The Path to Norman
A receiver in the 2024 class, Zion Kearney was a highly-coveted four-star recruit with offers from dozens of programs. Arkansas, Houston, LSU, Nebraska, and A&M were the other teams in Kearney’s top six, with LSU and A&M being the biggest factors. However, Coach Emmett Jones went on a heater in 2023 and landed Kearney in the spring of that year.

Career so Far
The receiver room in 2024 ended up looking much different than expected due to injuries to many of the initial two-deep. Kearney ended up seeing 247 snaps in his freshman season. However, as with the entire receiver room, it was a quiet season with plenty of bumps.

Highlights
This Season
Kearney has enjoyed a promising offseason with steady praise for his growth. He was dinged up at the start of fall camp but should be ready for the season. The receivers room currently looks to be led by Keontez Lewis, Isaiah Sategna, and Deion Burks; however, several others (Kearney, Elijah Thomas, Josiah Martin, and more) will have plenty of chances to be in the two-deep and crack the starting lineup.
