The Path to Norman
Jaden Davis kept the South Florida pipeline alive in the 2019 class. A highly ranked corner, he was teammates at St. Thomas Aquinas with former Sooner Nik Bonitto. Despite offers from the likes of Clemson, Miami, and Texas, and several states of distance, Davis knew OU was the right choice from the first time he visited Norman and let it be known in the summer of 2018.

Career so Far
Davis had an impressive freshman season. Preseason, Tre Norwood and Tre Brown were expected to be the starters at corner. However, an injury to Norwood left one spot open. Parnell Motley stepped up and started in almost every game. However, Jaden was a big contributor at corner; he played in every game and even started against West Virginia. He was a hunter on defense and really earned his minutes.
Davis began the 2020 season as a starting corner. He started in six total games and played in 10 as part of an increasingly competitive secondary. Woodi Washington became the starter for the back half of the season, but Jaden still played frequently.
2021 was a similar season for Davis; he played in all 13 games, starting in half of them. The secondary did not have a banner season, but Davis continued to gain experience.

This Season
On Monday’s depth chart, Davis was named one of the starters at corner (Woodi Washington will man the other). There are plenty of talented options at corner, so it’s certainly no time to get comfortable for Davis. However, 37 games of experience as a Sooner will certainly benefit the corner this year as he looks to be a part of a resurgence in the OU secondary.
