The Path to Norman

Will Huggins’ road to OU had multiple stops along the way. He played high school football in Kansas, then stayed in-state to join the Jayhawks. Huggins spent four seasons at Kansas, playing in a handful of games, before transferring to Pitt State. There, he had a big season with a nice stat line. Following his 2024 season, Huggins transferred to OU.

Career so Far

Huggins played in 11 games across four seasons at Kansas, redshirting one of them and logging just one reception.

In his lone season at Pitt State, the tight end played in all 11 games and was an impact player on offense. He finished fourth in the team in receiving yards and led the team in yards per catch.

This Season

The tight end room is, and has been for some time, a bit of a mystery this season. The Sooners will once again be replacing their main tight ends, as Jake Roberts and Bauer Sharp have both departed. Huggins looks likely to start; Jaren Kanak has shifted to offense and will play a role, as will the returning Kaden Helms and newcomer Carson Kent. Huggins has enjoyed a good spring and hopes to lead an improved tight end room this fall.
