The Path to Norman
Ben Powers took the Juco route to Oklahoma. After spending a year with Butter Community College in Kansas, the Kansas Catholic school product chose the Sooners over programs including Kansas State, TCU, and Texas Tech.

Career So Far
Going into the 2016 season, many projected Powers would land the starting job at left guard. While it took a few games, he ended up starting the last ten for the Sooners. In 595 snaps, he surrendered one sack – that that seems like a favorable ratio to me. 2017 saw Powers play in every game for OU, starting in most of them.

2018 Season
Powers is a two-year starter at this point; that won’t be changing this year. While he is a versatile player, Ben should end up at the left guard spot again, providing excellent experience to the line. This is his senior season, and it could be a great opportunity to prove his draft worthiness.
