The Path to Norman

Jacob Henry took an unusual route to OU football. Henry is a true athlete and came from an athletic family; he is the son of WWE Hall of Famer and two-time Olympian Mark Henry. The athlete played defensive line in high school, but also competed in track and field – finishing top-four in the state in shot put in his senior season. The main focus, however, was wrestling; Henry had an impressive high school wrestling career and finished his senior year as the 6A 285-pound runner-up. Henry joined the OU wrestling squad, redshirted his freshman season, then decided to join the football team.

This Season

The interior defensive line was one of the brightest groups for the Sooners in 2024. A lot of pieces are returning for 2025, including Damonic Williams, Jayden Jackson, David Stone, and Gracen Halton. In his first season with the program, Henry will likely provide depth for the Sooners on the line.
