The Path to Norman
Caleb Shaffer was a member of the 2019 recruiting class for Miami (Ohio). A big man out of Indiana, Shaffer had a prolific high school career (all-conference, played in state title game, holds several school records) before entering college. After his fourth season, Shaffer decided to transfer in the fall of 2022. A short time later, he joined the Sooners.
I thank God for what he’s done and for what he’s about to do

Career so Far
Shaffer didn’t take long to start making an impact in college. He played in 12 games his freshman season, starting in the final seven. Over the next three seasons, he was the starting guard in every game he played in (all but one), earning Academic All-MAC in 2021.

This Season
Shaffer is one of three incoming transfers along the offensive line (Walter Rouse and Troy Everett being the others). All three are poised to be in the two-deep or even starting. Shaffer can provide depth at both guard spots, with plenty of experience to draw upon. In his only season in Norman, Sooner fans will see Caleb Shaffer on the line frequently.
