100 Days to Football Time in Oklahoma: #21 Kendall Dennis

The Path to Norman

Kendall Dennis, out of Lakeland, Florida, was part of the 2020 class. He had offers from Florida, Miami, Florida State, and Georgia by the summer of 2019; all of those programs had proximity as an advantage. Then, in a quick series of events, Dennis was offered by the Sooners and made an official visit in November. Shortly after that, Kendall was a signing day announcement for OU.

Highlights

2020 Season

The cornerback position this season has a surprisingly high level of playing experience. Tre Norwood, Tre Brown, Jaden Davis, and Justin Broiles will make up the two deep at corner, all of whom have game snaps to draw on. After that, a trio of freshmen – Dennis, D.J. Graham, and Joshua Eaton – will be providing depth at the spot. While it’s reasonable to expect all three to earn playing time this year, the experience in front of them will make it tough to crack the two deep, especially with a redshirt available for all three. However, the 2020 corner class will be a foundation for the next several years. Look to see Dennis on the field this year as he begins a hopefully long career in Norman.
