The Path to Norman

Courtland Guillory was a corner out of Texas in the 2025 OU recruiting class. The Sooners were part of a flurry of offers Guillory received in early 2024; he visited Norman multiple times in the following months. In a matchup against the Longhorns, Oklahoma won out for Guillory’s commitment.

Career so Far

As the offseason wore on approaching Guillory’s freshman year, a mixture of offseason injuries to others and Guillory making the most of his opportunities put him at starter for game one. He never really looked back from that; Guillory started in 11 games, becoming only the second OU true freshman to start at cornerback in the season opener. He was extremely dependable at corner, with All-Freshman nods for both the SEC Team and On3’s All-American team.

Highlights

This Season

Now with a full year of play under his belt, Guillory will be part of a very experienced secondary this year. He’ll start opposite Eli Bowen at corner, with Peyton Bowen and Michael Boganowski at safety. With his physical approach and snaps played, Guillory can make a name for himself this year as one of the top corners in the SEC.
