The Path to Norman
Gracen Halton, an ESPN top 300 recruit, didn’t start his recruitment as an OU commit. Instead, the California product was committed to the Oregon Ducks for almost exactly a year. The day after the Sooners beat the Ducks in the 2021 Alamo Bowl, Halton received an Oklahoma offer. In just over a month, Halton had decommitted from Oregon and signed with the Sooners.
Career so Far
Halton started seeing playing time in his first year on campus. He played in ten games, showing Sooner fans his athleticism.

Highlights
This Season
Halton’s athleticism gives the coaching staff some options. While primarily thought of as an interior lineman, he has worked at defensive end as well. He’s turned some heads this offseason.
“Another defensive lineman I have heard that has had some explosive moments at practice is sophomore Gracen Halton… he is a load for the offensive line to block and constantly wins his battles.”
It will be tough to land a starting job this fall. However, Halton certainly looks ready for a large role and could be a key piece of the defensive line in 2023 and beyond.
