The Path to Norman

Tory Blaylock was a four-star recruit in the 2025 class. The running back was a speedster – he was part of a track relay that set the high school national record in the 4×100. His family has quite the football background – his father (Derrick) played in the NFL for seven years and he has two brothers who played college football. Blaylock received offers from several dozen major programs and had a final six including Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, and Alabama. However, former running backs Coach Murray landed the back in the spring of 2024.

Career so Far

Blaylock was expected to contribute in year one, but he far exceeded just contributing. He played in every game with six starts and led the running backs in carries, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns. Blaylock earned SEC All-Freshman Team selection and was twice named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Highlights

This Season

Blaylock has been banged up most of the offseason, with a hamstring injury keeping him limited throughout fall camp. Xavier Robinson, Lloyd Avant, and Jonathan Hatton are expected to join Blaylock as the four most heavily-featured backs. Blaylock will ease back into his role, but will be a major part of the offense throughout the season.
