The Path to Norman

Josh Plaster was part of the 2019 recruiting class, playing high school football in Texas. He originally committed to Arizona State, staying there for two seasons. After his second year, he decided to relocate to Norman.

Career so Far

During his freshman season at ASU, Plaster shared kickoff duties for the first half of the season before an injury cut the year short. Plaster redshirted in 2020.

Following the 2020 season, Plaster joined the Sooners; he has yet to see playing time.

This Season

With Michael Turk departing, OU has an opening at punter. Plaster has been competing with new transfers Luke Elzinga and Ashton Logan over the offseason, with Elzinga seeming to have the edge. Plaster has also provided backup at holder and place kicker over the offseason. With options at several spots, this looks to be the year that Josh Plaster sees playing time for the Sooners.
