The Path to Norman

Marcus Wimberly came to OU from the state of Arkansas. In high school, Wimberly competed in baseball and track and field to go along with football. Wimberly played in the secondary while also seeing time at quarterback and receiver. He had a stretch of five months in 2023 of being committed to the Razorbacks, but open his recruitment up. An Oklahoma offer came two months later, with a commitment to the Sooners coming two months after that.

Highlights

This Season

The Sooners return Robert Spears-Jennings and Peyton Bowen in the safety room, both with plenty of game experience. Jaydan Hardy and Mike Boganowski will provide depth at the two spots. Wimberly will likely see a redshirt season this fall and look to make an impact in years to come.
