The Path to Norman
Micah Bowens was a 3* dual-threat quarterback out of Las Vegas in the 2020 class. With offers from multiple programs, including Oregon, BYU, and Arizona, Bowens ended up signing with Penn State. However, that only lasted one season. With a quarterback room that included Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams, the Oklahoma quarterback room appeared elite, but was awfully low on depth following the departures of both Tanner Mordecai and Chandler Morris. Bowens entered the portal in January and quickly joined OU as a walk-on.

Career so Far
Bowens was at Penn State for one season and did not play. He was the first of three quarterbacks (Ralph Rucker and Ben Harris being the other two) to join the Sooners in the offseason between the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
In his first season at OU, Bowens did not see any playing time.
Highlights
This Season
The 2022 quarterback room is almost entirely revamped, with Dillon Gabriel the new starter. Transfers Davis Beville and General Booty are likely to provide the main source of backup to preserve the redshirt of freshman Nick Evers. Bowens will be battling with all three of them for depth snaps this year. However, Bowens’ athleticism provides a unique wrinkle that could be utilized in various ways – fans have hoped to see him at receiver and running back. With several seasons remaining in Norman, Bowens will be working to start earning snaps this year.
