The Path to Norman
Gavin Sawchuk, a Colorado product, was one of the highest-ranked backs in the 2022 class. He started picking up offers three years before his signing day, with teams including Michigan, Washington, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, and many more eventually vying for the back’s attention. Coach Murray worked hard to land Sawchuck and was rewarded for his hard work with a commitment.

Highlights
This Season
Eric Gray is gone to the NFL, leaving an opening at running back. Jovantae Barnes seems set to start, but Sawchuk is going to be a big factor in the backfield. Word out of camp is that he is a big threat every time he touches the ball, as Charlie reported yesterday. In year two on campus, Sawchuk will be taking a major step forward in carries.
