The Path to Norman
Drew Heinig played high school football in Glenpool, just outside of Tulsa. Heinig was a multi-sport athlete, with track and field being another focus; he was a state champ in shot put. The big man committed to BYU on a scholarship offer, but instead chose to take a PWO from the in-state Sooners.

Career so Far
Heinig took a redshirt season in his first season on campus and did not see the field.
This Season
The defensive line will feature a mix of returning and new players, with a logjam fighting for spots on the two-deep. 2024 will be another chance to Heinig to continue developing his game. It can sometimes be tough for PWO players to carve out their role, but Heinig has plenty of time remaining in Norman to continue his push for playing time.
