starting in the Cotton Bowl. Coach Grinch rotated through several corners, but Graham was one of the frequent players and looked extremely promising.

In 2021, Graham became a staple at corner. He played in all games but one (injury), starting in 10. He ranked fifth amongst DBs in tackles on the season, first among those who played primarily at corner. Graham also made one the best interceptions many had ever seen during his sophomore campaign.

Highlights

This Season

In a season with new coaches and players all over the field, no position group may feel more impacted than the corners. A large pool of returning players and newcomers are vying for playing time; more than five appear to have real shots at ample snaps. Woodi Washington is firmly expected to start one side; Graham is battling to earn the starting role on the other side. After missing most of spring ball, Graham had some catching up to do. However, he has two seasons of experience to lean on. In a room packed with options, expect to see Graham routinely playing corner in 2022.
