In late fall 2023, Washington and his teammate Marcus James made a double announcement to join OU.

Highlights
This Season
The tight end room, after being virtually non-existent for several seasons, received a complete overhaul over the offseason. The Sooners brought in NFL legend Jason Witten to coach the room and return it to a position of strength for OU. Rocky Beers, Hayden Hansen, and Jack Van Dorselaer were all brought in as transfers to replace the four main tight ends from 2025, with Tyler Ruxer and Ryder Mix entering as freshmen. The three transfers look likely to lead the spot this fall, with Washington competing for snaps as a reserve and looking ahead to a larger role in 2027.
