The Path to Norman
Emmett Jones III is the son of OU receivers Coach Emmett Jones. Coach Jones joined Oklahoma just after the end of the 2022 season. Jones III, a wide receiver and defensive back, played high school football in Lubbock, where Coach Jones was coaching at Texas Tech. Around a month after Coach Jones decided to head to Norman, Jones III announced he would join the team as a preferred walk-on.

This Season
The secondary has a mix of returning veterans and young talent competing for spots. In his first season on campus, Jones III will likely redshirt and look forward to pushing for playing time later in his time in Norman.
