The Path to Norman
Jeremiah Newcombe comes from a football family. His father, Bobby, played QB at Nebraska and was drafted to the NFL in 2001. Jeremiah’s brother, Isaiah, plays for UCLA. The Sooners offered Jeremiah in the fall of 2022; Newcombe’s offer sheet already included USC, Washington, and others, with offers from Notre Dame and Michigan coming soon after. The four star DB took a visit to Norman in the spring of 2023. Within a few weeks, he committed to the Sooners.

Highlights
This Season
The cornerback room will have a lot of good options this fall. Eli Bowen and Gentry Williams are likely leaders, but Kendel Dolby, Courtland Guillory, Newcombe, and more will all be pushing for their snaps. It’s a competitive room, but hopefully Newcome can see more snaps this fall and gain more experience.
