The Path to Norman
Chapman McKown’s move to OU was a short one; the running back played high school ball at Norman North. McKown earned an OU offer as a preferred walk-on the summer before his senior season. Shortly after that offer, he decided to join the Sooners.
IM ALL IN
I’m thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for getting me here! Thank you @CoachVenables, @DeMarcoMurray, @Coach_Leb and the rest of the @OU_Football staff for believing in me and taking a chance on a kid from Norman. With that being said…I’m committed‼️🔒 pic.twitter.com/cwI8F8Rj4m

Highlights
This Season
McKown enrolled early with the Sooners and went through offseason training. By all accounts, he had several impressive plays in his time on the field. With blazing speed (a 4.36 40 reportedly), he certainly fits into a mold of small but quick players that OU has utilized. A redshirt season is likely in store, but McKown’s speed could be an exciting fit for the Sooners’ offense in years to come.
