The Path to Norman
Hailing from Ohio, Alex Dalton committed to the Sooners over five years ago – May 17, 2013. He had offers from teams including Nebraska, Penn State, Stanford, and many others at the time. Here’s a TFB player analysis on Alex Dalton back from 2013: TFB: Alex Dalton Player Analysis
Career So Far
Dalton started off his college career with a redshirt season. In 2015, he saw the field early and saw playing time several more times throughout the season. 2016 rolled around and saw Dalton as a starter for the season opener. Alex suffered a knee injury in the game. Despite recovering enough to keep playing during the season, he never reclaimed his starting role. Unfortunately, Dalton suffered an off-the-field season-ending injury last summer, so Sooner fans haven’t seen him on the field since the 2016 season.

Stats
2018 Season
Coach Bedenbaugh has made the offense line one of the deepest units on the team. With that depth comes tough competition to see playing time. Dalton should see himself in the rotation this fall; however, it will certainly be a challenge to earn significant playing time.
Note: It seems likely that, if Dalton applies for it after this season, he would receive a “medical hardship waiver” and be granted another year of eligibility.
