100 Days to Football Time in Oklahoma: #78 Bryce Roberts

The Path to Norman

Bryce Roberts played high school football just down the road from Norman at Mustang High School; however, he took a long detour to get to OU. Roberts spent two seasons at New Mexico State University before entering the transfer portal.

Career so Far

The Oklahoma product played in most games in his two years at NMSU. An SB nation page for the team mentions Roberts being an underutilized piece of the offense and that he often found a way to be open.

Highlights

2019 Season

Roberts’ 2019 season is hard to forecast. The offensive line is a stacked, although relatively inexperienced, group. Tight end is a spot that Grant Calcaterra has on lockdown, with Lee Morris sometimes used as a tight end type player. However, there certainly could be a role for Roberts to play alongside Calc in bigger packages, especially in the redzone. Tight end might be the place for Roberts to find playing time at OU.
