The Path to Norman

David Stone was a member of the 2024 recruiting class. A native of the Sooner state, Stone played high school football at Del City for two seasons before switching to IMG Academy for his final two. The elite defensive lineman was a 5* player and one of the top 10 highest-ranked recruits ever to sign with OU. He had his choice in program, with offers from almost the entire country. Stone’s top six included OU, Michigan State, Miami, Oregon, Alabama, and Texas A&M. Stone committed in August 2023 and was part of an incredible DL class for the Sooners.

Career so Far

Stone played in every game as a true freshman. He showed plenty of promise as he eased into the college game. Stone briefly entered the portal after the season but stuck with the Sooners.

He took a major step forward in 2025, appearing in all 13 games and making his first two starts. Stone led Oklahoma’s defensive tackles in stops, ranked seventh on the team overall, and again earned SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition. Gracen Halton and Damonic Williams had plenty of experience but Stone and Jayden Jackson showed what the underclassmen were capable of.
