The Path to Norman
Zion Ragins was part of Coach Emmett Jones’ extremely well-rounded first recruiting class. The receiver out of Georgia was a priority for OU, with plenty of others (like Georgia and Florida State) wanting the speed receiver. Ragins holds the 100 meter dash Georgia state record for a freshman at 10.37. Despite visits to FSU and Georgia in June 2023, Ragins committed to Oklahoma that July.
Career so Far
Ragins was called upon earlier than expected; a depleted 2024 receiver room led to the freshman playing in all 13 games, earning five starts, and seeing the third-most snaps at receiver for OU over the year. Even so, he had a relatively quiet season and didn’t make many plays.

Highlights
This Season
The receiver room was largely overhauled over the offseason and has also had many guys out with injuries. However, Ragins’ name hasn’t been mentioned often. He’ll have to fight for snaps this fall in a new-look position group or use the season to redshirt.
