Forever grateful to Mercer – my coaches, teammates, and the entire community – for believing in me and helping me grow on and off the field. After much thought and prayer with my family, I’m incredibly excited to announce my commitment to the University of Oklahoma #BoomerSooner pic.twitter.com/7zza6nKDd5

This Season
Mateer returns as Oklahoma’s starter, while Newbauer and freshman Bowe Bentley are competing for the backup job. Newbauer’s seems to have settled into the backup spot this year and should see stretches of play when the Sooners build solid leads.
