The Path to Norman
Josh Fanuiel comes to Norman out of Missouri City, Texas. Before Norman, however, he stopped at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, where he played college basketball. Following the 2022 season, Fanuiel transferred to OU as a preferred walk-on.

This Season
The tight end room has been one of the most banged up groups this spring. Austin Stogner leads the group, Jason Llewellyn and Kaden Helms return for their second seasons, and Blake Smith transferred in from Texas A&M. Fanuiel has seen action this offseason with several of that group seeing injury time. Despite it being his first year focusing on football in several years, the tight end spot is in need of depth; Fanuiel can help provide that in 2023.
