The Path to Norman
Nate Anderson, out of the DFW area in Texas, was a slightly under the radar lineman for some time. A tall, but somewhat “lighter,” lineman in high school, Anderson started turning heads in the early spring of 2019. The Sooners went out to see Nate in May; within a week, he was offered while on an unofficial visit and committed right after that.

TFB had high praise for Anderson after his commitment.

Highlights
This Season
Four out of five starters return from the 2020 offensive line: the outlier is center. Coach Riley mentioned this spring that Anderson has been working at center, along with Chris Murray, Robert Congel, Ian McIver, and Andrew Raym. That’s a lot of competition for one spot. Nate will have to work for playing time this season, but the offensive line turnover on the two-deep will be high going into 2022. Anderson can keep working this season to position himself well for next year.
