The Path to Norman
Markus Strong had a relatively short recruitment with the Sooners. A defensive lineman out of Florida, Strong received his OU offer in the fall of 2022.

The big man also received offers from UCF, West Virginia, and Louisville. Less than two months after his Oklahoma offer, the Sooners got a signing day commitment.
Chosen for your humility and strong work ethic. Welcome to the Oklahoma family @Markus_Strong2!

Highlights
This Season
Despite a high amount of turnover on the defensive front, the Oklahoma defensive line has a logjam of talented options. Strong was mentioned during winter training as a guy making strides, and again during the spring as a player standing out. He will have to continue building on that momentum to crack the depth chart, but certainly has the tools to make an impact in Norman.
