The Path to Norman
Nick Evers, a Texas high school football product, was a long-time Florida Gators commit. The highly-ranked quarterback was contacted by Coach Lebby shortly after the regime change in Norman; Evers was in Norman by early December. Within two weeks of Bedlam, Evers announced his flip to the new staff and Sooners.

Highlights
This Season
The 2022 OU quarterback room is almost entirely a clean slate from the 2021 group. Dillon Gabriel is set to start, with a mixture of newcomers and returners providing depth. Transfers Davis Beville and General Booty, along with Evers, are likely to be the primary backups at the spot, with returners Micah Bowens and Ralph Rucker also in the mix. As a true freshman, Evers is likely to redshirt this season and save eligiblity for the future. With plenty of time to go in his college journey, Evers will get the chance to ease into the college game and be ready to fight for the starting job in the future.
