The Path to Norman
Samuel Omosigho was a very highly-rated prospect out of Texas. He received his OU offer shortly before the staffing change at Oklahoma. Other schools like Michigan, Washington, USC, and Florida all offered the linebacker as well. However, Coach Venables and company pushed hard and won the commitment of the coveted player.

Career so Far
Omosigho played regularly in year one on campus. He saw action in 10 games, playing on special teams and providing depth at Cheetah.
In 2024, Omosigho played in all 13 games at the Cheetah spot, seeing starts in three. The Cheetah spot had been led by Kendel Dolby until he suffered a season-ending injury; Omosigho was one of several players who worked at the spot and he looked good in his chances.

This Season
The linebacker room hosts mostly returning players along with a key transfer. Omosigho has worked at both MIKE and Cheetah over the offseason and has a chance to contribute at either spot. Kip Lewis seems extremely likely to start at WILL; the Cheetah spot will have a competition between Kendal Daniels and Reggie Powers, while the MIKE spot will have Kobie McKinzie and Omosigho battling. Most of those players could potentially shuffle around depending on how the staff wants to use the talent and all are likely to see a lot of action in 2024.
