The Path to Norman
Kelvin Gilliam, out of Virginia, was offered by the Sooners in February of 2020, roughly a year before signing day 2021. TFB’s own Super K stopped by to see him at the time, commenting that Gilliam had been communicating with the entire staff. After a virtual visit in May, OU was in a good spot. Gilliam silently committed in July, followed by a public commitment in August.
TFB’s Charlie had a great conversation with Gilliam a few months after his commitment; check it out!
Career so Far
During his first offseason in Norman, Gilliam was putting in work at OU while being announced as the Virginia Player of the Year.

Highlights
This Season
The 2021 Oklahoma defensive line looks ready to be the program’s best in years; with a lot of experience returning, Isaiah Thomas, Jalen Redmond, and Perrion Winfrey will headline the group. With plenty of talented options, it will be tough for Kelvin to crack the two-deep in 2021. However, with several of the guys in that two-deep being seniors (Thomas, Winfrey, Laron Stokes, and Josh Ellison), there will be a lot of competition in 2022. It might take a year for him to frequent the field, but Gilliam looks like he could be something special during his time in Norman.
